We just had a wonderful family dinner at dada shabu. The marinated crab was delicious! I do not think you can buy that anywhere in Orange county. The selection was abundendent with fresh seafoood, vegetables and noodles for the hot pot. There was also a fully cooked food on the side with fried chicken and rice. The best part was the shave ice station where you can make and add any ingredients like red bean, cherry, mochi and more with condensed milk for dessert. It's been ages since I last had Dada Shabu Shabu, so I brought my boyfriend here to experience it since I hyped it up to him lol. The servers are quick, nice, and accommodating. There's only one area to get the veggies, sides, and sauces which is different from All That Shabu that has two areas for grabbing the veggies and sides. This place was a little smaller, but it was fine. They even have a snow machine for shaved ice dessert. I think I go here at least twice a month. The meat quality and the veggie selection is great but their prepared hot dishes are incredible! After shopping at Zion supermarket tonight, I drove over to Da Da Shabu for dinner as I always see a line in front of the restaurant but have actually never dined here. Ayce selection was great. Food was amazing! I think it's one of the best Korean buffet/hot pot in Orange County. Everything was super fresh. From the meat cuts to all the seafood, vegetables, and pre-cooked bar. All prepared dishes were so good. Fried rice was chewy and tasty and not dry like most pre-made fried rice. You can tell the high quality of it. Glass noodles were delicious and the mixed stir fried veggies in it were fresh and not brown from sitting out all day. The spicy shrimp were excellent. The prime beef was super tender, it melted in my mouth. I couldn't even finish a plate of ribeye prime cut and also the sliced chicken breast. But if you have a good appetite like most people I saw in the restaurant, you would be in heaven at this place. Service was great. The hot foods here are also great! Highly recommend the pork feet, chicken wings, and sesame balls. Me and my girlfriends were on our way back from SD and we stopped by this place. I literally just woke up from a nap and was disoriented so I barely remember the first 5 minutes in the restaurant LOL But damn, the AYCE bar is packed! They have a variety selection and even though it was packed, everything seemed pretty stocked and the bar was also pretty clean. Dang roach went along the side of the fried rice I had just got and went into a crack on the back wall near the kitchen. Not really how I like starting a meal. From the outside you wouldn't expect it to be so spacious but once you get inside you can see that it actually offers lots of tables and a buffet section offering lots of items. I've been going to dad for a while now and I have to say that it is by far the best shabu in Irvine purely for the quality of their ingredients! I've been to Mokkoji, All that Shabu, Hidilao and none of them compare to the quality I've had here. AND it's consistent! The only downside is the lack of parking nearby and sometimes the wait. There are times they get busy so make sure to check in on yelp as soon as you're in the near vicinity (I love that this is an option for this establishment). The servers are usually attentive and very friendly as well so don't be shy to wave them down! They also have a cooked foods sections which is actually SO good, whereas for most shabu places the cooked foods sections seems more like an after thought. I don't see anyone talk about the vegetarian or vegan experience so want to share that! Went with my husband last night. The standard broth isn't vegetarian so we used a divider, and I started with hot water. The sauce bar has lots of options including regular and spicy miso, so I used that and added some other things to make my own broth. After that it was smooth sailing! For lunch they have 4 different protein options to choose from. My favorite meat option was the pork belly and top blade was also pretty decent. We didn't really care for the other meat options. Dada's broth is a simple broth with a sauce and condiment bar that you can add to flavor. They also have dipping sauces at the table for you to do whatever you desire. The self service bar had lots of hot and cold items. And they have unlimited drinks, including coffee and sodas. And they even have desserts such as shaved ice and sesame balls. It's affordable so not much to complain about. The service was good and they will always check on you. But they also have a bell if you want immediate service. We came in on a week day for lunch and it was busy but the wait was only 5 minutes for 2. It's great for smaller groups or large groups.
