The food was fabulous the ambiance was perfect. We were disappointed after another Thai restaurant was closed, but glad we didn't give up the search because Moon was amazing!

We had a good experience. We came on a Wed night at 6:30 only a few days after Hurricane Helene and the curfew had just lifted to be able to eat this late. They had a local IPA (Blowing Rock) - which was a good start. We ordered an edamame ($6.50) appetizer and it was spot on. My bride ordered the Cashew Nut w/chicken ($19) and enjoyed it. I went the sushi route with the Friend with Benefit Roll ($19) and Maguro Nigiri ($8) and they was pleased. Service from Aun-Aun was friendly and prompt!

We were so happy with this restaruant. It was interesting that you order and pay first at the desk, then the food is brought to your table. It worked out great. Everything was correct and was brought out speedily. We got sushi rolls and nigiri, massaman curry, cashew vegetables, miso soup, tom kha ga soup, and gyoza. Hot green tea, and iced matcha also. It's was quick, pleasing to the eye, and tasty - all of it. Great vibes with the perfect music playing.

This place is a hidden gem. If you have ANY doubts about going- please don't! The food is amazing- the Beef Pho is what I got and it was delicious. It was pretty cheap for the amount of food they give you too! (Which is a pretty big portion size) The service is amazing, everyone was so friendly, attentive, we didn't need to call for the waiter once. As for the Ambiance, it was really relaxing, nice music, not too loud. Please go and give this restaurant some love!

Food was delicious and portions were generous. Service was excas well. Would definitely return to eat here next time we're in Blowing Rock!

Service- fast and friendly Parking- uphill, not handicapp friendly Sushi- yummy, the fish was a little big but I like smaller smoke salmon to bigger cream cheese ratios in my Philly rolls in general Dessert- ooooffff the hook! The fried bannana with icecream was just awesome and the fried cheesecake was off the hook! I'd go back just for the desserts! If we are ever in the area again, I'd like to go back.

Food was fresh and delicious!! The portion was large. I didn't enjoy the spring roll too much it didn't seem freshly prepared vs. frozen but the thai rice was amazing!!

Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday, so it wasn't busy at all. Walking to/from your vehicle and the restaurant was interesting to say the least!! Super slanted, but it is the natural terrain so I'm just mentioning it as it wouldn't be good for someone with mobility issues. The service was kind of dismal. Our waitress was very ho-hum. Tried the crab rangoon for an appetizer: four small, bland rangoon for $7. Bah humbug. For entrees we ordered the pho chicken and chicken teriyaki. My husband's pho came out 15 minutes before my entree!!!! In any of that time you'd think our waitress would've come to follow up or explain the delay, but she did not. Instead, a server for a neighboring table saw our empty soda glasses and offered us refills and we asked her to check on my entree. I don't know if the chicken teriyaki sat too long before it made it to our table, but the chicken was dry (I had my husband try it to be sure) and the veggies were limp and mushy. Why the three stars?? I guess because my husband added a bunch of sriracha and hoisin sauce to his pho until he liked it. I waited a day after the experience to see if it got any better/worse in my mind; my husband would go back and I wouldn't.

(maybe) fried shrimp? can't really tell what it is

Disappointed with my visit this time. I've not had a bad experience before, but this time made me rethink drive time to Taste Grill vs quality Moon gave. The edamame were very bland, the crab rangoon may has well have just been rangoon because there was like a teaspoon of the crab mixture in each. If I wanted crunchy chips I would have gone to a Mexican Restaurant. As for the sushi, I feel like I went on a three week drinking binge and just tasted alcohol again and want to throw up. The sushi quality was just not there tonight, on top of this being the fried shrimp tails on the Monster roll? More like nightmare roll. Will spend more time driving for higher quality next time, especially after paying $70 to feed 3 people, all of whom were disappointed. At least the restaurant is cute!

Boone is incredibly lucky to have such a high quality, creative, and fun sushi restaurant!!!…read more First, it's the highest quality fish you can imagine. Then add to the amazing team of sushi chefs and servers who deliver a great experience inside a place that has a very cool vibe. The severs even know how to deal is PITA customers who come in with attitudes - witnessed it first hand tonight. Truly an amazing culinary and client experience you would not expect to find in a small mountain town. Well done to the owner and his incredible team!!!

There is a beautiful bar area, and though we decided to sit at a high top adjacent to the bar, I'd choose to sit at the bar if possible next time to watch the bartender or the chefs. Our server was excellent. She struck the perfect balance between providing excellent attention without overwhelming us. She quickly took our drink orders, while we spent a bit more time looking over the menu. We got two cocktails to start along with the edamame. The blackberry mojito was good, but the Ichigo Fizz was exceptional! I'll defin try more of their sake cocktails next time! For dinner, we ordered three rolls to share. We enjoyed a mix of types of rolls, and while we each had our personal preferences, we found them all to be well prepared, with fresh ingredients and careful presentation. Overall, an excellent meal in a well-appointed establishment!

First meal in Boone... and unfortunately, not my favorite…read more I ordered the Green Curry with pork, Crab Rangoon, and a Thai Iced Coffee for about $23. As someone who loves Thai food and has eaten a lot of it over the years, I may have walked in with high expectations. The star of the meal was definitely the Crab Rangoon. Crispy, creamy, and served with a sweet chili sauce that hit all the right notes. The Green Curry was a different story. The curry sauce itself was flavorful enough, and I actually ate all of it. But the pork had a texture more like pulled pork than the sliced pork I'm used to seeing in Thai curry. It felt out of place and wasn't something I'd order again. I ended up leaving most of the meat and vegetables behind. The Thai Iced Coffee was also a miss for me. I know Thai coffee tends to be sweet, but this was sweetness overload. A few sips in and I was done. That said, this is a college town, prices were reasonable, service was quick, and the Crab Rangoon alone saved the meal from being a complete disappointment. Life is too short to eat mediocre food, so I'll keep searching for my favorite meal in Boone. This one just wasn't it for me.
