I have been using Davis for years on my previous truck. When i bought a new one i started letting the dealership do warranty work and oil changes. At my recent oil change they informed me that i needed brakes. The quoted price was astronomical so i checked with Davis. They were well over $1000 less expensive. I also checked another highly rated competitor for comparison. They beat them by a few hundred as well. This auto shop is a hidden gem! Honest, priced well, professional and patient. Brought my car in for a second quote (I have an older vehicle and upon a oil change at Toyota I was given a laundry list of fixings), they gave me an honest opinion on what should/needed to actually be repaired vs what is simply old age. Of course to save a buck, I took it to my mechanic down the street (which is great but engine work is another beast) and one thing led to another and my car was towed back to this auto shop. Seth was patient while taking my calls and never once said "I told you so" and was very transparent and reasonable trying to conduct a repair that was now possibly going to be double the original quote (Seth was very mindful of my situation and worked with me the best he could). I have worked with Davis auto in the past. We had a tough situation with a family member's car. Both times we have taken the vehicle to this dealer in the middle of summer - no air conditioner. Jason always takes the time to listen and is willing to help troubleshoot how to keep a very dated car chugging along. Today was another one of those days. My first experience with Davis was out of necessity and convenience as my vehicle died near their shop. They have since gained all my business including routine maintenance like oil changes. I'm not a car guy, I'm a computer nerd, but was raised by a car guy. The team at Davis treat me with honesty and wisdom. My last repair, they gave me two options, the costly manufacturer part, or they could "do this thing that would fix it" - he told me if it were his car, he'd do the cheaper one, no sense spending all the extra money for the same thing. Jason at Davis inspected it, found one lifter locked closed, replaced all bank one active and non-active lifters timely and within the amount estimated. I was calling around for brake service on my vehicle. This shop quoted me double the price that everyone else was quoting me. When I asked why the price was double everyone else's he tried to convince me that they use better Parts than everyone else. Of course this is untrue as everyone I spoke to use the exact same brake pads. I'm not sure where you buy knock off brake pads maybe Amazon or Ebay? Once you find a good mechanic you trust, it's hard to leave them. So for 6 years after we moved to the Nashville area, we continued to take our vehicles back to Arkansas for work. Eventually, it was necessary to find someone in the area. At the recommendation of another trusted source, we took our vehicle to Davis Auto for some "minor" work. We could not be more pleased. They have proven themselves over the last few years to be trustworthy with far better prices than we have found elsewhere. Since our introduction, they have done all the work on both of our cars and more than once told us we didn't really need work we thought we did - saving us $$. I trust them with our major work too.
