We were actually going to a different hotpot place but they close at 3:30pm so we opted for this one and we're glad we did! They have a lunch special, $29/person, which is a good deal. They have a variety of cooked food, and meats too. But the lunch special you will get the usually meat but it's fine with us we still actually enjoyed it! They have takoyaki which is really good! They have dimsum, ice cream, drinks, tea which are all part of the lunch special. The staff are really nice too, they are very polite and they explained the menu really well since it's our first time. The place is nice as well, it's clean and spacious and you order from an Ipad which is very convenient. I will definitely come back!
The wagyu was tender and delicious, while the shrimp, abalone and lobster tail were fresh and satisfying. I really liked being able to enjoy both quality seafood and premium meat in one meal.
Parking: Located inside a large plaza with lot's of parking slots available. Ambiance: Very spacious and modern. Self-serve hot buffet/salad/sauce bar. Service (2/5): Service was terrible. I had to get up to flag our server each time we needed something. They never came around to check on our table. Also had to request for ladles/soup spoons. FOOD Hot Bar (2/5): Hot bar was terrible. Items were cold and soggy. Ironic for it being called a hot bar. Featured fries, crawfish, dumplings, etc. Salad Bar (4/5): One of the better salad bars. They had almost everything. Spinach, cabbage, quail eggs, udon, ramen, potato noodles, oyster mushrooms, enoki, squash, tofu, fish balls with roe, etc. Soup/Broth: The selection was impressive but it ended up being on the more bland side. I ordered the spicy beef tallow to start with but asked to switch because it got too oily and they charged an additional $3 which was wild. I've never had an AYCE restaurant charge for switching out broths since they automatically have to top off your broth during the meal, it was always free. - Spicy Beef Tallow (3/5): Great flavor but way too oily and salty. - Tomato (2.5/5): Too sweet and it felt like something was missing. Meats: We ordered the Premium B option. ($52.99 pp) - This option only had two types of Waygu offerings. (Waygu Brisket & Waygu Chuck Roll) We tried four other meat options but ordered only the waygu options for the next rounds as they were the best and we wanted to get our money's worth it. Sauce Bar (4/5): Large selection but I was not a fan of sauces. I always combine and make my own "marinade" at AYCE restaurants and have never had any complaints but sauce bar was also lacking in flavor. - Minced/Fried Garlic - Green Onions - Peanut sauce - Sesame sauce - House made garlic sauce - Satay - Oyster sauce - Spicy chili oil - Ponzu - Black Vinegar Other than they two pieces of Waygu and the salad bar, everything fell flat. I would not make any efforts to come back here.
My husband and I decided to give this place a tried for our lunch date. We went on a Saturday at opening. We were seated without a wait since we were there at 11:30am. The waiter did not ask us if we had been there before or go over the menu. I'm glad we looked it over so we already knew what we would be ordering. We decided to splurge and went with the premium menu. I got Tom yum broth while my husband got the sweet heat. The Tom yum could've been more flavorful but it was ok. My husband enjoyed the sweet heat. When they refill the broth, they don't tell you it's with a plain broth so it does dilute the flavor so keep that in mind. You get to pick a seafood platter or A5 ribeye with your meal. You can pick a stir fry if there's at least 2 people. My husband and I picked the stir fry with caramel black pepper. It was really good. I'm glad we picked it. You use a tablet to order your meats. You can place an order every 10 minutes. 4 item limit for 4 or less people. 6 item limit for over 4 people. There was a decent amount of hot foods. I tried the egg drop soup and it was good. The wings were really good as well. My husband enjoyed the fried rice as well. I was surprised to see a crawfish boil but didn't try it this time. My husband really loved the beef tongue. He said it was one of the best he's ever tried. I really liked the wagyu shirt ribs and the wagyu brisket. They were all tender and flavorful. I was surprised to see oysters and was so happy to eat them. I ate 3 orders alone. I always enjoy the shrimp paste since I get lazy to peel the shrimps, but the tiger shrimps were big and looked good. This place is going to become a regular date night location. Highly recommend.

AYCE hot pot! Prices may seem high but it's well worth the price. Kids under 100 cm is free, while 101-140cm is 40% off. $59/per for highest tier, $49/per for the second tier, and $37/per person for the basic tier. Staff are all very friendly. Very clean, and lots of veggie options and even dessert at the food bar. All get free canned soda and limited drink options included in the basic. Also get free ice cream for dessert. Highly recommend, will definitely be coming back!
My new favorite hot pot spot in OC! The AYCE meat, soup base, sides, hot food bar, drinks, and service are amazing -- all for $36.99 (the cheaper option; the premium one is $58.99). I especially loved the Sukiyaki broth because I've been trying to find a spot that really makes it well, and this place did it for me. I also appreciated how many vegetable, noodle, and hot food options, including sweet potato noodles, sesame seeds, potstickers, and more. At the end, they offer yummy ice cream. The flavors included matcha, strawberry, chocolate chip, and vanilla. The inside is pretty spacious, and the tables are spread out well so you won't be bumping into other guest that much. I went on a Monday around lunch, and the wait wasn't too bad, probably 20-30 minutes. I can imagine this place is busy during the night and on weekends, but I'd definitely come back.
this is my family's new go to hot pot place. there's individual pots for everyone which are a little small but it's nice having your own pot. there's SO MANY appetizers and even ice cream at the end (lots of diff flavors to choose from). good price and very clean
We celebrated my brother's birthday here and I'm so happy we chose this spot. It's one of the better hot pot restaurants in the area. We went with the regular menu at $36.99, and it was definitely worth it. The beef short plate was solid -- I especially liked the cuts. The meat tasted fresh and high quality. The sauce bar and side bar were also impressive. Everything -- from the vegetables and mushrooms to the seafood -- looked fresh and well stocked. They also offer a great selection of small bites like chicken wings, takoyaki, dumplings, and fries. One of the highlights for me was the braised pork -- so flavorful and the fact that it's unlimited makes it even better. There are plenty of soup base options to choose from. I went with the sukiyaki and really enjoyed it. Service was attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout our visit. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be back to try the Wagyu menu next time!
Came here for a simple dinner and immediately knew we were about to eat really well. Moo Moo Hot Pot is AYCE done right. The space is modern and clean which already sets the vibe, but the real star is the food. The AYCE wagyu and seafood are super fresh and flavorful, and the meat seriously melts in your mouth. I loved how customizable everything is. Multiple broth options, a fully stocked sauce bar, fresh veggies and noodles, plus a hot food bar for snacking in between rounds. And yes, they even have boba and ice cream to end the meal. Our server checked up on us every so often if we needed to order more meat which was great! That staff are soo nice! Overall, this is such a solid hot pot spot for groups or when you are ready to commit to eating good. Definitely saving this place and coming back.
The quality of the meats here are stellar! I absolutely love that each plate of meat is labeled so you know exactly what you're eating and can order more accordingly. There is an area where you can grab a few things that aren't on the menu if you've ordered the AYCE. This is where you would grab some sides, veggies, sauce, desserts, apps, and som drinks and cutlery. The servers are very happy to help you here and always seem to have eyes on all the guests to make sure everyone is taken care of. My favorite part of the meal is the special you get to pick, we chose the lobster stir fried, it was absolutely delicious and reminds me that of the ones you get at the Chinese restaurants. The restaurant and restrooms are super clean! I love the black theme inside. I would definitely love to come again for their unique take on ayce hot pot.
Ended 2025 with some MooMoo Hot Pot! Located in a plaza, there is plenty of parking. When you get here, you can put your name down on the iPad via Yelp waitlist. Staff here are friendly, but not really the type to check on you unless you wave them down. Two types of menu - a weekday/lunch special for $36.99 or the premium for $58.99. The difference between the two is the amount of meat options and for the premium, you get double the options. They have a variety of options for your both - I got a newly added one, the tallow spicy sweet broth. There is also a limited item that each person can pick - it can be a chef's special (hot dish) with crispy lobster tail and scallops in a sauce or a raw lobster/scallop combo. We primarily ordered the wagyu brisket, beef tongue, wagyu short rib, and wagyu chuck roll because you can order up to 4 dishes at a time and since I'm paying the premium price, I'm going to opt for premium meats! They also have a sauce bar, hot bar, and veggie bar. The takoyaki was from the hot bar was delicious surprisingly. You can also get free milk tea, a yogurt drinks, and soda as you wish as part of your menu. The sauce bar had a good assortment of options but I was disappointed that they only give you a 3-dish tray for it because it can be challenging to mix it. They do have bowls, but at the time I went, they had run out because everyone probably grabbed it and it was primarily used for those who wanted rice. Personally, I think they need to switch out the sauce trays and opt for sauce bowls. For dessert, I got a matcha ice cream which was part of the menu. It looks like it may be placed in the back, but it isn't and it's something you order from your server. Overall, great meal and would definitely come back again.
Did the lunch special and it's very middle. Not good, not bad. Also their hot pot was leaking underneath the table and got on our pants. The tonkotsu broth was too salty and heavy so would advise a cleaner broth. The vegetable selection is nice with tong ho, variety of mushrooms, bok choy. The meat cuts were ok for the price. Looked at the $19.99 buffet option and it's not worth it. Also looked at the premium option and it's aesthetically nice like the photos, but not sure on taste. The service was kind. We just had the best dinner at Moo Moo Shabu! From the moment we sat down, the staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The hot pot setup is fresh and inviting -- we loved picking out all the veggies, meats, and seafood (the seafood platter on ice was especially impressive and so fresh!). Bonus for families: The kids absolutely loved being able to grab their own sodas -- they thought it was the coolest thing ever! One of the best AYCE Hotpot places i've been to. it's about $60 per person for the premium. If you're a fan of seafood, this is the place to be. They give each table 1 serving of lobster/giant scallops and you can have it cooked 4 different ways or just get it raw. Raw looks more aesthetic for pics, but we opted to get it cooked and it was more delicious imo. Then you can get unlimited tiger shrimp/oysters/abalone/mussels. They also offer 2 wagyu options in the premium AYCE as well as all the other typical meats like lamb/pork belly/ etc. Then you can help yourself to their fridge for sodas, or their drinks station with teas and yogurt drinks. In addition there are specialty drinks you can order included with the AYCE menu. - this is probably where they got me, but i'm not mad. They have a sauce bar included as well as some hot foods like honey walnut shrimp and salt n peppered chicken wings. Then you can also grab more cold hotpot items like small scallops/spam/quail eggs/ veggies. The only knock that i would have is the service was a bit off. It'd be ebb and flows where no one would check on us/take our order. Had to flag someone down. Then randomly 4 different people would check on us b2b. It felt disorganized like we didn't have 1 server but all the servers had to handle all the tables and didn't really talk to one another. It was also a bit odd because we were seated in b/w two different parties and when we needed something someone would check on the table to our left, skip over us, and then check on the table to our right. read more

Great all you can eat Wagyu and seafood hot pot in Irvine. We ordered the option with the lobster and jumbo scallops (actually was half a lobster and maybe 2 scallops). Btw there's a one order lobster/scallop limit. The price actually included unlimited shrimp and I believe mussels and abalone (as opposed to the other option which charged for these seafood orders). For this I thought it was worth the extra $20. We stuck with the Wagyu and I believe ordered three rounds. The meat was pretty good and decent quality. Unfortunately you only get one broth option. And I ordered the bone broth which was super bland. Wish they would give a half and half option so you can try two different broths. Tom yum looked pretty good and apparently one of the more popular broths. You can change your broth but they do charge an extra $3. The vegetable station did have decent variety-bokchoy, Napa, noodles, broccoli, mushrooms. But wish they would be quicker on bringing the veggies out as I had to make several trip. Btw missing the bean sprouts that I love. Overall this place was ok. Wouldnt mind coming back but hopefully they'll be able to stalk the veggie stations more quickly. read more

Our experience with this place was awesome, we came near closing, so we had about 1hr 30min to eat. But luckily we came on a Wednesday so the rush just passed as we saw many parties finished eating. It was literally empty we had the place to ourselves! They explained the menu to us that the membership promo that's going to end this month.we decided to try the premium menu for the membership price. The service was very attentive and kept coming over to check if we needed anything. The meat quality was so good I could taste the distinct texture for each no problem.And an assortment of premium seafood (lobster, jumbo scallops, abalone and tiger shrimp) I ate the scallops raw and it was sweet like sashimi grade LOL. They had a full bar with side dishes with different foods (curry,chasu,tomato egg stir fry, Kung Pao chicken,and a bunch of cold meats and more) be careful bc that can make u fool! They offered unlimited specialty drinks and sodas and desserts as well. This only comes with the premium menus . The interior was clean and beautiful and service was very attentive and friendly. Overall I would say this place is great.Honestly even if you choose the non premium menu , it's still worth it because the bar food is all included and they also service some cold drinks (black tea, green tea, and yogurt drink). Stopped by here for dinner with my girlfriends at 5:30pm on a saturday. There was no wait and the staff was quick to seat us. We went with the premium menu for $58.99/person. I have had a few wagyu hotpot's before and this place is my fav by far! Amazing selection for sauces (build your own sauce bar) but the sauce bar does have peanut sauce so there's is a possibility for contamination for those with a peanut allergy. The ambiance was super chill, we definitely took our time eating and enjoying the food, more yapping than eating but we were never rushed even though there is technically a time limit. As long as there is no one waiting and I believe they are very lenient with the time. The beef was very tender and the seafood platter was good, however we were not huge fan s of seafood in hotpot and we ended up not finishing the platter(they did have a cooked seafood option, but we did not chose it). I would for sure come back for the base tier option and enjoy foods from the hot bar, seems like the non-premium meats are also great quality! read more

Came to MooMoo Hot Pot with my family during their soft opening so the AYCE prices were pretty good deals. The premium price that includes a wide variety of different kinds of seafood and meat + desserts was around $55 each person. The standard AYCE price that only has 6 kinds of meat (chicken, pork, beef) was around $40 per person. We opted for the standard price but even with the limited menu selection, the AYCE bar made up for it! From fried rice, black pepper beef, and multiple soups to iced tea and boba, the mini "buffet" was delicious. However, the buffet area was kind of cramped and was a little difficult to grab items since there's no designated line. The floors were also somewhat slippery which made it hard to hold plates and walk back. The service was okay, as the servers did their job and nothing over the top. read more

We had their normal menu and the meats were fresh, their unlimited bar with veggies was also super fresh and replenished often. I like that they have a hot soup bar as well. I love Shabu Shabu. I love Wagyu meat. The meat is so good! I was looking forward to trying this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. The AYCE lunch option was under $30. To encourage you to fill up your appetite and eat less Wagyu meat, they have delicious hot plates. Crispy salted shrimps. Crawfish. Fried rice and garlic noodles. Three types of soups. The servers took their time to turn on the stove and bring me the broth I knew their tactics to get me to eat other foods. Usually I can resist but their hot foods are so amazingly good. In fact, I would pay just to eat their side foods buffet. There's only two beef options. I didn't want to waste my stomach on pork or chicken. The fattier meat was so good! Wow! And their sauce buffet was very complete. I love it! They have ver fresh vegetables and mushrooms. Their broth was very tasty as well. For Thinsulin fans, there's plenty of green light options. We booked a reservation for 5 people on the phone. They said it had to be 6 but just a few weeks before, when I called to book for 4 they said it had to be 5. They honestly do not have it together... Anyway, when we arrived, we were seated quickly which was nice but it went downhill from there. The host was also a server at some points and was incredible rude. After a long wait, we told her no one had helped us and that it was our first time. She looked irritated and didn't really explain how it worked. On top of that... they don't warn you that if you book a table, you must order the premium set $60+. This was not something I saw online and was not told this over the phone. She also said that of we walked in then we could have ordered the normal menu at $40 which we were planning. They even give you both menus when you sit. If they said that upfront, we probably would have gone somewhere else. Very deceptive and confusing. They didn't have enough servers and we had to keep flagging someone down to order multiple rounds of meat. We got the stir fried lobster option as well. It was a ton of heavy breaded deep fried lobster and seafood and not what we were expecting at all. This was the most horrible dinning experience of 2024 for me and I am still having hotpot PTSD from it. Not sure when I'll crave hotpot again. read more

Really good AYCE! Best we've had in Orange County. I'd say it's a good alternative to hai Di Lao if you want high quality hotpot without necessarily paying the hai Di Lao price. Their premium menu has a big variety and its personal hot pots which is nice. No wait on a Friday night! read more

as a general oc foodie it's hard to find a great ayce shabu spot, this spot offers nearly everything you can find ranging from self serve sauce, appetizers, soups, drinks, and sides! the normal/lunch includes meats while the premium menu of 57$ includes seafood, wagyu, and existing meats from the normal menu. the general price difference is by 20$. i came on a saturday night two hours before closing and had no wait. there was a little than half of the room being full. service was quick and friendly! the one thing i did not like much is that the napa cabbage was hard to eat since other places cut it more so it's easy to consume better. highly recommend this place if you are in the area! We'd heard about the lunch special at MooMoo and were immediately intrigued. Finally, on a Friday at 4 PM, we made our way there and were seated right away. My husband and I each chose a soup base (Tonkotsu for him and Mongolian Herbal for me) before heading to the center of the restaurant to explore their self-serve station. There was a wide variety of hot foods, fresh vegetables, seafood, and noodles! To my surprise, they also offered free soda and specialty beverages, including Yogurt Drink, Jasmine Green Tea, and Lemon Black Tea, complete with toppings! The lunch special included four different meat options: Beef Short Plate, Beef Chuck Roll, Pork Belly, and Chicken. Our favorite was the chuck roll--it had just the right amount of marbling and was so tender after cooking in the broth. The food was excellent, though it sometimes took a little effort to get the servers' attention to order more since they were quite busy. Still, the overall experience was fantastic. This has to be one of the best hot pot lunch specials in the city, and we're already looking forward to returning. Location is in Irvine North park, same plaza that has an Hmart. Plenty of parking available. There was no wait when I arrived here around 8 pm on a Thursday. I can see this place being popular. Did the premium menu. Comes to around $150 for two people. My favorite cut was the chuck short rib and the wagyu chuck roll. They have a large selection of soup bases. The hot bar was underwhelming, its mainly where you can make your sauces, get veggies, a few hot dishes and a drink bar. I love that they had a drink fridge where you can just walk up to and choose a beverage. The premium menu also gives you another exclusive selection of drinks to choose from but I preferred the soda drinks over the tea and yogurt drink selection. The restaurant itself is big and has a good amount of staff walking around. We also did the seafood platter. Presentation was beautiful but you only get half a lobster tail per person. I think the lobster and the abalone was probably the higher valued items. The dessert options were either cheese cake or ice cream. They were really good! I think this is a good place to come celebrate or bring you family here if you want to treat them out. read more
