Love, love, love this set. May is the best. They have an amazing selection of colors and May will do any design

My experience was so positive. It was easy to make a reservation over the phone for same day/next day appointment. I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes when I showed up for my time. This seems to be a family business, most of the people who work there are related and they seem to get along well, so the vibe was good. The uncle did my acrylic full set with sharp almond shape under an hour. Efficient, professional, and very affordable. I get my nails done every month for the last 10+ years and this is my first time writing a review for a nail place bc they're that good. Glad i found them. Will definitely be back when im in the area.

I love classy nails! All the employees are so welcoming and they treat their customers like family. "T" does my manicure and she does a really good job doing the designs. I also had work done by Jaime, ceecee, and another woman and they do a very good job and make sure that I'm well taken care of . I've been coming here for 2 years now and they never disappoint!

After 7+ years of coming here regularly, I am officially DONE. I always make an appointment, as mentioned in my previous review. But over the last year or so I often find myself being here nearly 3 hours for a mani pedi. Why? Because even with an appointment, I'm waiting 30-60 minutes to be seen. Right now, I'm sitting here at 1:46. I arrived at 12:55 for my 1:00 appointment. All that has been done is that my old polish was partly removed, so I'm sitting here with cotton stuck to my nails. I am beyond frustrated. I've thought about taking my business elsewhere a few times but today is the final straw. Service has gone downhill & I cannot do it anymore

Amazing service , whole staff is very professional & kind ! The shop is super clean with upscale interior so pretty & my nails are gorgeous , just the way I wanted them!

I've been coming here since 2012. I've had Rose, Uncle Dan and T and they've all done my nails and it's been quality work every time!! And everyone who's done my pedicure is just as great! MAKE SURE you book your appointment. They do take walk-ins BUT they do get super busy.

I was visiting my mother-in-law for the holiday and needed to get my nails filled. I searched on Yelp for a few local spots and decided on this one. I called the day before and got a 1pm appointment for the next day. The lady on the phone was very friendly. The next day I walked in and got seated right away. Chelsea was the one to help me and did wonderful job. She was very friendly, did multiple check ins to make sure I was happy with the process, and nailed it (pun intended)! My fill was $40 with gel polish. I will be back next time I am in town!

Loved my nails so much!!! Thank you May again u always do a wonderful job! I will see you soon!

Amazing artist and nail work! Don is great, I love coming here they always do me right with the cutest sets ever!!

Amazing nail salon, Don does great work and always does my nails right with the cutest sets!

I love this place! I've gotten 5 manicures here so far, and they've killed it every time. Super friendly also :)

Maneki Neko also operates a sister concept store called CATCH Little Tokyo located on the third floor of Japanese Village Plaza. [Parking]: As long as there are no special events in Little Tokyo, the Aiso Parking Garage (101 Judge John Aiso St) is your best bet. [Selection]: The shop has transitioned from primarily selling traditional decor / ceramics / cosmetics (which the shop still carries but in a smaller section) to focusing mainly on plushies and blind boxes featuring IPs like Sanrio, Pokémon, and other Japanese anime. Even though an officially licensed Sanrio store is located next door, Maneki Neko still has an excellent selection of Sanrio items that you can't find at the next-door licensed Sanrio store. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shops where I can probably find a Sanrio plush that I am willing to buy as a gift. It is a perfect example of a thriving shop that has learned to adapt by keeping up with changing consumer tastes.

I don't think anything can ever beat the old Arcadia location when I got super cheap and nice cosmetics for around $1 (think Missha and Majolica Marjorca, but this only happened when things reopened after the lock down), but you can still find some good deals here. Similar to the Arcadia location, there's a mix of legitimate items here and a couple questionable, potentially bootleg items, so make sure you check and read the labels and compare prices online and the such. I like how this location plays into the culture and touristy-ness of the Little Tokyo with the daruma statue photo op in front and the pressed penny machine. I'm a sucker for pressed pennies, so this was nice. I've gotten super cheap sword props for cosplay, cute super cheap random character plushies and merchandise (think generic cats), and in an ocean of blind box slop shops in LT, I prefer Maneki Neko in comparison.

Yes, part of it is because it's smack dab in the center, but the main part of it is because a lot of the businesses I like to shop at and peruse are located here, as well as lots of the places I like to get food and snacks from. I like visiting what I deem the "Anime Jungle pit" since eventually the entire underground section was taken over by businesses related to or owned by Anime Jungle, but in that pit, when there's no crazy lines, I like to visit Anime Jungle, Q Pop Shop, Little Akihabara LA (depending on the collab pop up), Kiddleton Kiosk, and maybe I got into the model kit or the TCG/vidya game shop, but not as often. Outside of the pit in the plaza area, sometimes I like to go to Monkey Pants, but it is a small shop, but they have cute trinkets and sometimes character mascots have meet and greet events, Catch on the 3rd floor, Neko Stop, Maneki Neko, Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle, the Sanrio store, Nijiya for quick drinks or snacks, Yamazaki bakery for the meat buns, Mitsuru Cafe for super cheap dango and takoyaki, and sometimes they have cool collab decoration and events throughout this location. It definitely gets crowded and busy here, the parking garage can get quite fisted, so it's not somewhere I park normally, but I will definitely visit.

However, I believe there is room for improvement when it comes to customer service. On multiple visits, I've noticed that one employee, who regularly wears a face mask, appears to follow me throughout the store while checking what is in my shopping basket. At first, I assumed it was a coincidence, but during my most recent visit, my friend noticed the same behavior. Being closely watched while shopping creates an uncomfortable experience and makes it difficult to browse at ease. As a person of color, this interaction was particularly unsettling. I hope management takes this feedback into consideration so all customers can feel welcomed and comfortable while shopping.

Every time I come here I always end up spending a couple hundred for big hauls because I want everything haha, but prices aren't bad at all. This last time I got a free diffuser as a gift with purchase! They also suggested buying these Japanese cough drops since I was headed to a concert (which - good looking out! was absolutely needed and helpful). They even checked the ingredients in Japanese to make sure that I wouldn't have any allergic reactions which was so sweet! Service has been consistently great every time that I've visited here. This last time I went was super early on a weekday though, so wasn't busy at all. It was shortly after they opened because I happened to have an appointment in the area and needed some beauty products for a trip. They were great with answering all of my beauty questions! The only con may be parking when it's busy or later in the day. I've tried coming here at night before but struggled to find parking when the lot was full and there weren't any spots on the street nearby. So definitely try to plan to come earlier in the day/when it's less busy.
