When we first reached out to Danny and explained that we wanted to redo our entire front and back yard, he came over and spent at least an hour or two over two or three visits and helped us plan out our vision for our yard. We had some ideas in our heads, and Danny and Willy both added their expert opinions on some tweaks here and there until we had a final plan we were all happy with. We were quoted a very fair price and the work started the next week exactly as promised. Throughout the project Danny and Willy's communications with us went above and beyond anything I've come to expect from "service companies" these days. It seems like most companies overpromise and underdeliver. But Danny and Willy delivered exactly as promised and more to be honest. They were constantly checking in and making sure we were happy with the progress, and anytime we highlighted an issue (which only happened once and was very minor) or something we wanted to change, Danny and Willy were eager to make the changes and make us happy. You can tell Danny and Willy take great pride in what they do and that is so refreshing. I could not be happier with the work Desert Rose did at our house, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a hard working, honest company that delivers a great finished product

I was a loyal customer for two years. I sent business his way. I was more understanding than most…read morewould have been with his flakiness. I was quoted one price but always charged significantly more depending on which way the wind blew, so to speak. He would always, without fail, cancel/reschedule on me at least once. Then when he did show up he was always very late. I would call him to fix a standard bubbler leak, I can say standard cause I normally do them myself, and he would show up without the stuff to fix the leak and have to come back. This happened repeatedly and was extremely frustrating. He was a nice guy and spoke English so in lieu of going back on the hunt for another landscaper, I reluctantly put up with it. Until tonight. Today I had a regular maintenance. I had 1 very small leak fixed, in which I supplied the parts because he did not have anything with him again. He tried to get $60 more than my quoted price again. I did not have that much cash so he took $40 more than my set price. Which was more than fair given the leak was in the spaghetti line and took 5 minutes and he used my materials. He decided to text me tonight saying he needs to charge me more for my regular maintenance. More??? I was already routinely paying significantly more than I was quoted. He says he charges $100 an hour and can't survive by charging me $160 for my maintenance (keep in mind I was quoted $120 for my maintenance). He was here for 1 hour today and I paid $160 (he wanted $180). If he supposedly charges $100 hour then I have been getting taken advantage of for years and sounds like he owes me money. Let me also say that my yard is standard track home size. I have one tree which I pay a separate arborist to trim. So, as you can imagine, I was livid that he had the audacity to send me this text. Especially, given all I have put up with from him. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. My neighbor had already fired him. I felt bad but after his poor choice to text me asking for more money tonight I now know it is time to go back on the hunt for a new landscaper. There are constantly people on social media complaining about their landscaper and on the lookout for a reliable one. I just don't understand why it is so hard to find a good and reliable help these days. I should start a landscaping business. To be hugely successful all I would need to do is show up, be there when I say I will and do a decent job.

Other companies either took way too long to reply to calls or certainly were not the most innovative people to deal with. We previously worked with one landscaper to develop a design for the entire yard - back and front. While it took much longer than anticipated, it helped to give us a visual layout. This experience however, also gave us the necessary input to realize we did not want to continue working with that organization. The quote from SonoranScapes was the most competitive we received. The work was to complete implementation in both back and front of our property and James's quote encompassed all the work we wanted without cutting any corners. We were quoted nearly twice as much from other organizations. We had a few concerns about the design we had, and James was able to provide us with some great alternatives and suggestions to make the end project look outstanding. He was incredibly easy to work with, flexible and always responsive to any questions we had. We would also mention that James is very "hands-on", besides being onsite most of the time and very involved in the actual work. The SonoranScapes team was great throughout the entire process - they were prompt, respectful, professional, and most importantly delivered a STELLAR final product.
