Hit and miss I'll say it again... But damn this time was EXCELLENT. The country gravy had great flavor the chicken fried steak was on point and not chewy. If they can just keep it consistent i would be here every weekend. The only thing that was off was they gave us small packets of butter for our bread. I took my family there this morning after flying into town. We had an early morning flight and we were ready for breakfast. Typically diners are great because of their diverse menu and they typically excel at breakfast. This was not the case. I ordered a simple breakfast of eggs, sausage, hash browns, and toast. I ordered scrambled eggs and unfortunately they were terrible. The worst eggs I've ever had. They were dry, unseasoned and nearly inedible. People have widely different perspectives and desires for their perfect eggs. But scrambled eggs should be relatively bulletproof. They need to be hot not overcooked and seasoned well. The sausage was clearly precooked sausage that you would get from a free hotel breakfast. Just a very forgettable plate. I like diners but this one is a miss. Go somewhere else this place is not worth it. read more

I struggled rating this place. The service was a 5 The ambiance and decor are a 5 My wifes breakfast was a 4 My over medium (?) Eggs were a 2 This place is probably a solid 4 most of the time. My breakfast this morning would have been a 4 if not for the eggs. Im pretty sure my over medium eggs didn't spend much time on the very hot grill. The whites had a little browning on them which is a good sign but once I cut into the whites I was treated to a river of liquid clear egg whites. Not over easy, but raw. Mistakes happen. Stayed at the Hampton next door and was looking for a nice filling meal. Found Moonlight Diner on Yelp, saw 4 stars and made the decision to walk over in 28° temperature. Followed their mask mandate and walked in. Upon entry was greeted by either owner or manager and was asked if I wanted a table or sit at the bar. I sat at the bar and was given a menu. While deciding to order, witnessed a worker making a milkshake and was like why not. I ordered a bacon guacamole burger with fries and a salad, cuz I was going to order a shake afterwards, trying to be a tiny but healthy. I asked if they could cook the burger medium rare, he said yes, asked if i can have the bacon not crispy, he said yes, and I added pickles at no charge. so I placed my order. Salad was a small side salad, but was very cold and fresh. Burger came out looking scrumptious and the fries looked good. Took a bite of the burger and it was juicy, had great flavor. The pickles gave it a nice salty kick, the guacamole was fresh, unfortunately a large chunk of avocado skin was in it. Luckily it barely had a piece bitten out. I set it aside. The fries were hot, and nicely flavored with salt and there was quite a bit of them. As I was eating, the place began to get really busy. I was close to finishing my burger, with plenty of fries still to eat and out of nowhere the manager guy puts the check by my plate. I was pretty bummed. No shake for me. As I handed him my Discover card, he said we don't take Discover, so instead I gave him my visa debit card, and at the same time, pointed to the avocado skin and said that was in my burger. He said I'll tell the cook. Service was almost great, food was almost great, so gave an almost great tip. No discount given. Kind of expected that. Definitely a 4 star place. Such a cute, cozy place that stays busy! We got lucky on a Friday morning and were immediately seated at the counter. Groups kept pouring in but seemed no more than a 20 min wait. The manager was our server and he was friendly and attentive. At the end of our meal, we asked for some tips of stuff to do and he gave some great ideas of which I was so appreciative. I was starving and only got a pic of the green pork chili but it was delicious! Had just the right amount of spice. Def give this CO fave a try. We also had a bacon cheeseburger, side salad, and the traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. Everything was cooked to order and tasted great!! The portion sizes were huge! We ended up going back for a snack on our way back to the hotel in the evening. Got the medium chicken wings - delish and huge! Highly recommend. They don't have a hot, just medium and nuclear. Odd location but i come from the east coast megalopolis. No offense to the locals but Denver air port is in the middle of nowhere. Our airport hotel is many miles from the airport also in the middle of nowhere. Across the street from the hotel is the Moonlight Diner. Hotel staff said "it's always busy" I now know why. Wife and i split the Big BBQ breakfast. Eggs, Hash browns, Toast,Pancake, smoked sausage, pulled pork, Brisket. i had a pickle bloody Mary and She had hand made banana shake. all of which was delicious and took 1/4 of it back to the room. Their meat is done on premises.The BBQ Breakfast is a great way to sample. Really Good meal read more

I've driven past Moonlight Diner often when I'm in Denver, and I'm glad we stopped in recently. My first thought was that this place does justice to the image of an American diner. The decor is very old fashioned, and while service is friendly, there's a bit of hustle-bustle when you walk in. There were plenty of people here, but we were still able to be seated right away. They serve cocktails if you want them, but I opted for water, then chose the biscuits and gravy; my wife ordered the corn cakes with chicken and green chilis. The meal showed up before long and was very delicious! The biscuits and gravy came with sausage gravy as well as a sausage patty on each biscuit, which was something I'd never had before. If you like breakfast meats, this was a good value; it also came with hash browns and eggs and only costed $7.99 plus tax. My wife's meal...wow! Although there's traditional diner fare here, this was a very modern tasting blend of flavors, and I would highly recommend ordering it if you're looking for something new. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Moonlight Diner and will be back next time we're in the area...it's worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

i come here a lot, it's my favorite place. this last time though, i came with my family and it was a terrible experience. we came for my birthday & the food was good but the service was not good. i found out that while i went to the restroom after my our meal, my sister asked our waitress to sing me happy birthday when i came back from the bathroom and she agreed. we sat at the table for about 15 minutes after i returned and asked them what the hold up was, they said nothing and we had to get up from the table and go to the POS to ask for our check since it was never handed to us. it was frustrating that they were expecting a birthday song for me when it never came. i get it, i work in the service industry, i know how overwhelming it can be but when you are talking to your friend (another waitress) it gets to be frustrating to see. read more
