My husband and I just had Scott and his crew from the Moon Valley Pinnacle Peek location plant a beautiful (Giant) Purple Plum tree in our front yard. We are extremely happy with the whole experience Scott and his crew provided. They were very personable, polite and professional. They all worked very well together and everyone chipped in and did their fair share of the not so easy job of digging the hole to placing the large tree in the ground. The ubiquitous Phoenix nursery. These are scattered all over the valley, find one and use it! Phoenix desert soil is unique and we, (I) insist on planting trees such as queen palms that aren't native to desert landscape. Moon Valley makes it possible to go with tropical, desert (think Palo verde & mesquite trees) or xeriscape. I have five massive queen palms in the back yard, all came from Moon Valley and all have thrived. My original landscaper did not use MV and the results are not good. 12 years in, one of the palms is long gone and one is nearly dead (reason for this review) and one is honestly doing well). Knowing MV knows the soil and secrets to success, I stopped by for advice on how to save my front queen palm. They recommended the Super Palm solution, which I've used before with great success. Loved that they didn't ask if I wanted help carrying the four gallon jugs to my truck, they just did. Pleasant, knowledgeable help, acres of choices, and some great pots and decorating items also. Really, really enjoyed our visit to Moon Valley Nurseries! There is plenty of ample parking and immediately upon parking, your eyes are hit with so many colors that are so vibrant! There were rows and rows so many custom ceramic, heavy-duty pots! The varieties and shapes and colors and sizes were overwhelming but sooooooo beautiful! We headed into the forest of trees, shrubs, bushes and flowers that are scattered around their lot. Such a beautiful sight. To be immersed in that much nature is just amazing. I had no idea what the price of a full-grown tree goes for and now I do. Holy cow. I have a newfound respect for people who spend what they do to make their landscaping look like this. It is not cheap. The employees are beyond knowledgeable and will make sure you know what you're doing. They did not follow us around though and they simply let us wander and take everything in. If/when we had a question, we asked and sure as heck - they knew the answer. After our question was asked, we continued to meander all over their property taking everything in. Great experience! Everything there is more than capable of being grown locally here in our USDA Zone which is awesome. Did I mention all the custom ceramic pots? Simply remarkable. I could not stop staring at them. My husband & I went to the Peoria to pick out a Christmas tree. We met Doug the manager of the lot. He was incredible! He was polite and very knowledgeable! He was very kind, Proffesional, & genuine. He even asked for us to call him when we got home. This was my first experience in a Christmas tree lot and he made it a spectacular experience. This Moon Valley is slightly smaller then their other operations, north Phoenix and Chandler come to mind. But, that doesn't mean they're offering anything less then the full Moon Valley service & warranty we all come to expect. I've heard the stories, but they have always have back up their plants/trees for us. We've been here a couple of times and they do seem to offer better specials then their other locations. The best prices seem to come in the summer, so if you can wait until it's 110 degrees, you should do well price wise. read more

Well, the Palms we got last August from Moon Valley Nursery survived the really hot summer this year. Its been tough and I was a little concerned since we lost two mature Pepper trees this summer (not Moon trees). I was concerned if I am watering enough...watering too much...giving the right amount of Fertilizer and such so I called out the Designer that we started with Eric Martens and asked if some one could come out and take a look?...He responded right away and said sure. We set up a day and he came over and had with him Troy Ford and they took a look! Assured me that the trees are looking good, considering this tough tough summer. I loved so much that a year later I could call them up and have them over to take a look and make sure I was treating the palms right! Again, I am blown away with the level of Customer service that comes with Moon Valley Nursey even after the trees are sold...the warranty's are up...they didn't try to sell me some crazy program to save the trees, when they didn't need it...just put my mind at ease that my trees were doing good and gave me some good tips going forward! I purchased a kumquat tree and a dwarf lemon tree on sale for $550 each (originally $700 each). I purposely bought and planted these trees in January of 2022 to allow the trees time to acclimate to their new location and new soil before the summer heat arrived. By April, the leaves on my kumquat tree were starting to yellow. I went back to Moon Valley Nursery to get some advice on the matter and a salesman told me that I was overwatering. So, I backed off on the watering, but still my kumquat tree continued to get worse. I few weeks later, I came back Moon Valley Nursery and another salesman told me that my soil was mostly likely nutrient deficient and that I should apply Moon Dust fertilizer to my kumquat tree in addition to all my other trees and plants, which I did. I knew enough about fertilizers to not over-do-it, so I followed the instruction to a T. About two weeks later, I noticed that all my trees and bushes were turning yellow and brown, and my kumquat tree got rapidly worse as if it was poisoned. I returned to Moon Valley Nursery with some photos of what was happening in my yard. I even brought in some branches and leaves to show them. I spoke with two different salespeople both having a difference in opinion as one believed the problem was due to overwatering and the other believed it was due underwatering. No real help. For the next few weeks, I experimented with watering more and then watering less to see if the tree would respond to either, but unfortunately the tree just kept getting worse. In desperation, I went to another Moon Valley Nursery in El Mirage and spoke to a group of salesmen who happened to be standing altogether near the entrance. They all opined about what they believed was causing the problem and some said overwatering while others said underwatering. We talked about water frequency per week, AM watering vs. PM watering, and drip emitters, specifically gallons per minutes (GPM). As it turned out, I was watering correctly according to their recommendations. They all pretty much agreed that Moon Dust was the wrong recommendation due to its propensity to cause shock especially in warmer weather. I offered to pay for a tree expert to come to my home to assess the situation, but I was told there was no point as the damage was already done and the tree would recover after the summer heat was over. For the remainder of the summer, every tree and bush that I fertilized was on the verge of dying. By August my kumquat tree had clearly died so I returned to Moon Valley Nursery to see if there was any warranty or price break they could give me considering how much I had already spent with them, and how often I came back to them for help in an effort to avoid this very thing from happening. A salesmen assured me that Moon Valley Nursery would indeed take care of me for all my troubles and work out some special deal for me. The special deal was that they would allow me to purchase another kumquat tree for the same price as before while also charging me extra $250 for planting and another $100 for moon juice. In total, $900 to replace a tree the size of an exercise ball...the same tree I paid $550 just 6-7 months prior. Sound like a deal to you? It was just insult to injury. I told the salesman that it wasn't much of a deal. He admitted that he didn't have the authority to offer special pricing and that he would have the store manager give me a call the following day to discuss the matter. I knew at the time that I would never receive a call and I never did. So now I am out $550 for a small tree. People: Lowes and Home Depot sell trees and plants for a quarter of the price, and they warranty them for 1 entire year regardless of the situation. Yes, the trees will likely be younger and smaller, but they will grow older and bigger in no time. Over the years, I have purchased lots of trees and plants from Lowes and Home Depot that grew big and hardy. If you are looking for something special, then I highly recommend you avoid Moon Valley Nursery and seek out the other nurseries located throughout the valley that offer better pricing, better warranties, and better customer service. If the Moon Dust had killed everything in my backyard, I would have been out $12K and Moon Valley would likely care less. I will never buy anything from Moon Valley Nursery ever again. read more

Not My experience but my grandmothers Terrible experience especially for this time of year my grandma who is 68 years old went down there to grab a tree on her way back home from visiting me purchasing a nice tree about 6 1/2 feet tall they had her tree loaded up or so she thought on the way back home her tree fell down they didn't tie it right at all , all the ropes was loose so we tried calling it in and telling them what the problem was they proceeded to ask my grandma for pictures of the incident (keep in mind she is elderly and dose not have a camera on her phone because they don't believe her and continued to say repeatedly "We've been Scamed before" if that's the way that you can treat a 68 year old women I do not want to do business with you the person they had helping her was Doug who was a terrible representative of the company he kept implying that he "needs to protect himself" from said scammers also kept implying that my grandma was lying by far the worst Christmas experience we've had in a while he was also saying that it's okay that what happened has happened before it's not a big deal and she should just buy another one A Ridiculous customer service act if you ask me! I Personally Will Never shop here again and DO NOT RECOMMEND (especially to the elderly the employees try to take advantage of them) Update: spoke to the manager a few days ago and he called us back in to pick a tree for my grandma. They made sure everything was right and even greeted us with hot chocolate and candy canes. We had Eric at pinnacle peak moon valley location at first when with my husband we decided to choose our fruits and flowers tress and bushes selections. I had a great experience with Moon Valley Nurseries. I had had trouble getting a response/quote from a couple of landscapers. I was able to make a next day appointment for landscape design with Troy, and both he and Erik were excellent in helping me design my front yard. The staff was very welcoming from the moment I walked into the nursery. We designed the landscaping together virtually using a picture of my front yard, and then Erik gave a tour of all of our chosen plants and helped to pick out the best trees. Planting was able to be scheduled only several days later. Xavier and his Pinacle Peak crew were fantastic - they showed up first thing in the morning and did the job so efficiently that they were in and out before I knew it - with the plants perfectly placed, fed and watered. Best nursery and service in the West Valley! Much more than just plants....garden accents, sculptures, and LOTs of ceramic pots! Driving into the parking lot, you can already tell the nursery is well maintained and cared for with plush green palms, plants, and trees that line the parking lot and pathways. I stopped by with my kids to look for large pottery pots and basins to accent my landscape and they have plenty to choose from...large (2-3ft), medium(1.5ft), and small pots in all colors and sizes! And 50% off which allowed me to purchase three beautiful big gray and blue pots to hold sago palms on my patio. Definitely NOT your typical Mexican pot and terracotta variety in orange or grays. My kids were even awestruck by all the tall trees that lines each path and wanted to walk through to look at them- it is a huge(!) nursery with every tree/plant appearing well pruned, lush green, and well watered. No dry brown leaves or dry soil and lots of flowering healthy plants! I will definitely be back to buy there for any landscaping needs! Patrick was also an awesome salesman and helped us from the moment we arrived - he was very kind, no pressure employee who even offered to drive the heavy pots to my nearby home with the nursery truck as they were too large for me to even lift. We had a hybrid polo verde in our front yard that became infested with bores. The tree was waiting for the next wind storm to blow into our house, so we went to Moon Valley Nurseries to arrange for the tree to be replaced. Our sales associate (Eric) was extremely helpful in selecting a tree of the same type we were replacing. Unfortunately, the HOA had placed the tree on the forbidden list since we planted the original, so we had to go back to Eric an select another type. Eric helped us select a beautiful Brazilian Pepper and the HOA approved. The tree was planted yesterday and looks great. The crew was very respectful of our property, and we got great advice for initial watering guidelines, and subsequent irrigation. We will definitely use Moon Valley Nurseries of Peoria AZ for all future landscape projects. read more

I can only say WOW!!! The employees are PRO'S and the delivery/planting crew was amazing!! We had a 100% perfect experience all the way from start to finish!! We started with a visit to the nursery to discuss our wants and needs. We arranged for Sam and Eric to come to our house and they helped us design our front and back yards. We lost several trees and some plants over a period of time, so we were basically starting from scratch. We didn't know exactly what we wanted. We did know we wanted low maintenance options. Both Sam and Eric were extremely knowledgeable despite being of younger years!! It was actually shocking that they were so knowledgeable while not being old men with decades of experience!! They helped us determine what fit our wants and needs. Fast forward, our yard looks GREAT!!!! Travis, the delivery/planting foreman and the "Pinnacle Peak Crew" that accompanied him were outstanding both in work ethic and in dedication to a job well done AND it was all done with a great attitude!! They were very patient with my "involvement" during the process!! LOL...Sorry guys!! We had issues during the planning process in the rear yard wherein we could not plant two trees where we planned to because the previous tree stumps were not properly ground down as we were told they would be upon removal. Moon Valley was willing to return the trees and gave us the option to replant once we got the stumps removed. We will use them for the stump removal if the previous guy fails to make it right for us. Since moving into our new home, Moon Valley installed all the trees and bushes. They did an excellent job, and the vegetation has done well. Monsoon storms did wreak some havoc, including knocking some trees over, but Kyle and his crew were fantastic. They were professional, helpful and responsive to our concerns, even triple staking trees to help prevent this from happening again. I worked with Colleen Johnson at Moon Nurseries in Surprise. She was absolutely wonderful. She helped us design our yards and was extremely knowledgeable about the proper trees and plants to use.
