Roger and his crew are a fantastic group of men, I have lived in my house for 18 years and have had many contractors work at my home. What I like best about Moonvalley nursery is is they have very knowledgeable staff. If you have a tree like theirs and your tree is not doing well they'll give you ideas about how to fix it. They can also come out to your house and assess your soil etc. I just think they're pretty professional. read more

I always buy my plants from Moon Valley they have them in the size you need. I had 8 ficus column's planted and they were not taking hold, with the help of Denise they came out and redid the planting. So grateful they stand by their product. We're absolutely ecstatic about our landscaping experience with Moon Valley Nursery, and our most amazing Ryan Olson! We will share some pics, but first want to express our most sincere gratitude for making the entire process easy, efficient, and professional. There were zero excuses, zero no shows, zero no returned calls. We've all gotten so beaten up with poor customer service during these times of Covid, that we've become accustomed to the pick a number and get in line attitude- it's become the norm. From start to finish with MVN, we never had this feeling, and knew we were dealing with the best of the best. How refreshing! Initially, we were working with a large Phoenix landscaping company that worked tightly with our pool build, which was an absolute nightmare. The rep there never once followed up after a brief meeting. He had that pick a number, get in line air, and made us feel like we should be grateful to be able to even get a landscaper at all these days. We finally rejected this attitude, and stopped in at Moon Valley Nursery. Enter Ryan Olson. What a slice of Heaven he turned out to be! The day of planting came after some changes to our order and design just the week before. Ryan was so accommodating, and assured us that all would be perfect. It was!! The crew that did our planting was no short of amazing. A huge thank you to the foreman Aaron, and Kyle, El Capitan- Chewy, and all the friendly, awesome guys that worked their butts off from start to finish. They all had smiles, and helpful 'can do' attitudes. They were all there to make sure we were perfectly satisfied with placement and planting. What a crew! Well, this is a good place to go to get ripped off, and feel really bad about it too. I went to Moon Valley Nursery in Glendale (Arrowhead) in search of some palms for around the pool. I was delighted to see that the place was so big. But when I got inside, the plants were not very full or that impressive - especially for the prices. I tried to find some nice palms though... so I did some digging into the deep back to get some better, fuller ones. Be careful because the ones closer to the front are the most shabby of all. I was not thrilled, but I thought... if this place does not stock nice ones, then no place really will - so I snatched up the two best ones and put them on my cart. Then I strolled around in search of some vines and shrubs. They did not have Bush Morning Glory and when I asked for Cat's Claw the kid came back with a $20.00 twig that looked like it was dying. I needed some plants with some substance, but they did not have them - everything was very small and shabby - and overpriced -especially for the sizes! When I asked if they had bigger plants, I was told that this is what they have. I should have taken that warning and left. But, I am an armature at this and really did not trust my instincts. I know nothing about gardening in AZ and even less about palms. I have been searching nurseries for sometime now and am really just not finding what I need... so I decided to get the two Pygmy Date Palm trees and be done with it. I paid $59.00 on sale and when I got home and looked at my receipt, it said (in very small writing), "all sales final". Sadly, the palms were too small for the area I needed to put them in, and I really wanted to return them for larger ones, but I couldn't. And even though I told them I was a beginner at this and was not quite sure if these were the right plants, no one informed me of their policy. To make things worse, I just got back from Home Depot, and I saw the exact same plants (same gallon size) there for $39.99 and they were much fuller in their trunks and branches and there was more of them in the pot (4 instead of 3). I was ripped off, and I hate that feeling. I am always cautious of places that state, "All sales final." - especially when everything is on sale, but I did not know. They do not post it anywhere on site that I saw. One of the reasons I went there though is because they are a nursery, and I thought that they guaranteed their plants - NOPE - not if you buy them and plant them - only if they plant them - for a fee! Well, that triple sucks. (Shabby Plants - Overpriced! - No Returns & No Guarantee). I can't afford these kinds of mistakes:-( Just watch out if you go here, and do your price shopping first - so they don't get you too. Now, every time I look at these palm trees, they will remind me of how I got ripped off at Moon Valley Nursery:(( Thanks Moon Valley Nurseries - YOU SUCK! Oh and they sold me a 1 cu. ft. bag of mulch for $6 bucks and at Home Depot, I can't get 3 cu. ft. for $7.00. It's upsetting. read more

The gang was here and planted my new orange tree in timely fashion. They dug a nice hole, put nutrient stuff in, put the tree in and filled it with lovely dirt and poured some of their great fertilizer into it. The last thing they did was put in two metal posts on each side to anchor the tree in case of high winds. They left a nice little shallow skirt around the tree and the whole thing looks very professional. I am very pleased! read more

The absolute best experience one could ask for from a nursery! Sales located the product, showed me what I was getting, made the deal and set up a fortunate 2 day delivery and installation. Installation crew was quick, but very thorough! Put fertilizer in the hole and mulched all around the moat they designed at the base. Very easy to work with as I had identified underground low voltage to be aware of and they couldn't be more accommodating. Gave me instructions how to ensure a successful transplant with extra watering initially and then told me what i should move to ultimately! Really was very professional! I guess I should have read the other reviews on here first. Wow! My personal gripe with today's experience wasn't so much with the product as the service (or lack thereof) that I found. While the nursery was full of employees, nobody seemed interested in helping with anything. I got a lukewarm greeting on the way in and then ignored thereafter. Typical feeling of being a bother rather than a customer would be the best way to characterize it. I realize it's a Sunday afternoon, but how about at least pretending to give a damn? I actually saw employees just hanging about, sitting on one of the big tree boxes near the front of the store and zoning out, waiting for closing time, avoid eye contact with customers. This was right at the main entrance. What a way to project your work ethic. As others have stated, prices at this place were astronomical compared to just about anywhere else I've shopped, from big box stores to competing nurseries. I could understand this if they offered something unique, or better quality or what not, but I saw nothing of the sort. Furthermore, half the items I had seen on their website (in particular section for this location) were not available on site and clearly had not been for some time. Bamboo? Nope. Philodendron? Nope. Definitely one of my pet peeves when people advertise that they have something and it turns out they haven't carried it in ages, or never did in the first place. Last but not least, for an over-priced nursery, you'd think they'd have better landscaping and organization. This place is like a maze, poorly laid out and replete with uneven, broken dirt paths, broken concrete and asphalt roads and pot holes big enough to bury a horse in. I'm frankly surprised that nobody has gotten injured, especially since it seems to be a common theme that parents let their children run amok in this place. All in all, a total disappointment. I left empty handed and when I walked out, I got nothing but apathy from everyone working there, even the gal at the cash register whose face is plastered across the website as being one of their best and most knowledgeable employees. Not even a fake smile or a thank you for coming in, she just turned her nose up. It doesn't cost you anything to show some hospitality, but lack thereof has cost this place all my future business. Stopped by the 83rd and Pinnacle Peak location because we were doing a landscape remodel. Rob greeted us right when we walked in and was so helpful. We didn't know exactly what we wanted but he was there to guide us through what was going to look best in the yard. The selection at this location was amazing. We were able to hand pick 3 queen palms, 3 pygmy palms and a whole bunch of other bushes they had on site. After install I went back to make sure I knew what I needed to do to take care of my new plants and Rob was once again there to help. Wow! Had Phillip Forest at my house today for tree maintenance, had MV plant trees in March 2022 and I signed up for 1yr Maintenance plan. I was skeptical to purchase a maintenance plan but now glad I did. Phillip came with the heart of a teacher and answer all our questions. He also showed us the proper way to prune our trees. We ordered plants for our pool area from Kyle at Moon Valley. When they were installed we were initially disappointed since the plants were tiny and droopy. We called Kyle and Denise who immediately said they would take care of it. Kyle came to our home on Fathers Day morning to inspect the plants and take pictures. He and Denise were upset and very apologetic. Kyle personally picked out the new plants, tagged them and made sure they were the plants to be installed. The installers came yesterday and did a wonderful job. The plants are large, healthy looking and have lots of buds. Denise called to follow up to make sure we were happy. It's wonderful to work with a company that admits their mistake and works hard to make everything right. We will be ordering more with this great company and team! read more

After paying $200 for delivery and planting, and two SUB-par experiences... Moon Valley should be embarrassed! I get in AZ, we may have a "hard dig", on occasion. Concrete might be around. Don't leave it on the property. It's embarrassing, the way it was left. We found concrete blocks in with the river rocks next to the planting. read more

WOW! If I could give more then 5 Stars I would! Xavier Alcartor (X-Man) and is crew were exceptional in their professionalism and going the extra mile to make my backyard an Oasis:) they arrived on time and after placing palms and plants we ordered, Xavier offered some advice on filling in the bare areas with some more palms and showed us different pictures of actual ones they have placed. We gave him free reign to pick some out for us and they were able to come back and plant the same day. He did an excellent job picking out a couple of pineapple palms and then moving a couple of the smaller bushes to balance it all out. He and his crew were all cheerful and made the few adjustments like it wasn't a big deal to them. After working with several crews over the last 8 months putting in a pool, I would say they were the best. They left my yard looking better then when they came and actually showed that they cared about doing a great job and customer satisfaction. My 3rd visit to moon valley, first I had to deal with a guy who seemed drunk and this business let him handle other customers plus I. Erratic driving in the golf cart and pushy sales along with mumbling and what seemed to be an aggressive attitude. I then had to deal with the manager who's name I believe was Sam. Sam wasn't much better, sounding like a true car salesmen, lowering all the prices from what I were told what the final price was even offering me free things. Seemed a little off to me that a business would say hey this is the lowest price manager approved and then offer me another price at an even bigger discount, looks like someone was desperate for a sale and if this is the way you guys run the business shame on you. My 3rd visit about 2 weeks ago it turned around, I was greeted by doug I believe his name was and was helped out by a young gentleman named Chris. Chris was the most helpful of the others that I've dealt with, he seemed more knowledgeable about the products I was asking about and very attentive to what I was looking for, he was easy to work with and made the whole process a lot more simple and smooth than it was the past two times. If that's the way all of your managers are then those should not be the ones in charge. I will be going back to moon valley for Chris, he made everything easy and very personable and my backyard is going to look great with a design he put together for me.
