Our last brewery visit of the trip was at Moon Under Water. I've seen their bottles at the liquor store but it's a mixed bag when it comes to how their beers taste. We dropped in on a Monday (around 3:45pm). It wasn't busy and oddly, their beer pub was closed (even though there were people inside). We were informed to go to the restaurant instead. Service was brutal; our waitress messed up our flight and didn't bother to tell us anything about the beers that we had ordered. There were 11 beers on tap. For food, the menu consists of pub favourites, soup & salad, appies, sandwiches, rice bowls (er...) and tacos. Monday specials was $5.00 pints all day/night and a bunch of appies on special. Two flight options were half moon ($8.50 for 4) or a full moon ($10.50 for 6) - 2x Flights ($8.50 for 4) - we went with the drinkgeld dubbel (Belgian dubbel), azacca kettle sour (which our waitress messed up and gave us an oatmeal stout instead), year 6 (barrel aged wheat wine with citra) and pineapple pound town pale ale (no pineapple flavour tasted). Our friends got a flight of creepy Uncle dunkel (dark lager), hip as funk (farmhouse IPA), darkside and azacca kettle sour. The only one I liked was the kettle sour. The rest were bland and mundane. Don't waste your time and money at MUW. Make the short trip over to any of the other nearby breweries: Île Sauvage, Driftwood and Hoyne.

If you need evidence for what the hospitality labour shortage looks like go here. Two people working a packed brewpub on the long weekend. They were the hosts, bartenders, servers, and one had to be the manager. By no means is this a complaint and it has no impact on the 3 star rating. I felt really bad for them. They were working hard. Must have been a stressful night. The 3 stars is because I just don't think this place would be any better even with a full staff. The food was meh. Reminds me of a Boston Pizza without the pizza. Typical bar food you can find pretty much anywhere these days. The flavours and presentations is actually very comparable to the food at Cineplex VIP. Even their beer menu is nothing to get excited about. We came to try their shaft flight but it's only available at their lounge which is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Anyway, if you want the details for the food: - Cauliflower bites with watered down Thai chilli sauce ($10) - For the price you can't complain I guess. Tastes like battered cauliflower. That's the best way I can describe it. - Deep Fried pickles ($8) - You get four bug slivers. They're good. Had a good crunch to them. Again, for that price I can't complain Would I come back? Not to the brewpub. It's a skip. I'd return to try their lounge though.

Fabulous pub. Enjoyed the IPA! The service is excellent and the bathrooms are clean.

This is a cool stop for lunch. It was recommended by one of the other breweries in town. Good selection of food and good prices. We had fish and chips / fish tasted ok but too much batter. Tacos were beautiful great flavor, and the Yam fries were a fabulous. Good selection of beer on tap. I'll bet this place is really busy at night.

I wasn't expecting much being a pub, boy was I wrong. I ordered the Thai chicken wrap with poutine and my daughter ordered the red curry rice bowl with chicken. Everything was so flavorful and the service was spot on. Add this to your brew tasting walk you won't be sorry!

She clearly has a lot of experience in the dance that is exceptional customer service. The quality of our meal was also excellent. The Heritage green salad was monstrous and easily satiated the lovely K and I. It was fresh, nicely plated and had lots of all the goodies mentioned on the menu. The Celery soup of the day was also great. We make it at home, so trying a slightly different version gave us some ideas to try. The chicken wings were on special and were plump, very nicely cooked and absolutely delicious. The pub itself is nicely appointed inside with a wide choice of sitting arrangements which we like. The place also has a significant number of folks that were greeted by name, which in our mind is a very good indication of a top quality establishment. One final thing was the washrooms were spotless and smelled nice and clean, from being clean, no perfumed cover up here. All in all one of best experiences for lunch in a long while. We will most certainly be back the next time we are in the Victoria area. Thank you!

We sat within the bar area and the service was great! Really friendly! I ordered the chicken wings - blue moon flavour which is blue cheese and franks and omg they were so good and they gave me 13 wings! A proper pound! No one does that anymore. The wings had some good size to them too I took half home for lunch. Also great cold. They're really sauces wings so if you're not a sauce lover ask for it on the side! Some of the better wings I've had, my only feedback would be I wanted them to stay a touch crispier out of the fryer. My husband ordered the special Oktoberfest spatzle - it was super creamy and oniony just needed abit of salt. The beer here was served ice cold which we loved and my virgin cesar was a winner! So good! Would definitely come back and try more wing flavours!

The young lady working there was very friendly, polite and had a smile. Sat outside it was nice. It's dog friendly which I like. Visiting family on the island thought I would try the Thirsty Crab Brewery. I will be recommending this place. Definitely will be going back before I head home. Every time I visit family here on Whidbey Island I will be going there for beer. I was able to visit before heading home. I would recommend Thirsty Crab Brewery to anyone that likes beer.

Well I will say right off the bat if you are trying to get here by GPS it is extremely misleading…read more You can see the business from the main road but you can't turn into the parking lot there. You need to go straight through an intersection just before the brewery, turn on a dirt road and then it will take you to the parking lot. Hopefully directions have been fixed since then by somebody but if not be patient in getting there. My phones were exhausted and running on empty so alas no pictures were taken here unfortunately. We still needed some GPS navigation to get in a homebound direction. There were a lot of good looking beer options here so what we did was get a taster flight which was a wise choice. Some of the beers we had that made up that was a Key Lime Lager which was great. It tasted similar to the dessert and was easily my favorite. Alpenglow was another, also a lager that was pleasant and refreshing. We continued with the unique brews of a Nettle beer, a mango lager and the May Bee Lager. We also got an order of some of their brats from the food truck here. Those weren't too bad, perhaps not the most authentic I have ever came across but enjoyable nonetheless and pairs well with the beers that they have available here. Fun brewery to go to and one that should be stopped at if you are visiting the breweries, cideries, meaderies or wineries on Whidby Island.
