It's no laughing matter that we all need more plant friendly options to save our planet and our health, and Laughing Planet delivers that on many accounts. We ordered online for pickup which was super easy and convenient. The website allows you to fully customize your order too without needing to ask at the cashier, especially if there is a line. Our dinner consisted of the Sumac Salad ($11.50) w/o feta, and was a delicious blend of kale, spinach, crispy chickpeas, green applies, quinoa, raisins, and olives. The vinaigrette they used was very refreshing and I'd definitely order this again. We also had their Black bean Hummus ($5.50) which was a good, carby side, and their Tempeh Royale ($9.75) which was a solid burrito that can easily be shared with someone. The salad was my favorite but everything was good overall.

I love the laid-back vibe and casual bar seating almost as much as their decor. My most recent visit was with my cousin from out of town and her children and of course myself and my children; we had a party of 7. The kids were impressed with their chicken quesadillas and beans. My cousin and I ordered two chicken bowls, and my kids ordered two orders of their salsa and queso with chips and bean and cheese burritos. Some time had lapsed since my last visit there, but my tasebuds were overwhelmed with all of the fresh flavors in our bowls. We ordered cookies for the kids to eat on the way back to my car. If you're looking for a local spot for lunch in Midtown, check it out. They offer a more vegan and paleo friendly menu, and they don't dig too deep into your pockets. Although it took a while for us to even order, I knew our food would be worth it. There were food delivery drivers waiting by the bar and a full line behind us. There was only one girl running and trying to aid everyone. We felt for her. She was doing her best! They gave us our drinks, chips, and queso for the long wait. We came in during the normal work week and caught their lunch rush. I recommend ordering ahead if you're pushed for time. If you have time, enjoy this cool restaurant or get some sun on the patio.

I was in Reno, NV for a business trip and unfortunately the food that was served at the event I was attending was not vegetarian friendly... Due to this, I did a little research and happened to find Laughing Planet Cafe which was about a 15-minute walk from the event center. I am SO GLAD I found this place!! The food was incredible! I hesitated slightly when I ordered the Vegetable Quesadilla as it included carrots and cauliflower - something that I wouldn't think to put in a quesadilla... But the combination of vegetables plus the queso fresco and their house made green sauce was beyond perfect!! I ate the entire thing and could've probably eaten more. They were low on fruits for the smoothies, so I ended up going with the Mango Banana that's typically a kinds menu item because they ran out of peaches for the Mango Peach that I wanted to try. Nevertheless, it was equally delicious! Also, the service was fantastic! This place is counter-service and the guy behind the counter on this day was doing basically everything himself, but was friendly the entire time and handled it all with grace. Much appreciated!! Y'all be sure to stop by and support this local business!! I know I will if I ever end up in Reno, NV again.

I was craving something healthy and fresh and this restaurant was recommended. I ordered the Highway to Kale salad with chicken added and wasn't disappointed. The salad consisted of kale, carrots, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, queso fresco and a lemon-parsley vinaigrette. It was exactly what I needed! Very light and filled with fresh ingredients. I do think the chicken could have looked more appetizing but it was fine. Cashier who took our order was very helpful. They have outside seating available as well as interior.

This place was just what I needed. Healthy, quick, clean, not super expensive, lots of vegetarian and gluten free options and the smoothie was so good and refreshing. They had a lot of daily specials also This place is on the corner across from the university, two story historic building, lots of windows to look out. It looks like they also have live music nights. Chic interior. Parking is a bit of a struggle. But overall really glad we came here. I got the crunchero, mango peach lemon smoothie and chips and salsa. It was tasty!

What an awesome healthy dining option! We went mid afternoon so there was only one other couple there at the time. It is seat yourself with TONS of seating options. The ambiance is very eclectic, with fun and interesting decor. The food was DELICIOUS!! I personally had the Bollywood bowl - I cannot rave enough about the coconut curry sauce that came on it. Dining in was just fine, but the lack of a lively environment is why it didn't get 5 stars for me, but their food was all incredible and an also great takeout option for lunch.

This place is perfect if you want healthy! Great atmosphere and the guy that helped us was very nice. I did ask for no cilantro and well I got HELLA cilantro on my bowl. Whatever I picked it off but it's that attention to detail. I would not sit out back because it's infested with small bugs, flying into your face and hair. Other than those two things it was a nice place! I'd never go to this location again because it's impossible to find parking as it's right across from the University. Great spot for students if you ask me. The prices were good too!

mango smoothie & chicken bbq casadilla

Drink we could not finish, in my opinion it was overwelmingly lemonady with an odd texture and though i can appreciate fruity chunks in a smoothie we found a waxy seedlike booger thing in it. quesadilla ingredients were very good but the breading was soaked/damp- overall unappealing. some of their burrito options are good tho- would recommend the tempeh royale.

I had tried a few restaurants before finally feasting at Laughing Planet. I was in town visiting a friend, and can't thank them enough for pointing me to the best crunch wrap supreme something I could have ever met. Order the crunchero now and thank me later.

When visiting Reno, I highly encourage anyone that is looking for a delightful and relaxing lunch…read morespot to definitely check out "Süp". Located directly on S. Virginia St and adjacent to St. Lawrence Ave in the heart of the Midtown neighborhood of Reno, Süp has served up delicious and healthy sandwiches, salads, and soups dating back to 2007. This place has been on my radar for quite some time and I finally got to experience what it was all about. Since this is in a fairly busy commercial part of town, it can be a bit tricky to find parking. However, we were able to park only a block away and this was during the afternoon on Thursday 7/2/2026 at around 12:15pm. After making the short way to the business, I absolutely loved the exterior aesthetics and layout were represented. The business itself mimics a house complete with a large front patio area that actually snakes around to the side of the house for the more comfortable Reno days. The wooden tables with plastic chairs and covered tents to shield off the sun were a very nice touch. The inside also offers very generous indoor seating complete with ample space for a single person, a couple, or a family. Their menu are digitally presented on LED TVs complete with some of their specials that are handwritten on a chalkboard. My lady and I both decided to order sandwiches to get our fuel and energy for the day. I went with their "Char-Grilled Steak Baguette"; this came complete with their bistro steak drizzled with chimichurri sauce and topped with caramelized onions, New York white cheddar & sharp cheddar cheese and served on a cheddar poppy seed baguette. My lady went with their "Reno Deli"; this offered salami, pepperoncini & pesto layered with spinach, tomatoes, provolone cheese, and aioli on toasted sourdough bread. Both of our sandwiches came with a side house salad. Once given our number (we got Tahoe St), we decided to sit outside and take full advantage of the weather (as it was a perfect 78°F). What I particularly like is that the ambiance is the perfect vibe for daydreaming, people watching, and enjoying the simplicity that a city like Reno offers. Both our sandwiches arrived in roughly 10 minutes and were presented on white porcelain plates. My sandwich was made to perfection as the cheddar baguette securely held the fillings quite nicely. There was a lot of seasoned steak as the other sauces were not too overpowering. And considering the size of this, it got me quite full as I wasn't hungry until much later in the day. I will say that if you're looking for a reputable small business that offers healthy fresh ingredients, excellent customer service, amazing ambiance in a very desirable area of Reno, I highly recommend giving "Süp" a try. Their selection of salads, sandwiches, bowls, and soups are all wonderful choices as they focus on farm-fresh ingredients. And if time allows, I highly encourage everyone to eat here as I felt right at home during my 45-minute stay. Keep in mind that they are closed on Sunday but are open Monday through Saturday from 11am-9pm. With that said and done, I am giving Süp a perfect five-star review.

Or is it that epic side salad that comes with every sandwich? I like to think that it's a combination of everything above that makes this place a spot that people return to time and time again. For me, it's the friendly faces and the family owned lives that this place is dudes which bring me here from time to time. And the warmer Mo I don't often think about it, but they do have incredibly welcoming patio with lots of shade and great salads and sandwiches if you don't feel like soup. But of course there's always an awesome option of having a cup of soup with your sandwich just to round out the experience. From what I can tell, not a whole lot has changed about this spot and that's with good reason. The people have spoken over and over and over again in this community loves this restaurant just the way it is. When you come here, you can't go wrong with the grilled cheese and classic tomato soup but if you're feeling adventurous, try the soup sampler and taste a few at once to pick your favorite then find out when it's on the menu so you can plan your return based around it. Me I'm a sandwich guy and my most recent visit. I had to try the barbecue chicken on the jalapeño cheddar roll. Chicken with succulent, not overly sauce with light spice and the fresh veggies on top made for a really nice sandwich. The bread was a little bit thick and I ended up eating most of it open face so in the future, I'd say if there's an option for this barbecue chicken to go on top of the salad, you won't miss there. Speaking of salad that cute little side salad that comes with all the sandwiches is so good. Their house made white balsamic vinaigrette is just absolute fire and no meal here is complete without it. 19 years in and Sup is still hot. When's the last time you visited?

When we arrived, we were seated immediately, which was a great start. The restaurant was busy, but no busier than many other places we've visited. After being seated, however, we waited... and waited... and waited for someone to even acknowledge us. Nothing. During that time, we watched our server attend to several other tables, clear dishes, grab items, and process payments. We also noticed two employees standing near the register. One of them looked over at our table multiple times, so it was obvious they knew we were there. Still, no one came over to greet us or let us know someone would be with us shortly. As we looked around, we realized we were the only Asian family in the restaurant. Whether intentional or not, it left us feeling overlooked, uncomfortable, and wondering if we were being treated differently. It was an awful feeling. Eventually, our server came to our table but never apologized for the long wait or acknowledged that we'd been sitting there unattended. By then, the experience had already left a bad impression. I was there with my husband and our three boys, and it was difficult trying to explain why we seemed to be the only table being ignored. Will we come back? NO I'm sure this restaurant has plenty of customers and won't miss one family, but every guest deserves to feel welcomed and valued. A simple greeting or apology would have gone a long way. As for the food, it was good. But good food alone doesn't make up for poor service or for making guests feel like they don't belong. Dining out is about the entire experience, and unfortunately, ours was overwhelmingly disappointing. I'm typically a very generous tipper because I appreciate good service. However, when a restaurant makes my family feel out of place and overlooked, it's hard to justify leaving anything. Respect and hospitality should be extended to every customer.

I don't think you can miss here on the menu. The duck pizza was fantastic but I wouldn't characterize the amount of cheese and toppings as 'generous' but it tasted like the ingredients were really high quality. Service was still good even though we were out of view of the main dining area. We started with the cauliflower appetizer. Very well cooked, perfectly tender, and the Calabrian chili oil was perfect for adding some spice. We then ordered entrees, which included the duck duo and a Caesar salad. The Caesar is nothing to write home about. It's fresh and from scratch, but it's just a Caesar. The duck duo came with both duck confit and duck breast. The duck confit was unreal. So tender and so flavorful. The duck breast was a bit tough for my liking, but I really enjoyed the sauce they used on the dish. Most of all, I was shocked by how good the dessert was. We ordered the cast-iron chocolate cake, and it was unbelievable. The sauce that bubbles away in the hot cast iron was spooned onto the rich cake and topped with vanilla ice cream. Nothing better! I miss the old Liberty that used to offer daily specials and killer deals on pasta and pizza, but the new Liberty ain't so bad. It might be a bit more pricey, but still a reasonable option for a nice dinner out in Reno.

We had to feed a crowd at home recently and Middle Eastern cuisine suited everyone's fancy, so naturally Aladdin's was the call. Using the online ordering system was simple, and the food was ready right on time. My only feedback is that the items don't all clearly describe what you get or how the dish comes, and so I added sauces thinking they came on the side but really came on top, and paid upcharges for things like pita, thinking they didn't come with it but then finding out they did and I just added a lot of extra. I ordered a few shawarma plates, an Aladdin combo, and hummus, falafel, and babaganoush appetizers. Everything was delicious, but some items were a bit surprising. The hummus is was a bit on the loose side, and we actually thought it was tahini from the look, aroma, and flavor. My guess is the batch was made with a bit more tahini than normal. Still good, but surprising. The Aladdin's Combo didn't look as pictured on the website, where it looks like a very sizable portion of meat, with chicken in a reddish marinade. Though the chicken looked similar to shawarma, it was clearly different in flavor, and both it and the koobideh were delicious. I ordered extra meat and had expected it to be outrageously large based on the menu photo of the standard order, but what came was more similar to the photo itself. It was still plenty to share, but I paid additional and didn't seem like I got that much more. The regular portions here are large, like easily feed two people sized. We ordered one plate per person, but in reality could've split them all. Again, I love this spot and chalk this up to learning. I think some folks could get frustrated with this experience, and I def did to an extent, but I enjoy this too much to gripe.

I've been to Aladdin's several times in the past when needing groceries for some of my Greek…read morerecipes, but this time my wife and I decided to hang out for a while and have lunch. We were not disappointed! Here are a few things to know: - In addition to selling Mediterranean groceries, you can order at the register and there are several small tables so you can sit and eat. - I ordered the Gyro Sandwich, and my wife ordered the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich. Both were really good, and quite large...I, of course, polished my entire sandwich off and my wife took half home for later. - We've bought Greek cheeses, olives, bulghur, and spices at Aladdin's, both this time and in the past. It's the only place to find some of the things I need, and the prices are better on some things than even Amazon. - Service was really great. The person working let me wait to pay until after I had finished my grocery shopping, and she brought our food out to our table pretty quickly. Bottom line: Aladdin's is a go-to place for us...next time, we'll probably go again at a time which would let us enjoy lunch at the same time.
