Halfway through drilling he says "oh I don't want to keep drilling if that's just food stuck on your teeth". Kinda trumatized doubt I'll go back.

The dentist there now has been there for several years. I noticed when I first was there the assistants had to go to other rooms to get instruments they needed. Not a big problem, but a couple of months ago I was in and had a tooth that was infected. They sent me to a specialist which was fine until I was advised the insurance wouldn't cover the procedure because work had been done less than 2 years ago. I contacted South Mountain clinic and was told they would talk to the doctor and call me back. I never got a call so 2 weeks later I called. I was told by the manager they would refund the charge from their office for the work which was about half of what I had to pay the specialist because the insurance didn't cover it. They said the check was sent but we never got it. I called the office and was told they would check on it, no call so after some time I called and was told they weren't able to track it. I suggested the put a stop payment and reissue a new check. They had it sent to their office. I had to call to find out that they had the check, no call from the staff. The next incident happened when my wife was in for a checkup. On one of her tooth images, they saw what was described as a ball of fire. The dentist asked if it hurt and was told no so they decided it was an old build up under the crown. Four days later there was an infection and pain in that area. We are up north for the summer so on Monday my wife tried to see a dentist in Pinetop. She was told it wouldn't be until Wednesday, and they could not give any meds without seeing her first. The pain got more intense, so she called South Mountain Dental Tuesday morning the get antibiotics and medication for pain since she had been there last Tuesday. She was told they would talk to the Doctor and let her know. After several hours there was no call, so my wife called and was told that the doctor said he could prescribe antibiotics but nothing for the pain. He saw her last week, knows the problem and could have prescribed something for pain for a day until she sees the dentist up here. When we are back in town we will be going to another dentist. The office is not dependable, and I question the dentist ability on his diagnosis. On the upside every hygienist I have seen were wonderful.

She moved to this office and it's closer for me than previous dentist which i'm happy about. Dr. Quihuis had lots of recommendations but I prefer to prioritize what's necessary right now. She filled 2 cavities and prepared my other tooth for a crown and ordered it from the lab. I got my crown placed January 2026 so excited! I appreciate after she filled one of my cavities near that area - it No longer is getting food caught. Bridgett from the front office was super helpful in explaining how I can check what I have left with insurance coverage and estimating my portion of the cost. Overall i'm happy and with care and I felt the office and Dr is honest and provide quality service.

I did have a little trouble finding the office the first time because I was not aware it was located inside of a Walmart. I was probably 15 minutes late the first day because I was circling around in the shopping center for 30 minutes looking for it. I kind of wish when I booked the appointment someone had told me it was inside Walmart. I really like the dentist here. I forgot her name but she is younger, blonde, and really nice. I have come here so far for 2 check ups with cleaning and for placement of crowns. I previous broke my front two teeth when I was in elementary school and have had some old school fixes that were starting to chip at the surface. This caused me to have cavities inside my front two teeth. The dentist recommended that I replace them with crowns since they were getting so worn. I was a little hesitant because I have been quoted for this before in the past and it has always be in the $3000 range and I don't have that kind of money right now for something that isn't an emergency or a needs to be done right now kind of thing. Turns out, it would only cost $1600 for both crowns and if I paid for it today they would through in free whitening for top and bottom. Sign me up and take my money! I left the first day with temps and was a little upset because they looked horrible. It looked like I had one gigantic front tooth instead of two and it was two different colors, the color of the temp and the color of the glue inside. I was so embarrassed to smile. I did mention to the hygienist that I didn't like the color difference, but nothing was done about it and I thought maybe that was they way it had to be. Two weeks later, my permanents were ready but they were the wrong color (not the office's fault and I am not mad), so I had to get temps put on again for another two weeks. I mentioned to the dental hygienist (different one than last time) that I didn't like the fact that last time it was two different colors, so she took some cavity filler and colored the both of the teeth completely to make them one unified color. She also took her time to sand them to make them look like two separate teeth. They looked a lot better than the previous temps I had. They didn't look great but they looked good enough for me to smile and laugh. I had my permanents put on today and they look amazing. I am so happy I had them done. They match my natural, now whitened, teeth color perfectly. If you don't have insurance, they offer a "smile plan" that cost $60 for the year and it discounts the dental work and procedures significantly. I was looking at the cost of stuff and it's a really good deal.I will continue to use this location, especially while I don't have insurance.

I was told I needed to come back for the second part of my deep cleaning and when I did, I walked to the chair waited for like 15 min for them to start and instead the FINANCE guy came from nowhere and said I actually had FIVE cavities not three like I was told the first time. I though hmm why would the dentist lie to me the first time?! And WHY does the finance guy know more than the dentist??? He asked if I wanted to have them taken care of at that time to which I said NO THANKS. He got pissed and walked out. And I left and never looked back! This was over a year ago. Hopefully the finance guy was fired and the dentist knows more than everyone else...

The staff is incredibly friendly, but every time I go they make a mistake and I have to go back. Chipped teeth, broken crowns, etc. I thought I found a great dentist, but this one is accident prone. It's also true that the Dr jumps between patients. Maybe the problem is that they are too much in a hurry and not properly staffed. Again, Laurie is the BEST. You'll want to pass on the rest though.

Long story short due to their guidelines I couldn't have my kiddos there at all and I grew frustrated because of me taking off of work already I couldn't afford to reschedule my appointment for another day. After going back and forth for about 20 minutes I was advised I could come back in the next hour without the kiddos which I was able to get some help from their grandmother for a few hours. My rescheduled appointment was at 12:30 in which having to wait for the kiddos to get picked but I didn't make it tell 12:40 as I come back they had me go straight back set me up and did all my stuff cleaning and second fill. Overall I just want to say being mad and frustrated I was able to get my stuff done and leave numb but done with fills until braces.
