Came in at 6:50am to get my tires balanced and force matched on a Road Force balancer. I was told that their truck shop is the only place that can do a Road Force balance, so I was sent around the corner. Waited there for 15 minutes and nobody showed up, so I went back to Moody's to forego a Road Force and have a regular spin balance done. I was told it would be under 1 hour so I opted to wait in the waiting room. 2 hours passed, and the fella that checked me in came over to tell me that I've been moved back in the queue and it likely wouldn't be in the shop until after lunch -- and he suggested I simply leave and go to another shop. Drove to Discount Tire in Spring Hill and was in and out in 35 minutes. I don't have a problem with a shop being busy -- but this was a communication disaster. Why send me to the truck shop if they're not even open? And why let me wait for 2 hours just to tell me you can't get it done? I try to support local family-owned businesses when I can, hence why I really wanted to have a good experience here. Unfortunately after this, I will not return to Moody's. read more

I brought my Corvette and a freshly polished set of very expensive wheels to Moody's to have new tires mounted and installed. When I got the car back, every single wheel had scratches and marks on it. At first, I couldn't even see the damage -- because they left the wheels covered in tire lube or wax from the install. I had to drive the car home and wipe them down myself before I could even see what they had done. No attempt to clean up, no attention to detail -- not even the courtesy to give the wheels a quick wipe. I immediately contacted the shop, and over the phone they told me they would help cover the repair costs -- which, in hindsight, was just lip service. I went out of my way to get a professional quote from a trusted wheel repair shop in Nashville. When I called Moody's back with the estimate, I suggested (not them -- me) that I could stop by since I live just up the road. They said, "Yeah, that would be nice -- we can show our mechanics." So I drove over there, expecting a productive conversation, only to be told they wouldn't be doing anything because -- quote -- "There's no way we could have done something like that." Even after I explained that these wheels were just polished before coming to them -- even after I showed them photos I took the night before drop-off proving the wheels were in perfect condition -- they wouldn't even look. They literally told me to go back to the polisher and claim he messed them up. Completely ridiculous. This shop clearly doesn't respect their customers or their property. They're more concerned with volume and turnaround than accountability. If you care about your vehicle -- especially if you have aftermarket or high-end wheels -- DO NOT bring your car here. They damaged mine and then flat-out denied it. Looking at other low-star reviews, it seems I'm not the only one. read more

One star since they answered the call. I called at five minutes until 12 on a Saturday morning about four tires that we had bought for our Altima from them. We were getting ready to go on a Fourth of July trip. We explained our situation of one tire losing air. . (We found out later it was a nail and the tire needed patching.). Their customer interaction is as honest, professional, and friendly as ever, and they never try to upsell me on unnecessary services or products. I had to wait two hours this past Saturday for them to work on my car and was able to use the remote office set-up they have in their waiting room with electrical & USB outlets as well as free Wi-Fi. I was quoted I set price for my tires, including tax disposal and everything and when I got my tires replaced, the bill was 20% higher than what I was told. I told them about the prior quote but they really didn't seem to give a care. So well, it is what it is. And the whole time the people behind the counter act like they really just don't give a crap. That's my last purchase with for a very expensive set of Michelin, over $2000. I'm done. read more

I tried to buy a set of good year tires and had it sent their but they kept changing the time and were rude when contacted, I had my tires sent to a different shop for installation and don't recommend them. They aren't as good as they may seem and are selective who they serve right and don't. The good reviews are those they chose to serve bad. They have selective service who they treat good or not. Had a tire plugged. The plug failed. When I called with a flat tire the next morning there was no effort on their part to come repair it. Instead, I was transferred twice then told that they can't "send someone out without a guarantee of knowing they can fix it." After I called back their solution was to come put air in the tire which I can do myself. I was issued a refund but still won't be using these guys ever again. read more

Took my wheels and tires to two other namebrand tire shops to have them mounted, and they were unable to do it. These are special drag racing wheels/tires and it took someone with special knowledge. Not only was Moody's able to mount and balance them, but they did so in record time, without an appointment, and for a far better price than I could've imagined. I wish all car service places were like Moody's. True, the building looks a less modern than newer chains in the area and the wait area a little out of date. But they have free wifi and good cool air while you wait - which usually isn't long. The real reason I like Moody's is the great pricing and excellent honesty. Mr. Moody is a man of outstanding moral character and it's reflected in the actions of all of his employees. They are fast but comprehensive in their work. They'll be honest about the condition of your tires and car and never pressure you or up-sell you. If you need new tires, they'll find the exact tire you need somewhere in town if they don't have some in stock. They once even tried to talk me out of more expensive tires! read more

I had tires installed on my muscle car wheels, and the tech damaged the wheel badly. If you have nice rims, use another shop. Also, last week, I had a tire repaired on my Jeep at Moody's, and the tech torqued the lug nuts so tight that I couldn't loosen them with a normal tire iron. I had to use an 18" breaker bar, and I busted a socket in the process. I'm just glad that my wife wasn't stuck on the side of the road, unable to change a flat. The torque was greater than 150 ft/lbs (per my torque wrench that maxes out at 150), I estimate it was closer to 250 ft/lbs since I had to use most of my 260 lb body weight with the 18" breaker bar. Lucky that it didn't snap the wheel stud. read more

Wish I would have read the reviews first and I may have gotten my truck fixed today by just going somewhere else.Was told to bring it in early (7am) and they would get it diagnosed by lunch and fixed before the end of the day.At 4 pm they called and said they needed another day;just couldn't get to it(something about a $4,000 job ahead of me).They can't help it.It wasn't like that years ago.Franklin has quickly become Antioch West and Moody's is just overwhelmed I guess.Nice enough I reckon,but they didn't seem to understand a simple evap leak and a simple smoke test.I told them that I tried a new gas cap and that definately wasn't it:eng light still on after required cycles.They were half the price for the smoke test compared to other shops and I see why now.You probably should just stick to getting tires there. read more

I pulled in with a flat at 4:08 pm. They told me they didn't have time to put my spare on. I live 45 min away in Columbia and after explaining that they still told me that they will not help. Thank God there's a tire place directly across the street. I drove slowly on my flat to the other side of the road and they had no issue putting my spare on. They said that happens at least once a week someone not being helped and having to go to their tire shop. I believe the tire shop is called C and F tires. That place gets 5 stars. read more

Had front suspension parts put on my car and stopped by for an alignment. They did the alignment and charged me for it but told me that I needed a camber kit. They told me to bring it back and they would put it no charge. I did so and they insisted on charging me for a new alignment. The guys that I talked to for 45 minutes told the manager the they had no memory of the statement or who I was. GATEWAY TIRE WERE COURTEOUS AND EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE VERY BUSY WITH LEE COMPANY FLEET TRUCKs AND POLICE CARS, got my car in and showed me that I did not need a camber kit. They realigned the tires including the left rear that Moody's had left out of alignment. Moody's are liars and don't even get the job done when they want you to pay for it twice. They will cost you time and money and you'll still have to get their work reworked. GO TO GATEWAY! read more

Work order # 36024. Simple job, install 4 tires that I brought in and perform an oil change. Arrived at 2:30 pm, vehicle moved to the 2nd service bay around 2:50 pm. There were 3 people in the waiting area. How'd it take over 2 hours to perform the work? I actually could see my Jeep and the tire were removed but then no activity past that. There were mechanics walking around, 5 guys behind the counter, and it was clearly the end of the day at 4:30 pm. When I finally got up and started to incessantly walk around the front counter under everyone's nose, someone finally got up and poked their head in the back and asked about "progress". Amazingly, at 4:50 pm you could hear air tools and someone figured it out it was nearly quitting time. I'm thankful Moody's wasn't closing at 7:00 pm or I'd still be there. Sorry, but there appears to be too many front counter folks walking around instead of managing the work that's being performed in the back. Maybe they have enough customers, but they just lost a customer that's been going to them for 15+ years. I'll take my 3 vehicles elsewhere in the future. read more

HORRIBLE. I am very late in posting this. A friend just called me to get a recommendation on a local car service store. His request reminded me I never posted my complaint last year. Hopefully by doing so, it may save others lots of grief and money. Here is a letter I sent to Jimmy Moody in March of last year. ____________________________ I am writing to you as a follow-up to our call on Monday. As we discussed, the oil cap was left off of my engine when Moody's serviced my Rav4 on Saturday March 21. Thankfully, an out-of-town trip I was planning to make upon leaving your business was cancelled, and I only drove from your shop to my home, 18 miles away. The thought of getting on the road with my 2 boys with an engine with no oil cap disturbs me greatly. This is the SECOND time we have had this happen. Your servicemen left off the cap on our Jeep engine last year, causing oil to be splattered all over his engine. Thankfully, we had not gone too far, and returned to Moody's for you to clean his Jeep and correct the problem. I feel certain that such unnecessary mistakes are not isolated incidents, but rather a sign of a larger problem among Moody's employees. What has happened to the great care and excellence that was the foundation for Moody's success in our community? Next, your servicemen put too much oil in both the Rav4 and Jeep when servicing these vehicles Saturday, and I had to pay a mechanic to drain the excess. Although you mentioned to our mechanic "it was no big deal", both of the cars manuals stress that it is dangerous to overfill with oil and can cause damage to the engine. Furthermore, a call to the manufacture reinforced what the manuals state. Putting too much oil in these engines IS a big deal and it is careless and unprofessional to think otherwise. I wish that I could say that these two incidents are not the only issues we've had with Moody's, but they are not. In the past, each time that I brought my Rav4 in for the 3,000 mile oil change, I asked that the tires (which I purchased from Moody's) be checked, rotated and aligned if needed. To my surprise, in November 2018 I was told that I had to new purchase tires prematurely - long before the expected end of life of the tires. I was told that this happened because the tires were not rotated and aligned regularly. Seriously! Why didn't Moody's do this when I requested it when I was in your shop every 3,000 miles for an oil change? It was not in our family's budget to purchase tires so soon, but I felt I had no choice in order to insure my and my children's safety. To help offset the expensive purchase, you gave me three future wheel alignments at no charge which have not been used as of this email. I would appreciate you sending me a check for the 2 oil changes that were performed this past week as well as the cost for the 3 alignments that I have not received: $43.15 - Rav4 oil change when you left the cap off $46.04 - Jeep oil cchange when you left the cap off $254.85 - Three $84.95 alignments still owed to me Total: $344.04 _______________________ I then emailed THREE more times, and called and left 5 phone messages over the next 3 weeks. I was told that "due to Covid" the owner could not call me back. REALLY? And he also could not reply to my 4 emails? I later received a call from the office that offered 15% off my next service? REALLY? NO. THANK. YOU. Our family has used Moody's exclusively since 2010. For ALL of our cars. I can assure you 2019 was the end of that relationship. read more

They have always been fair in their dealings and sensitive to cost conscious (or cash strapped) customers that might be living on a fixed or challenged income. Made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation at 8:00am on a Friday and the car didn't get taken back until 9:45. By the time they finished it was 10:50...almost three hours for an oil change and tire rotation. Not sure what the purpose of having an appointment is if the wait time is just as long as if we had dropped it off. If we knew it was going to take that long then we would have made arrangements to just drop it off and not wait. Very disappointing. We will NOT be going back. read more

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business. They used to be one of the best businesses in Franklin. They gained customer loyalty with incomparable service. This is no longer the case. I recently thought that I would give them another chance so I called about new brakes on my SUV, was told that if I brought it in that morning and could leave it, they would have it done, but it might be late afternoon. After dropping it off, I waited on a call and by 5:00PM was afraid that they might close without having called. When I called, "Mike" tells me that they haven't even looked at my vehicle and said it in a way that sounded like I was expecting way too much. He then told me that they might get to it the next morning. I had been without the vehicle all day and, of course, needed it to get home that night. I picked it up and won't be back!! I have a Mercedes Benz clk 320 the check Engine light was on I had the worst experience of my life with Moody's they keep my car in there shop for roughly 2 months it sat in there shop for a month before they even looked at it they charged me $781.00 and couldn't fix my vehicle and would not refund my money if you have a foreign vehicle I would highly recommend euro fix in Franklin they had my car fix within 24 hours and they also had to ship the part to euro fix from another state. read more

Recently had all tires replaced on my Dodge dually.They did agreat job and appreciated them showing me a tire by same tire company that was a couple of dollars more but came with a much better waranty. The reason for the tires was that I had bought the truck used and the tires were in awful condition and vibrated so you could not drink your morning coffee. Took to Jim Moody and had one of his men take the tires and rebalance and work with them for the day and they worked so much better. However, he pointed out that this would not last long but to go on and get another 4000 to 5000 miles of wear and then lets replace. Got it done,fair price,great work. Had issue with sensors and the next thing I knew they had 3 people working on it and all I had to do was drive down road and it corrected it's self.Love the tires and look forward to a long and awesome trip. Have had good service (mostly tire) at the original Moody's on Columbia Pike so thought I'd try their new location closer to home. I had an oil change and a radiator flush. Everything went well with no issues developing later. Only issue I had was they did not specify what brand of synthetic oil they used. I know its ok to mix synthetics motor oils but I like to use the same brand. One plus I give them is for suggesting the next motor oil not for something like 6000 miles;most all the other shops (including local Jeep dealer) suggest 3000 which is ridiculous for full synthetic oils. read more
