We started with Spring Rolls and Crab Rangoon but we ate the spring rolls too quickly. The food was honestly very good as was the service. I didn't really see this as a typical Japanese restaurant as many Japanese favorites were missing. However, the food was really quite delicious so keep doing what you're doing. The place was clean and service was good.

Hubby and I struggled with this rating. We would like to give it 3.5. We ordered take-out, so we can't comment much on the service or the dining experience. We were, though, happy with our experience with placing a phone order and picking up exactly what we ordered, on time, and piping hot. The food...well we classified it as "tasty". If you are looking for gourmet fare, this isn't it, but it was pretty good , just not over the top delicious. Good points: It was a good value. Prices were reasonable. Portion sizes were about right. Shrimp cooked perfectly. Everything was hot. Suggested improvements: use fresh carrots. These were either frozen or canned and were mushy. Add more fresh veggies and less rice. Kick up the soup a notch or two. It tasted fine, but was honestly just broth with teeny tiny bits floating on top. The picture I took of the miso soup looks better than it was in person. Those tofu pieces were teeny tiny! My soup had only one thin mushroom slice. Overall, we definitely were not disappointed, but we were not "wowed" by the food either. Reasonably tasty at a good price pretty much sums up our experience. We wouldn't crave it, and it wouldn't be our first choice, but we would be okay with getting food here again.

Here's their hours posted on their website. Wish I had thought to take a pic if their window. Darn!!

Consistency is important for any business. Compared to almost ALL of the other restaurants in the area, this place is consistenly excellent.

This restaurant seems to be a local favorite. It's basic, tasty hibachi fare. No surprises. Service was quick and restaurant was clean.

Terrible food, don't waste your time and money. Food is from a can. Do your self a favor and just pass this place by.

For context, I'm a South Louisiana gal, who's lived in Los Angeles for 23 years. I've spent the…read moreentire summer here, and I cook...A LOT. The catfish is the best I've had in Asheville, so far. I've tried Good Hot Fish, some of the other oyster houses and the po-boys at Sunny Point, but Crab du Jour is my fave, when it comes to catfish. Everyone is cordial and accommodating here. The sweet potatoes could use a little soul food mama help, but otherwise, everything I've had here has been delicious, from the clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. Selfishly, I want the crawfish season to last longer, but I don't know the choreography of the rain dances to extend that season, so here we are with frozen IQFs.

(2/5 Stars)…read more Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing from start to finish. The service was fair, but the food took a very long time to arrive. When it finally did, the seafood didn't seem particularly fresh, and the catfish was overcooked to the point of being burnt. To the restaurant's credit, they did offer a discount after the issue was brought to their attention, which I appreciated. However, the quality of the meal simply wasn't what I expected. One thing that also stood out was the feedback box near the cashier. It was so overloaded with comment cards that it honestly made me wonder whether the feedback is ever reviewed or acted upon. If customer comments are being collected, there should be a visible effort to address the concerns people are taking the time to write down. I hope this was just an off day, but between the long wait, poor food quality, and the impression that customer feedback may not be taken seriously, I don't see myself returning.

Here was our experience: Ambiance: Very cute old building in Cornelius. Charming set up. Good for a date night or a smaller dinner. 8.5/10 Service: Our server was awesome. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Also, perfectly attentive. 9/10 Drinks: I had a Jack 12 year for $24 (great price) and an Elijah Craig Barrel Proof for $18 (not bad). My wife had a cocktail which was great and lovely. Bartender was super friendly. 10/10 Appetizers: We ordered 4 oysters which were perfect, fresh and well accompanied by homemade crackers and sauces (10/10). Also, ordered the brussels sprouts which were solid but less spectacular than their description (8.5/10). Entree: This is the one area that was a disappointment. My wife and I shared the tuna with crispy potato salad. I was super adamant that we want the tuna seared/ as raw as possible. Neither my wife or I enjoy cooked tuna. We even joked with the server to just "threaten the tuna with flame" as opposed to cook it. When it came out, it was at least 50% cooked with a little bit of pink in the middle. My wife was super disappointed and this kinda ruined her experience. Maybe we should have sent it back but we ate it. 3/10 If the tuna was cooked correctly, I probably give it a 5 star because we really enjoyed it. But cooking the tuna wrong in a michelin star restaurant after how adamant we were is kind of a huge miss. Maybe we will give it another shot.
