Spirit of Dio on stage

The exterior looks like the starting point of a bad decision, which is how you know it's a perfect dive. Once you get past the 'haunted building' aesthetic, you're greeted with heavy-handed pours and an unpretentious crowd. We saw Spirit of Dio band which melted our faces. Wow, just wow! Our server, Tiffany, was absolutely fantastic. Best bar food around with huge and freshly made portions. 10/10

Drinks are cheap. Service can be outstanding. The crowd can be a little seedy, but always entertaining. Music is fun. Trivia night (Tuesdays) can be a blast. They allow cigarettes to be smoked inside, but I heard that will End this summer.

Since moving to Tucker this by far is my favorite place to go. Everyone is friendly here, the food is amazing, and the beer prices are fantastic. Starting off, the people. Our server Erika has always been really nice and funny, even on slow nights she has time to talk with us and make jokes about things. Nikki a waiter is also very friendly and talkative. It seems all of the waitresses here are very attractive. The atmosphere of the place is good too. Live bands nearly every night especially on weekends. No big name groups just yet but local talent and some good live music always go well. They also have typical touch screen bar games as well as Keno and some slot machines. They recently renovated the place to have a larger area to fit their big screens and multiple widescreens. You'll actually be Shocked at how damn clean the bathrooms are too. The food. A friend of mine has eaten at many countries around the world and he claims this is by far the best steak he has ever eaten. Not only is the flavor amazing on every bite but you can literally SEE how well its cooked based on how you like your steak cooked. They also grill out here once a month on a Friday and cook snow crab legs and other foods and sell it at a low combo price. Tilapia here is so good here a friend of mine claimed she had a Food Orgasm. Shrimp Quesadillas may sound strange at first but they taste great. There has honestly not been a single thing on the menu that wasn't anything short of perfect. Moonshadow also has a thing you can order called The Tower. Its nearly 3 gallons of beer in a tall keg you can order for your table. It serves about 4 people and you can have any beer on the menu here. All local beers, terrapin, Sweetwater 420 and domestics are served here. The price is really good on this considering how much beer they fit in the tower. Therese no reason MoonShadow shouldn't be the #1 bar in tucker. It has everything you could want in a dive bar with the best food around.

Just another Monday night!

This is my home away from home! I absolutely love this place, everyone is so nice. When I'm having a bad day at work, or a break from class, this is my spot. The food is on point and the girls behind the bar know how to make me feel at home. BEST spot in Tucker by far!

So this was a spot that actually had a pub feel to it. Kind of a dive bar feel to it. Which is…read moretotally fine. You go in and it's a little bit dark and they have TV so you can watch sports but it's nothing fancy but it gets straight to the point. You'll come in and most likely sit at the bar which is where a lot of the action is. You park outside and have your own parking lot so you have to worry about that but it's very friendly and all the bartenders are really friendly as well. I had been one time and they acted like they were trying to get to know me and I appreciate it that customer service. I just came in for a quick meal to get my macros together, so I got the brussel sprouts and a chicken wrap. The chicken wrap was pretty good. Nothing crazy or nothing amazing or not. Nothing special, but it was still pretty good. The fries were steak fries, cooked pretty well. The brussel sprouts were good. It was just basic bar food so I don't have anything bad to say but just par if that makes any sense.

They host Team Trivia every Thursday at 8pm which can be difficult for a younger group, but is still fun. The ambiance of the bar is great. It's definitely a little limited on seating but that allows the bar to have a cozy vibe and really feel like you're in a British Pub. The bar also has some golf arcade games if trivia isn't your thing. Staffing can sometimes be a little light, but when staying for a while and playing trivia it isn't too noticeable. Most of the food is typical bar food and for all my previous visits it was decent but nothing special. However, on my most recent visit I tried their signature meatloaf and it was a level above all the other food and something I will definitely get again. Overall, I think The King George Tavern provides an excellent experience for a trivia night with friends, and I'll continue going back.

Gets a bit loud at times later at night, and still holds on to that friendly family vibe you don't see anymore, in Decatur. Their beguiling beer/tap menu is bout 4 pages long by itself. The friendly informed barkeeps (EMMA & Davey) are more than happy to guide you thru the choices and give an intelligent recommendation. No joke. I always gets one of their plethora of stouts, with their soup o day, Veggie Empanadas, & the vicious Deviled Eggs / Spicy Fried Pickles. Yum. Locals and regulars are always there and friendly & kind. Easy Parking, lot at TMT. Made a friend at this place.

I headed straight for the bar. There were a few patrons scattered around, but it definitely was not packed. The first thing I noticed was how dimly lit the interior was. With my old man eyes, I actually had to turn on my phone flashlight to read the menu at the bar. I was happy to see the beer menu was very extensive with a solid number of food options as well. I was looking over the beer list and the friendly bartender came by. I advised I was in the mood for a nice sweet stout and he made a suggestion and provided a taster. I was sold and ordered a full size. I was leisurely drinking my stout and enjoying the atmosphere. The bartender made sure to check on me and make sure I didn't need anything else. I will definitely be back to taste some other beer and food options.

The place was packed with people and the kitchen was reportedly overwhelmed, but we stayed. After all that, the servers were great. I had the fish and chips with the Cheap beer. The anonymous cheap beer was faintly beer-flavored, just enough to be not water, which is exactly right for a $3 glass of beer. My fish was good. Two pieces of battered and fried white fish served with tartar sauce, a tiny scoop of cole slaw, and French fries. My companions had chicken wings, vegetarian chili, and poutine. The chili was fantastic, and I heard good things about the chicken, but the poutine was a pass. The cafe is reasonably large, with two dining areas inside plus a bar and an outdoor patio. The decor is neighborhood sporty, with an emphasis on Wisconsin (Green Bay Packers and UW Badgers prominent). I'd definitely eat there again.

I was happy we came here as there was 1) delicious and a variety of food, 2) plenty of space to hang, play pool, watch tv, and drink, and 3) a huge selection of draft beers and craft cocktails to have while you hang out. Outside area, in the back, was a chill spot too and a great way to meet locals and people who are hanging out. I ordered wings after midnight and they were delicious! My friends had a burger and fries and that slammed too. Definitely look at the board at the entrance for any specials on food and/or drinks. There are 2 sides of the bar so don't be shy and feel free to order your drinks or food on the other side if it is too crowded for you near the front. There is plenty of seating (booths) on the other side as well and is spacious. Loved that even though there were plenty of people hanging out and drinking that it never felt crowded. Definitely a spot to go to even if all other places are open and bumping. This is a cool dive!
