Great beer and awesome pizza. We live 3.5 hours away and were camping in the area. Thought we would give it a try. Went twice that week.

Admittedly, this will be a narrow review. I went to Cornell to find someplace for lunch. Just a note, Moonridge will not show up for "open now" selection during the day yet. Yelp only shows that it's open for dinner, but that is not the case. For lunch I had the pulled chicken sandwich with macaroni and cheese and grilled vegetables. The sandwich was delightful. The bread was excellent though I only ate half to cut down on carbs. The chicken was good, just be aware if you're super picky it is a mix of light and dark meat, but the accompanying barbecue sauces, regular, sweet, and spicy, are all really good. I had a hard time deciding which one to use so I just made a few different pools and alternated my dipping. The grilled vegetables were fine, but I thought the macaroni and cheese was really good. It was not gooey or super creamy. it was just macaroni with cheese. I don't know if that makes sense or does it justice because it was delicious, but it wasn't super heavy, thick, or greasy. I really liked it a lot. Now it appears the place is more famous for being a brewpub and I did not sample anything so I can't speak to that. However, the bar area was nice and the dining area was very clean. I did speak to the owner a little bit before I left and he was a really nice guy. I observed the way he interacted with other customers that were there and he was super nice to everybody. The ambience is casual but nice and clean and the service was friendly and professional. I travel almost every week for work and keep a list of places that I enjoy eating at and Moonridge went on the list today. I can't wait to try something else there. read more

The beer is just okay. They have a bunch of seltzers on tap, too. Decent looking food menu, I've have the spent grain pizza before and it is quite good. Outdoor deck seating facing west. Mostly street parking. Friendly service. It's a brewery, the beer should be the star, and it isn't. read more

Excellent little brewery right in town. Awesome decor and a nice patio. You order your pizza separately at one window, and your beer from the bartender. Service was fast and friendly. The pizza was great, we tried the Meat Stacker on the spent grain crust and loved it. Just a note, open a tab if you're using a credit card, they have an understandable $3 fee per transaction. Prices are super reasonable, so not an issue at all. read more

If you're looking for a unique pizza joint this is the place. I'm used to NY style pizza but their offering of beer marinara and spent grain crust is worth trying. Our server was super nice and gave good advice on beers on tap that would suite our taste. Inside is clean and offers a good amount of seating, along with games to entertain. read more

Post-camping trip beers are becoming a bit of a tradition for a friend and I. We went camping at Brunet Island State Park and stopped here after. Let me say, this place is a GEM! The beer is excellent (highly recommend the peach mango seasonal beer if you like fruity ones), the pizza is divine (beer marinara was delish!), and the atmosphere is great. They have a patio (which is partially covered- key for the rainy weekend we had) and the patio is dog friendly (Win!). The staff was super friendly as well which always makes any experience so much better. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Cornell. For someone who has spent most of his adult life in big cities, MoonRidge Brewing is the type of place that makes you romanticize the thought of living in a small town. If you sit on their patio in the summer eating fresh pizza and sampling their beers after exploring the lakes west of town, you will wonder if there is a happier place. They have a smooth operation inside with one line for pizza orders and the bar for beer. The interior of the bar has warm wood finishes while that patio has multiple tables overlooking the street. The whole tab was cheap and the pick six pack that we got for the ride was much cheaper than we could have gotten from the grocery store. read more

Great micro brewery, their Moonridge is my absolute favorite (a rich brown ale) Good thin crust style Pizza & Burgers, very family friendly, a little small inside but also has a nice outside patio area. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Stood around during a very slow lunch for 20 minutes without even a hello from any of the 3 staff members working at the time. Two people working in the kitchen making one pizza completely ignoring our existence and the bartender would rather tell stories than help new customers. I'm sure it would have been fine if they had actually been open when they said they would be. Would be nice if they kept their hours up to date. Seems that on Oct 1 they changed their hours, but seem to have forgotten to update their website, their Yelp information and virtually every other way someone could get their hours without physically standing outside their door. We wasted an hour of driving time (at current gas prices $10 in gas as well) only to find out they were closed on Sundays. Not sure we'll be making the trip back any time soon. read more

Having Moonridge in town has turned me into a beer snob and a huge micro brewery fan. I love beer, not going to lie, and we are so lucky to have Moonridge in town. Great beer and we really enjoy the pizza as well. LOVED their BLT pizza but it is seasonal. Our next favorite is the Reuben pizza. We always get the pizza fries as a nice starter. This local, brand new place is top-notch. The beer menu will certainly please the non-hop lovers. Staff is great, and the owner will gladly strike up a conversation no matter how busy they are. The only food they have is pizza, but it is definitely worth trying because not only is it homemade but you can choose to have the crust made with the spent beer grains, and they have Reuben pizza (incredible) or five other off-the-beaten-path types. We were camping in the area and noticed this place right on the main drag in Cornell. It looks nice on the outside and we were impressed when we walked in. It is clean and atmosphere is great. Even has outdoor seating if you wish to enjoy some Northwoods air. The bartender was also very nice and acted like she wanted to answer our questions. We had two flights, 4 beers each, so we tasted all 7 of their brews and they had one taste of their guest brew from Tyranena Brewing Co. The only beer we didn't care for was the Tyranena Imperial Stout that was over 9% alcohol and a little too sweet. The other 7 beers that they make at Moonridge were excellent. Each one had a unique taste and you can tell great care is put in to the brew process. Here is my rating for each of their beers in order from lightest to darkest: Haymeadow - 5.5% ABV so a little bite, but not a bad bite. Creamy finish and reminds me a lot of New Glarus Spotted Cow. Fisher - Wheaty and easy to drink. Very slight honey taste. Stacker - Creamiest of their beers in my opinion. Hardly any aftertaste. Wayside - Slight hoppy taste and very delicious flavors in this one. Not an IPA, but is heading in that direction. Moonridge - This one ended up being our favorite (though it is really hard to pick a favorite). Slight hint of coffee or some kind of dark malt. Very complex flavors, but at the same time very easy to drink. This is the best brown ale I have ever had. I usually don't like brown ales either. We ended up getting a second growler filled with this. Shaw's Road - Another creamy beer, but with more of a bite. Another one that goes down good. Below the Dam - A little chocolate taste. Slightly malty. Very dark, yet with a smooth and light body. Dangerously easy to drink. Kind of like dessert to me, but not too heavy like some dark beers. read more

Stopped in on a whim. So glad we did. Amazing brews - fantastic pizza. I had the Below the Dam beer - dark beer but super smooth. I also enjoyed the Cheeseburger pizza. Hit the spot. The service is great. The owner will guide you on what to do and what to avoid in town. **Special Note** They do not use wait staff in the common way - you walk in, order your pizza at the end of the bar and order your drinks from the bar and then can proceed to a table. The staff brings the pizza out to you. You do need to get your own plate, silverware and anything else you may need. Self service, but not. Moon Ridge Brew Pub was a nice surprise to find in Cornell. We were very hungry and just made a quick decision to go inside and give it a try. It was a very nice little restaurant with a quaint decor. We walked past a little bar as we first entered the restaurant and found a small table in the corner. There were only a couple of other customers in the building during our visit. It could be that it was negative 10 degrees outside with 20mph winds or it could've been that it was about 45 degrees inside. So, if you visit the Moon Ridge during the winter, I would suggest wearing several layers along with a winter hat while you are eating, as I did. It looks like there is a nice little deck outside for summertime dining, which would give you a nice view of the highway passing through Cornell. We considered taking our table and chairs outside in the snow drifts on the deck to sit outside and enjoy our meal, since we were already freezing inside, but decided that might be frowned upon. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our server thoroughly described each and every pizza, sauce, crust, and beer on the menu. They have 3 different types of crusts including one which is made from the spent grains from the beer they are brewing. They have several unique, homemade pizza flavors on the menu as well as a build your own option. After deciding on your meal and drinks, you have to get up from your table and walk over to a little window on the other side of the bar to place your orders one at a time. We ordered a few different pizzas (all with the spent grain crusts). I asked for a glass of water to go along with my meal, but instead was charged for and given a bottle of water. When asking about just a glass of water from the tap, the server informed me that they only had bottled water, so I said that was fine. Upon sitting back down at our table, I noticed several other people who had glasses of water, so I went up to the bartender to ask him for a glass of water and he was extremely friendly and happy to get one for me to go along with my bottle of water. The Moon Ridge was a nice and quiet dining experience (as there were hardly any other patrons in the Pub). The pizza was excellent! Everyone in my group was very impressed with the flavor and I would suggest trying the spent grain crust for your pizza. So, if you happen to be passing through Cornell, WI for some reason, I would recommend stopping in to the Moon Ridge Brew Pub and ordering up a delicious pizza or two! read more

We also had the Brew House pizza and on the suggestion of the Brewer went with the spent crust pizza and beer sauce and it was probably the best pizza I have ever had. All around super experience. I had a spent grain pizza with extra pepperoni & cheese with a side of the cheesebombs! I purchased a growler and the oatmeal stout is excellent! A nice dark rich beer and I know it will go great with grilled brats! The flavor is astonishingly rich and a complex of types of grains used to make it! What they mean by spent grain crust is the use of the brewing grains in the brewing process and when it is done reused as a pizza crust! It is a richer, nutty taste and a crunchy mouth feel! The pizza pie was done perfectly the way i like my pizza! The cheesebombs were excellent and full of gooey cheese and spiced nicely! They have the Jalapeno bombs to but those i did not try yet! The owners are very nice, thoughtful persons who care about the food, beverages and customers! I thank them all for caring and their help in serving me last evening!
