Dr. Nicole Vane is fantastic! I needed a root canal and had several old silver fillings that needed to be replaced, and she took such good care of me! She was so accommodating as far as my schedule, and she worked with me to make helpful financial arrangements. Her staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I'm so pleased that I found Dr. Vane and I can't recommend her highly enough; she's awesome. One more thing...her movie selection is outstanding. read more

This is the best dental office I have ever been to. I love the entire staff, so friendly and helpful. Dr. Vane is an amazing dentist and is very gentle making it less painful. I had a temporary bridge that came out over the weekend and Rachelle who is one of the dental assistants came in to glue it back in on a Sunday. Obviously if you have the same problem it won't always work out for someone to come in especially for you, but the stars aligned and I really appreciate her going the extra mile. Moonlight Beach Dental is great - Dr. Vane is friendly, professional and caring as is the entire staff! I really appreciate their more conservative (read: less aggressive) approach to dental care. Dr. Vane is thorough and favors maintenance and monitoring to procedures (at least so far). 4 stars because the office is a tad small/cramped, but I believe they are in the process of expanding their current location (don't quote me on that), which will be awesome and 5-star-worthy! Dr. Vane is a dream dentist. I looooove her approach to dentistry; from her beautiful and unique office decked out in coastal-chic, to the fact that she is always dressed in beautiful dresses and heels while drilling away on patients. I can't stress enough that this is not a typical cold and clinical dental environment. My comfort is always a top concern and she and her entire staff make sure I am good with whatever they have to do, especially because I have a small mouth and I can't be the easiest person to work on. (2 crowns, 3 amalgam removals and replacements). The chill Spotify playlists and Moving Art help distract me and create a very calm ambiance, though you can watch movies if that's your thing. Dr. Vane is as friendly and personable as she is talented, which makes for a really great experience in the chair. read more

I hated dentists, until I went to see Dr. Vane. She is extremely talented at what she does. She always makes me feel at ease and clearly describes what she will be doing and why. She gives sound advice for at home care as well. Her entire staff is very friendly and provides great service. I travel over an hour to go to this office and it's well worth it to me! I actually don't get anxious over seeing the dentist anymore. I had an appointment with the hygienist Natalie yesterday to have my teeth cleaned. She was very gentle, it felt she was giving my gums a message instead of cleaning them. No lie, I fell asleep in the chair as she was cleaning. read more

It's a shame that Dr Vane's staff treats her customers so poorly. I would still be a patient of hers if they treated their patients better. I had a very simple question on my bill, left a message when I first received it, and never got a call back. Since no one called me back and I never got another bill, I figured they found the mistake and corrected it. Fast forward 60 days later I get a nasty email about an unpaid bill. I emailed them back, left a voicemail...no response from her office. I called AGAIN and talked to someone that couldn't answer my question and she made it clear that she didn't have time to "deal with me", and said that someone else would call me back. Still no phone call back. Who would have thought that trying to ask a simple question about my bill would be so difficult. read more

There are a lot of dentists in my area, but I chose Dr. Vane to be my dentist and feel comfortable entrusting her with my dental care, even though it is a little drive for me. From the moment I walked thru the door I knew I had FINALLY found a place to call my dentist. Dr Vane and her staff are so warm, welcoming, calming... and funny. My first visit was to get a second opinion.. She performed the exam and explained her suggested treatment plan.. She also confirmed what I already knew... the former dentist did poor work. My crowns were way to large and a totally different color than my teeth. The news was upsetting and yet reassuring that from this point forward things were going to be done correctly. Forward a week to my appointment for a crown and to replace a silver filling. Dr Vane was so upset and concerned that the other crown from the previous dentist would affect her work, and my health, since it was causing irritation to my gums because of the size she told me she was going to replace it.. free of charge. My first experience with this office was amazing great bedside manners. But in my second appointment I was told I was schedule with dr. Vane and was seen by someone else thank good he was good. But this last visit dr vane removed by fillings and then a dental assistant end up doing my four fills. I am truly disappointed that I was told on the phone that dr vane would be doing my fillings. When I got home my filings were breaking and I can't even get the flossing string in my teeth. This last experience was truly disappointing. I am going to have to pay another dentist to fix my fillings totally not acceptable for a dental assistant to do my fillings. I will not go here again I drove two hours to get dr. I never want another dentist. I've hated even the idea of the dentist due to family practice- I pray they don't read this- but it's true. Dr. Vane is incredible. She and her staff are very knowledgeable, hospitable, and hilarious. Not only does Ms. Vane go above and beyond to explain everything, she makes the most timid comfortable. BEWARE!!!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY! I came in as a new patient after reading all her wonderful reviews. Which I now know she pays patients with gift cards to leave these reviews... Which is against Yelp rules. I came into her office and was please with the cute decor and sweet receptionists. I was early for my appointment as asked my the staff and sat patiently reading her books on anti fluoride. It took them over 1 hour to see me. I saw Dr Vane repeatedly storm up to the reception area yelling at the receptionist. They looked very upset and stressed! I was very uncomfortable and felt like it was unprofessional and just plain mean. When I was finally called back for my appointment I sat and waited another 30 minutes for her to do my exam. When she came in she was all over the place with things that needed to be done but gave no clear explanation to why I needed to do thousands of dollars on so many crowns. My previous dentist that I loved took great care of me until the day he retired and the last appointment I had he said everything looked great. So I'm confused as to what happened. After seeing a different dentist for a second opinion my suspicions were confirmed and I did not need that many crowns. It's scary to think that a dentist that you should be able to trust can take advantage of patients like that. The entire exam seemed really rushed and I felt uncomfortable again as she criticized her staff in front of me another time. The staff was always very nice and accommodating but for some reason she was very rude to them. She even told one staff member that they were "WRONG" in front of me. They looked humiliated. Another thing that I thought was very odd was that she claims to be very holistic and has many holistic books in the waiting room that advise against fluoride, yet she gives out fluoride toothpaste and they polish my teeth with fluoride paste. I guess I'm just confused as to what her views really are. Another thing that drew me to her office was the fact that she advertised as having a very relaxing environment. The entire experience was anything but relaxing. It was VERY loud and chaotic. I would never suggest this place to anyone who does have dental anxiety. This place was referred to me as I had moved and needed a new dentist. I went for my check up and all was good. Had a new crown put on... Minor issues with insurance.. You know the drill they tell you what you owe then you get work done then you owe more? How is that? They already confirmed with your insurance how much you will have to pay? Then I was in an accident and had face trauma.. Emergency doc said my teeth were okay but I wanted a second option. I called Moonlight Dental and they were going to get me in before Xmas.. I get it people are busy.. The receptionist took my call and said she would call me by 12 noon to verify appt. Never heard from them. 2 days later I called again and the voice mail said my call was to be returned by the end of the business day.. Never heard from them.. It's 2 weeks later? read more

Avoid this place. I went to Moonlight Dental because of all the great yelp reviews, but take note of the negative reviews because they are spot on. Their egregious disorganization was extremely frustrating and unnecessarily wasted a lot of time. My husband and I got our teeth cleaned here (the hygienist was great -- thorough and nice-- this was the only highlight) They had a lot of high tech machines and Dr Vane spoke like she was on top of it. She recommended that I redo my crown/root canal and made it seem like it was urgent. However, I never received any follow up from the office after they told me that they'd send me a treatment plan that day or the next. I called several times, and they kept telling me my treatment plan was on its way. I got tired of their bad follow through, so I went to another dentist for a second opinion and treatment. When I finally did receive a call from Dr Vane's office, they let me know that they were delayed because they lost the notes from my appointment but will call me back when they found them. I never received a call back after that, not that I would consider going back. Not sure how they lost my records considering they had at least 2-3 people working the front of the office. On top of that, they lost my insurance information, and billed me instead of my insurance ... over 3 months later. This is after I called before my appointment to confirm they took my insurance and them photo copying my insurance card. Losing my appointment notes and insurance information shows their lack of diligence and that they cannot be trusted with private patient information. I had to pay out of pocket for my cleaning; since they did not bill my insurance until the following year, those charges were not included when calculating my maximum annual benefit and unfortunately I maxed out my dental benefits that year. I regret choosing Moonlight Dental, but I'm glad that I only had a cleaning and got out quickly. read more

My wife went there for some work with Dr. Godes before she left to go somewhere else. Our x-rays were there and we needed them for our NEW dentist. My wife called, the Dentist called, for over four days at least seven time we tried to get the x-rays. This morning, Thursday July 7 the Dentist called and said, "we need them now, the patient is coming in one hour." ALAS nothing. No time left. I always thought regardless who I use, I would always go back to my old dentist once I move back in a year or so. I'll tell you right now that even if I lived as far away as San Francisco I would without a doubt continue to go to Moonlight Beach Dental! Let me tell you why. First of all they are Professional and extremely knowledgeable. How calm and comfortable they make you feel when you are there is just short of amazing. And talk about top notch work at very reasonable prices. My old dentist in Newport was an okay guy but talk about expensive! Just another great thing about Moonlight Beach Dental, incredible work at very fair prices. If you want to talk about customer service they are over the top! Here's one reason why. Today is Saturday the day before Super Bowl Sunday and I'm experiencing the worst tooth pain because of a cracked molar. I called Dr. Vanes office to leave a message to see if there was anyway I could see her this week. She actually checked her message (on a Saturday at the office) and called my cell phone because she was genuinely concerned about how I was feeling. When I explained to her what was going on she not only called in a couple prescriptions, she is going to see me tomorrow on Super Bowl Sunday! Spending money at the dentist has NEVER felt so good until now! Recently I finally educated myself on the dangers of amalgam (mercury fillings)-something that I had a whole mouth of since probably early teen years. (and I'm 46 now) Looked up certified IAOMT dentists in the area and so glad I found Dr. Vane, her wonderful staff, and beautiful office!!! To have a medical professional accept and understand the dangers of these amalgams first off, is a blessing in itself. (dentists are brainwashed early on in school that they are safe) But to also have a strict and certified safe removal and even help with chelation information afterwards I am so impressed. I just had 1/2 my mouth fixed yesterday which included a 3/4 crown on one tooth. I literally sat in the chair and watched her 3D printer in the corner chisel/make my crown in minutes. It actually fits and works better than my tooth ever did and have absolutely no discomfort, pain etc. Going back Monday to have the left side of my mouth fixed and have 4 more of those ugly, toxic fillings removed and can not wait! I just can't say enough about my experience at MBD-it is so nice dealing with a competent business/staff. Dr. Vane cares and it shows-the night before my first sitting I got home to find in the mail a hand written note from Dr. Vane thanking me for finding MBD and for entrusting them for my care. I have NEVER received that type of formal correspondence from anyone in the medical profession EVER! That is the way to run a business and keep people coming back. I love Dr. Vane and her staff! It had been two years since coming in to see her. I completely ignored my reminders for cleanings. You know how it goes - life gets busy. I finally came around to scheduling a cleaning, but also needed to be seen ASAP because I thought I had some sort of infection in my gums and didn't want to take a chance waiting out the 4 day holiday weekend. Lamar was able to get me in for a last minute appointment the following day. He put me on standby that day and called me the next day to let me know an appointment opened up. The hygienist was so thorough, gentle and super nice. I love that Dr. Vane is very holistic and natural-minded, too. Dr. Vane is really gifted at what she does. I love that she never stops learning. There's too many doctors/dentists who just reach "it" and stop. Not her. She's always learning about something new! She's sweet, upbeat, and funny. Her office is really clean and modern, yet it doesn't have that unwelcoming/sterile feel to it with that funky clean dental office smell (one of the things I used to hate about coming to the dentist!).
