I now live in Castle Rock and I still drive down to Colorado Springs every year for my annual eye checkups with Dr. Derber. Her new office on Explorer Dr. is much nicer than the old location on N. Academy, with it having all of the amenities of a modern eye care center. The staff there is always kind and professional. Doctor and tech were great. Picked out some glasses that were paid for by my insurance. I looked into what it would cost for new sunglasses but it was too much (out of pocket for me) so I elected to get new lenses for the sunglasses that I got from them last year. 2 weeks later I got a call that both the new glasses and the sunglasses lenses were ready. Went in and the glasses were great but the sunglass lenses were definitely not the right size for my frames (even though they had the info for the correct frames). 3 weeks later the new lenses finally arrive. They left a voicemail that told me this and that I should make an appointment but that I could also wait for the lenses to be ready. I was not told that I could only get these lenses put into my frames Tues - Thurs (the person that can cut the lenses to size is only there on these days) so, since I was off on Friday, I went in. I was then told that that was why they said I needed an appointment (but skipped over the part where they also said I could wait). So, I made an appointment for the following Tuesday. On Tuesday I went in for my appointment, gave them the frames and told them I would wait (they told me 30 to 45 minutes). 45 minutes later they brought out my sunglasses with the new lenses. I was then told that the lenses have some scratches around the edges and they were going to order new lenses again so I can have "perfect" lenses. They will call and then I will have to go through this process all over again. If the timeframe is the same as it was for the lenses I currently have, it will be at least 3 weeks before I get the final (hopefully) lenses. If that is the case, it will have taken 2.5 months just to get lenses. Each time I went in to get my lenses, I was given a token apology that never seemed sincere. In fact, one of them apologized in a way that made it sound like they were apologizing for me making a mistake (for not making an appointment as they suggested even though I was given the option to wait and never told why I needed an appointment). I know mistakes happen but they aren't even trying to make it up to me in anyway (like offering any sort of refund since they made the mistake a couple of times now). I am definitely frustrated and will consider changing providers next year.

I've been wearing prescription glasses and sunglasses with progressive lenses for over 30 years and…read moreI've never had an optometrist have so much trouble getting my prescription correct. I had an excellent optometrist for many years. I went to Dr. Lymer after recently moving to Colorado Springs. He was recommended by my daughter. The exam seemed to go fine. He accurately identified the astigmatism diagnosed by my previous optometrist. However, when it came to identifying the correct prescription, it was a big miss. When I received my new glasses, the intermediate and distance vision was way off to the point that I could actually see better with no glasses. I gave it a day to see if my eyes would adjust and they did not. Dr. Lymer did another exam and adjusted the prescription. He apologized and the new glasses were ordered. I received the replacements nearly three weeks later and they are still not correct. I've been using a 10 year old pair of glasses and no sunglasses for over a month. I will try going back one more time but if they can't get it right on the third try, I will have to find another optometrist and likely end up paying out of pocket. Even if they do get it right on the third try, I have very little confidence in Lymer Vision and will not go back in the future.

These ladies know exactly what they are doing, the entire office knew exactly what they can and cannot do with these glasses. Their expertise saved me hundreds of dollars. I got prescription transition lenses for My Rayban Meta 1's. Emily was fabulous, she would not bill me until she had an exact price and even worked to resolve some challenges with my insurance. Best part, she called me the next day exactly when she said she would.

There were instruments and machines I had never seen before. It was the most thorough eye exam I have ever had. I got new progressive lens glasses and I see much better. The quality of the lenses is much greater than you will find at discount eye stores. He even put me on vitamins to increase the pigment in the macula of my eyes. This reduces my chances of developing macular degeneration. I was so impressed, I sent my thirteen year old daughter in and he was great with her. I will never go anywhere else.
