I came here for the first time last night to meet with several other women in the group. The place is pretty big with lots of seating. Everything looks nice and clean. The waitress was very nice and noticed that our group was just meeting each other for the first time so she offered to let us all have our own separate bill instead of us trying to figure our who owes what. That was a real plus for us for future group dinners. The menu had so much to choose from. You will find many things to eat even if your a vegan, vegetarian, or meat eater. I also really like the way you can choose how spicy you like your food from a 1-5 star rating on 1 being the most mild and of course 5 will be very spicy. There food does not have msg so another big plus for them. Lastly I just want to mention that I love the way they use paper straws. Nice to know they are doing a part to help the environment too. So the next time your looking for a good Thai place you should check them out. The parking lot is so big with lots of other places around so you should not worry about getting a parking spot. read more

5 stars all the way!!! This restaurant is incredible. Every dish is absolutely delicious and probably the best version of that dish that you've ever had. Reminds me of eating food in Thailand. It's almost impossible to find food this good in Thai restaurants in the continental US evening, major cities like Seattle or San Francisco. The flavors are in parallels. Every single thing is delicious. The papaya salad is unreal but so are the soups and so are the appetizers. So is everything! Oh ya, the crab fried rice is absolutely out of this world. Clean and spacious Thai restaurant. Quick service. Extensive craft beer selections! Lunch specials, easy parking. Had the ample green papaya salad with medium fish sauce dressing. Not salty. Lunch special shrimp spinach rama plate with brown rice was mild with a curry peanut gravy over fresh spinach. The decor of the restaurant was pretty plain. But that is not what I went there for. I've had their food a few times as take out. This time I ate inside and the food was much better fresh. I ordered the fried pork belly dinner. The first time I ordered it. It was amazing. Crispy, fatty, tender. I asked for the dish to be made spicy HOT. They forgot to add the chilies and quickly recooked my meal. I didn't have to wait long. The server was friendly. The Thai tea was great. The reviews were right -- Moo Dang is indeed the BEST Thai restaurant I've ever been to!!! We ordered the pad see ew, pad thai, and red curry. The noodles were so soft and chewy, almost like mochi. The curry was spicy, sour, and creamy all at the same time. The service was also amazing, all of our food came out in less than 10 minutes and the servers always came to us quick when we needed them. The food was tasty with generous portions, I had the Panang Curry with chicken and my vegan friend had the tofu Green Curry. We were both satisfied and I took some home. Located in midtown Reno, this restaurant has excellent ratings and so I had been meaning to check it out for a while. We went here on a Sunday evening, and the place was mildly crowded, showing it's popularity. The servers were prompt and we got our table in less than 5 mins. A yelp checkin does get you a free plate of "fish balls", so do not forget that!! Besides that, we ordered garden fresh wraps and Tom yum fried rice- the rice was tangy and a bit spicy which we loved. We went vegetarian and so we asked for tofu with our fried rice and the server obliged. Almost anything can be made vegetarian so do not hesitate to ask. All in all, we were happy with the food. I loved their peanut sauce which comes with the garden wraps, super yum!! Overall, we enjoyed our dinner there, the only thing is the order does take time to prepare to be patient. Even a 1 on the scale is a lot. Overall it's great food! No other Thai place I've been to so far can compare. Even in Alaska they are known for Thai food everywhere and MOO DANGS kills it! Delicious food with aggressive spice and funk, but unfortunately I contracted food poisoning here. I had papaya salad, shrimp summer rolls, chicken wings, and stir fried pork belly with chili paste and green beans. If my knowledge of food safety serves me right, I most likely got sick from either the raw papaya or the raw lettuce in the summer rolls. It's too bad, because the papaya salad was actually properly seasoned with fish sauce and fermented shrimp paste. Their cooked food was tasty too, but I was spewing out of both ends at 5 in the morning. Go with cooked food to reduce the risk of unwashed hands or contaminated lettuce. read more

Recently a friend wanted curry, so I suggested we try out Moo Dang. I've gotten takeout here back when it first opened and I've been here on a Midtown food walk, but I had been itching to come back and eat in for a while now. We were fondly greeted as soon as we arrived and seated in a slightly aging booth. The restaurant was fairly empty, it being 2:30, in between lunch and dinner times, so our service was very fast and attentive. Although, I did get the impression that they always had excellent customer service here. Their menu was pretty extensive, having tons of traditional Thai and Vietnamese dishes and of course, their namesake red roast pork. We settled on pork green curry and a Reno Vegan Chef Challenge dish, King's Legend Fried Rice (special for the month of April). We also checked in on Yelp to receive a free order of fish balls. Our food arrived in quick succession and the fish balls came out first, even though I ordered them as an afterthought. They were crispy and delicious, like an adult fish stick, with a sweet, sticky, tangy tamarind sauce for dipping. The fried rice was on another level. Every once in a while you have a vegan dish that makes you think "I could probably be vegan" and this was definitely the one. There were so many different textures and flavors in this dish and it had an overwhelming umami flavor, making me forget there wasn't meat in it completely. I was thoroughly impressed by the creativity of their Reno Vegan Chef Challenge dishes, the amount of substitutions and additions to their menu items they accommodated, and the courtesy of their staff, making this restaurant one I kept thinking about for days after I left. read more

When others who arrived after got their food before us! We only ordered 3 items 1 appetizer and 2 entrees. Then trying to pay for our order was very difficult had to go up front to find someone to help us get all checked out and food was okay! read more

Moo Dang is my favorite Thai place in midtown. During the pandemic/shut down times my daughter and I ordered take out once a week to do our part to keep them open. I'm not surprised that they made it through because the food is so good. We probably go once a month now, and it is consistently delicious. Our favorites are the pad Thai, Moo Dang Fried Rice, Basil chicken, fresh rolls and the coconut sticky rice. They use cardboard take out containers too, not styrofoam. Yay! This place was amazing! We're from out of town and we're craving something savory and filling and we were not disappointed. We were served by a young girl with pink hair, she was so polite and attentive even when we were a bit indecisive with what we wanted. We ordered the drunken noodles, papaya salad, and some other appetizers and let me tell you if you're not sure about your spice tolerance go ahead and listen to your server. We ordered spice level 2 and boy did that make us sweat in the best way! The restaurant was decorated beautifully with awesome posters around the room with some old school Sinatra playing lowly in the background. Stopped in for lunch on an average Thursday. Food: B- I ordered the Drunken Noodle (pad kee mao) lunch special with beef, 3/5 spicy level. Pad kee mao is my favorite Thai noodle dish so I am very particular when it comes to this dish. Unfortunatly, Moo Dang's was below average. My noodle to vegetable/beef ration was off. I had plenty of beef, which is really nice, but not enough noodles. I like every bite to have some noodles on the fork but that was not possible this time round. In addition, the dish was quite oily, as in more oily than other pad kee mao dishes I've eaten. I was not a fan. Lastly, the spice level was not accurate. It felt more like a 4/5 than a 3. My mom ordered the pad thai lunch special with chicken, 0/5 spicy. Hers was good so maybe I just ordered the wrong dish. I do not think I will be returning here. The staff was plenty nice and everything, but the price of the entrees seemed $2-3 higher than some other thai places in town. I call this the "Midtown/Downtown tax" and sometimes its worth paying, but not here. read more

Met up with some wonderful fellow Yelpers for dinner and to try out Moo Dang. This is not really my go to type of food but I have a few dishes that I tend to gravitate to and I am also adventurous so when the opportunity to get together was suggested I wasn't about to miss out. The best thing about the night besides service, great company and wonderful food was we had Betty W with us that had frequented here so she was able to help us navigate the menu along with the waiter to give us suggestions of some GREAT dishes to order including heat levels. We even ordered the Thai Iced Coffee that Betty was drinking because it looked so tasty and IT WAS!! We ordered several dishes that we all shared Pad Thai, Garlic & Pepper Shrimp, Ginger Mushroom with Red Pork, Chicken Stir Fry and Drunken Noodle with Chicken at 0 heat (thanks Betty W for the suggestion because it was perfect). We also go two orders of the Fried Fish Balls with a wonderful dipping sauce for checking in on Yelp - thank you! I have to say that the dishes were bountiful, delicious or in my words OMTasty that we had plenty to share and even take plenty home. Fresh ingredients and wonderful, excellent service from start to finish which is a plus, plus in my book - thank you Moo Dang. Okay, so I'm kind of a baby when it comes to spice. That means when I'm trying a new place for the first time, I like to get a highly Americanized entree to feel them out. So I got the cashew stir-fry chicken. How they managed to get that chicken breading to *seem* nonexistent while simultaneously being perfectly crispy I do not know, but I suspect witchcraft, because there's no other explanation.
