SO GOOD!! The food all was so flavorful and big portions. They had plenty of options! The inside was nice and had a good amount of seating. One thing I will say the service was really bad. The servers were nice but they would forget our table constantly so we kept switching servers and had to ask for help, but again they were really nice just maybe short staffed! But the food was worth it! Highly recommend the sticky rice too!

ordered the chicken krapow and thai tea to go. it was ready when i got there, and the food was good! the thai tea was sweet, and the chicken krapow was spicy and flavorful. the rice helped balanced it out. it had a little too much sauce for my preference, but still good!
Mud dang is always a good idea! It's a restaurant. I wish I could get two more often and every time I go I'm reminded exactly why. This is some of, if not the best Thai food in the Reno Tahoe area and if you haven't tried it yet, you are seriously missing out. People always ask me why I say that statement was such certainty and it's because Chef Opal really goes the extra mile to bring our community new and authentic flavor. She started with her Thai noodle soup soups, which have been a main stay on the menu since they opened in overtime, she's expanded those offerings to include many of her favorite dishes from back home. It's hard to pull away from what's beloved, but I find myself trying harder and harder to look at the new additions and choose one each time I go. That's why I largely prefer to go in a group because it means we can order more things lol! This last time I saw a seafood curry on the menu and had to go for it. At $30 I was a little unsure if it would be quite the value but let me tell you this thing was loaded with high-quality seafood. Big chunks of crab, giant, prawns, and large pieces of calamari steak made this extra special. The sauce was a yellow curry that had a slight sweetness, and it was chock full of scrambled egg that added richness, and of course you could add as much spice as you'd like. Another home run by Chef, Opal, and a great reason to get back to Moo Dang asap!
We did take out. Unfortunately the wait for food was extremely long though it didn't seem very busy. The good thing is the food was fresh and delicious. While we waited, we liked the ambiance and decor/merch.
We are back and lovin' it! My plan was to have leftovers and let me just tell you the fried rice for breakfast was awesome. That all started the afternoon before with shrimp garden rolls with peanut sauce, Moo Dang fried rice, satay chicken and drunken noodles. (There were two of us just so you know). The fantastic fried rice was not new to me but had never had drunken noodles. That's the last time I make that mistake. It was a fantastic dish. Our server was helpful and fun. Same as last time, a standard for Moo Dang. Lots of booths and tables for everyone. You can also get a t-shirt on your way out!
I don't know why it has took me so long to try this place. I have heard nothing but good things. I was not disappointed. I came with a group of friends so. I was able to try a couple things. The pad Thai was flavorful but a bit sweet for me. I added their chili oil and it made such a difference. I'll order it but with more spice next time. The Panang curry was good with lots of veggies. I ordered the coconut soup. If you like coconut soup this will hit the spot. My son ordered mango sticky rice for dessert. It was delicious but could use more sauce but that's just my preference. A friend of mine ordered the crab fried rice. I don't get a picture but that dish definitely stole the show. It had lots of crab mixed throughout and some on top. The flavor of the rice was to die for. Service was great even with it being busy. They had a full house and the wait for food was not long. The server was attentive. They had only one bathroom but it was clean at least.
Dang the decorations with the old Kung Fu movie posters is dynamite! The staff is friendly and attentive. This place is nestled in a small shopping square with other restaurants. It is a 10 minute drive from the airport but the food sells itself. The food and drink menu here has depth! Chicken satay is tender and juicy! Papaya salad delicious and fresh. Thai fried rice with pork was a home run. We topped this off with the mango sticky rice. They also sell merchandise for the restaurant. Will come back the next time we're in town!
Wow, this has to be the best Thai food I've ever had! I was so full when leaving but so grateful to have such an incredible experience. The Reno CM Michael T. ordered for the table a number of various dishes and none disappointed! There was so much food but it was my favorite way to eat. Getting to try so many dishes is my ideal dining experience. The servings were massive and so many good things to mentally note that I hope my local Thai place serves.The crispy papaya salad was a quick favorite but the Moo Dang soup might have been my favorite. The flavors in every dish were out of this world! I wish I lived closer to experience this restaurant more often!
Without question, Moo Dang is some of the best Thai food I've come across! Holy smokes, I walked out of here stuffed to the brim and satisfied to the umpteenth degree. Moo Dang celebrated their 10th anniversary this year, and it's safe to say they might make it 100 more years in business if they keep this up. Reno, count your friggin' blessings! Pays to dine with royalty, and luckily the Reno CM Michael T. knows how to order for the table. The owner brought out at least seven ginormous plates of food that three of us barely made a dent in. But good god, I'm so glad I got to try so many different things in one meal. Sure, I have my favorites when I eat at a Thai restaurant. Here are a couple of things worth noting when dining at Moo Dang: Soups -- I tried the Tom Yum, the house named Moo Dang soup, and Green Curry. These were all top tier, putting to shame so many restaurants around the country. All of them were prepared with love and the flavors were simply exceptional. You might think to yourself, pork skewers and drunken noodles...how good could those be? Stop, drop, and roll people, these are also elite. The texture of the noodles were textbook, while the skewers retained so much moisture and depth of flavor. Papaya Salad is one of my favorite Thai dishes. Here we were presented with a fried version. I had no idea you could fry papaya! Shows what I know! This was incredible and unlike anything I've had before. Just sensational. The restaurant resides in a humble strip mall. The environment is homey and lively. The people are beyond friendly, and the food is nothing short of a 5-star knockout. Walking out of this place I said to myself, "I'm so lucky I had the chance to dine here." Moo Dang, you're awesome. I wish I didn't live 1000 miles away!!!
First time here and I had pretty high hopes. When you walk in, the place is eclectically decorated and has a fun vibe. Service was quick and friendly, which I really appreciated. I love Thai food, but unfortunately this just didn't fully hit the mark for me. The fried rice was good and probably my favorite dish we ordered. The kra-pow spicy basil with pork belly was just okay -- the pork belly was very crunchy and almost overcooked and dry, which isn't how I'm used to having it. The pad Thai was decent, but it had a slightly strange taste that threw me off. Overall, not terrible, but not quite what I was hoping for given my expectations.
Moo Dang is one of my reliable Thai staples in Reno. The Tom Ka is comforting and rich without being heavy, the Moo Dang soup hits that savory-sweet noodle perfection, and the green curry is the kind you crave on a random Tuesday. Portions are generous, prices don't make me cry, and the staff has always treated me well. It's not quite fireworks-level for me.. maybe I haven't unlocked the dish yet, but I can always count on walking out satisfied. Solid joint!
Moo Dang sits in Midtown in a big shopping center with plenty of parking. We went on a Friday early in the evening and were seated right away. By the time we headed out, the place was packed with people waiting, so going a bit earlier on a weekend helps. The space is roomy and has an easygoing feel. Thai photos and posters fill the walls, and the mix of tables and booths makes it comfortable for groups or a quick dinner. Service was great from the start. Everything came out quickly, and the staff stayed friendly and attentive the whole time. The food was the highlight. The Lad Na had a warm, savory sauce that coated the soft noodles nicely, and the vegetables were fresh with a good crunch. The Kra Pow Basil pork had a clean basil flavor and a steady heat that made it really satisfying. We finished with the sweet rice mango, which arrived warm and tender and wrapped up the meal in the best way. I would absolutely recommend it.

Daaaaaaaaaaang that was some Spicy Pad Thai. I only ordered it at a 2 and I was sniffling and wimpering by the time I put my fork down. Thank you daddy, may I have another. Seriously, I loved every bite while we were here. Checking in on Yelp got us a free Fish Balls appetizer. Don't worry, the unappetizing name is not reflective at all of the actual delicious appetizer. I am not a gay fish. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. My wife ordered the Drunken Noodles with Roast Pork which also was tasty. However, something that I thought was really special was the spoonful of crab-fried rice I stole from my friend's plate. That was just... special. That plate is something you order for yourself when you just want to have a completely unique, pure experience. I can't wait to come back. Honestly, probably the best Thai I've had in Reno so far. Also, follow them on Instagram to get endlessly teased with tasty looking dishes. Food porn FTW. Again, not a gay fish. read more

I came here for the first time last night to meet with several other women in the group. The place is pretty big with lots of seating. Everything looks nice and clean. The waitress was very nice and noticed that our group was just meeting each other for the first time so she offered to let us all have our own separate bill instead of us trying to figure our who owes what. That was a real plus for us for future group dinners. The menu had so much to choose from. You will find many things to eat even if your a vegan, vegetarian, or meat eater. I also really like the way you can choose how spicy you like your food from a 1-5 star rating on 1 being the most mild and of course 5 will be very spicy. There food does not have msg so another big plus for them. Lastly I just want to mention that I love the way they use paper straws. Nice to know they are doing a part to help the environment too. So the next time your looking for a good Thai place you should check them out. The parking lot is so big with lots of other places around so you should not worry about getting a parking spot. read more

This is the perfect place for take out or dine in after a long day and you want something delicious and flavorful. Moo Dang always delivers! My favorite dish here is drunken noodle/basil noodles. The noodle is chewy and thoroughly flavored and the dish is incredibly filling and satisfying. I also like their basil fried rice and the two curries (red and green). If you like Thai food, you must try this place! The location is convenient, and the ambience of the restaurant is very comfortable and simple, makes me feel like I'm back in a local Thai restaurant! read more

Y'all... I feel so rude not taking a before picture smh. Everything was super tasty. I had the drunken noodles with calamari with 3 stars on spice and I should've asked for 5 stars!!! It was still mild to me. I will come back for sure and patronize this restaurant read more
Clean and spacious Thai restaurant. Quick service. Extensive craft beer selections! Lunch specials, easy parking. Had the ample green papaya salad with medium fish sauce dressing. Not salty. Lunch special shrimp spinach rama plate with brown rice was mild with a curry peanut gravy over fresh spinach. The yelp check in fish balls were 4 round crispy round nuggets with a spicy dipping sauce. The beer selection, again, noteworthy for special craft beers. read more

Located in midtown Reno, this restaurant has excellent ratings and so I had been meaning to check it out for a while. We went here on a Sunday evening, and the place was mildly crowded, showing it's popularity. The servers were prompt and we got our table in less than 5 mins. A yelp checkin does get you a free plate of "fish balls", so do not forget that!! Besides that, we ordered garden fresh wraps and Tom yum fried rice- the rice was tangy and a bit spicy which we loved. We went vegetarian and so we asked for tofu with our fried rice and the server obliged. Almost anything can be made vegetarian so do not hesitate to ask. All in all, we were happy with the food. I loved their peanut sauce which comes with the garden wraps, super yum!! Overall, we enjoyed our dinner there, the only thing is the order does take time to prepare to be patient. Otherwise, a fantastic Thai restaurant, would definitely visit again!! read more

This has go to the best Thai food I've had in Reno! And I've been driving by it for years! FYI on the scale from 1-5 on spicy-ness if you can't handle spicy don't do it! Even a 1 on the scale is a lot. Overall it's great food! No other Thai place I've been to so far can compare. Even in Alaska they are known for Thai food everywhere and MOO DANGS kills it! Give this place a try and you'll know what I'm talking about! My brother and I have so much fun with all the other guests eating too, because they're just as oblivious to the heat scale and we all laughed at how hot the flavor is. It's sooo good here! read more

The reviews were right -- Moo Dang is indeed the BEST Thai restaurant I've ever been to!!! We ordered the pad see ew, pad thai, and red curry. The noodles were so soft and chewy, almost like mochi. The curry was spicy, sour, and creamy all at the same time. The service was also amazing, all of our food came out in less than 10 minutes and the servers always came to us quick when we needed them. I'm super impressed and will recommend everyone to come here if you want to satisfy your Thai food cravings--you won't regret it! read more

Recently a friend wanted curry, so I suggested we try out Moo Dang. I've gotten takeout here back when it first opened and I've been here on a Midtown food walk, but I had been itching to come back and eat in for a while now. We were fondly greeted as soon as we arrived and seated in a slightly aging booth. The restaurant was fairly empty, it being 2:30, in between lunch and dinner times, so our service was very fast and attentive. Although, I did get the impression that they always had excellent customer service here. Their menu was pretty extensive, having tons of traditional Thai and Vietnamese dishes and of course, their namesake red roast pork. We settled on pork green curry and a Reno Vegan Chef Challenge dish, King's Legend Fried Rice (special for the month of April). We also checked in on Yelp to receive a free order of fish balls. Our food arrived in quick succession and the fish balls came out first, even though I ordered them as an afterthought. They were crispy and delicious, like an adult fish stick, with a sweet, sticky, tangy tamarind sauce for dipping. The fried rice was on another level. Every once in a while you have a vegan dish that makes you think "I could probably be vegan" and this was definitely the one. There were so many different textures and flavors in this dish and it had an overwhelming umami flavor, making me forget there wasn't meat in it completely. I was thoroughly impressed by the creativity of their Reno Vegan Chef Challenge dishes, the amount of substitutions and additions to their menu items they accommodated, and the courtesy of their staff, making this restaurant one I kept thinking about for days after I left. read more

We do not use any MSG in our food. We use fresh ingredients to make it yummy! We do not use any dried shrimp in anything we make also. We have gluten free and vegan options available as well. If you have any more questions feel free to ask!
