Simply put the owner is very full of himself, and takes business questions personally. Rather than accept his own coupon, he would rather not do business with you at all and tell you to your face to never come back. i guess he must be busy to turn away customers like that. It was not a small order, being well over $1000 in flowers and trees. The hired help is variable in knowledge and ability. They list their hours as being open until 6:00, but they shut down the cash register at 5:30 and basically chase you out after that. Not welcoming or friendly at all. If you have to have plants, and are willing to put up with people who basically don't care about you as a customer and are more interested in doing things their way, with their pride, and with their (self) hurt feelings than they are with providing you with good customer service, then I guess you could go there. I won't. Not after the way I was treated. I wouldn't want anyone I know or like to go there either. Sometimes it is not about the price, it is the principle. They seem to want to stand on their principle that it is OK to treat their customer with less respect than the dirt they sell, then chase you and your money away when you challenge them on their actions. So I will stand on my principle: I deserve respect as a customer just as they do as a vendor. If they do not want to be honest and respectful, they do not deserve my business, and I would suggest they do not deserve yours.

We had some questions so we visited the office and were helped immediately. They had some great ideas to share with us and suggested we walk the yard with one of their employees. And that's where we met Mateo, the yard manager. He was extremely helpful with great ideas about our project and took the time to walk us through some solid choices to consider. His smile and Texas style firm handshake sealed the deal for me. I'm going back with my pickup truck!

I've always seen a red or white anthurium, but today I set my eyes on the purple they had on display for sale. Never have I ever seen a purple, it was absolutely gorgeous! Ok I'm grabbin one of those for $10 and I bought the last Vitex $20 - I have a few in my garden that love the full sun and bloom beautiful purple flower stalks. Score!!! Last week I scored a Bride of Barbados for $10, another beauty that can withstand the Texas heat. Each purchase comes with a small bag of fertilizer. She loads her trucks with plants from local growers, and at 7:00 until 1:00, the selling frenzy is joined. BUT, don't tarry, for nearing the 1:00 hour, the best of the best are sold out!. What is offered? Ferns, flowering plants for indoor and outdoor, herbs, succulents, annuals, perennials, even orchids...the selection may vary from Saturday to Saturday, but the health and quality of the plants are second to none. The prices? Easily beating those at local nurseries and big box stores. (Actually, we did find Boston Fern at a local grocer for one dollar less, but of lesser quality, in our honest opinions). And if the plants offered are not enough of an inducement, just ask Maria's advice for growing and maintenance of plants. Don't be misled by her down home, and sometimes brassy personality. She is only at this location on Saturday mornings, and all her plants fly by in just HOURS. I believe she sets up at 7am, and I've seen people waiting for her at that time. Usually by noon, most of her plants have already sold and you only get the not-so-pretty plants. All the plants I've purchased from her have been doing amazing and are pest free. Last time I visited she was only accepting cash, so I would recommend taking some bills in case she is still doing that. Highly recommending visiting her if you are looking for a new plant baby!
