We had a great time here last night! The table rates are relatively cheap, at most it's $15 an hour. The cues are worn but work. They have a flex special that's two hot dogs with seasoned fries for $8. Get the chili slaw dogs!!! The food comes out quickly and is so damn tasty. I could've eaten four hot dogssss. And honestly, it's the only reason why I came out. There can be waits by we only had to wait about 10 minutes at 11 pm for our table. The best part about this place (besides the hot dogs) is the service. Everyone from the security guard to the cashiers to the bar back were exceptionally nice which is really rare here in Atlanta. Mr. Cue's never fails to deliver fantastic wings with a laid-back, chill environment, and plenty of fun. Ever since they stopped allowing smoking inside, it's been SO MUCH BETTER. Despite having been around since before I was and having the run-down look to prove it, Mr. Cue's remains the best billiards within AT LEAST a 5 mile radius. I also don't know of any other billiards places. I attempted to order by phone for a to-go order, but it seems they stopped taking orders over the phone. It would seem that too many people didn't pick up on time. I ended up walking in and ordering and coming back within less than 10 minutes (during peak hours) and my order was ready. However, I'm here to tell you that if you want wings that are nice and spicy, but not too hot, Mr. Cue's is always bringing the good game- (pun intended). I was disappointed to see that they're still using buttermilk ranch, but you can get bleu cheese instead and it's pretty good. Tonight, I did a little taste-testing and ordered the same things from 3 different places. The results: Three Dollar Cafe wins the ranch and lemon pepper wings (dry and wet) contest. Mr. Cue's wins the crunchy and spicy wings contest. I really do love their dry, spicy breaded, and fried-crispy jumbo wings. What would have been a five star review is now knocked down and it's too bad because this was definitely becoming the spot for my dad, brother and friends to play at. The tables are great here, they keep them up because of all the tournament play that happens here. Fair pricing. There's a lot of action toward the evening hours. The wings are surprisingly good for a pool hall, better than some pizza places I've had. They have a jukebox if you feel like being DJ. I had some good songs going that people were vibing out too, So far this place was winning. And then the manager or whoever he was said we had to pack it in because suddenly a league game was about to start. We had started to settle in: a second pitcher was already ordered, we had barley gotten our wings order for the table, and we had a tab running and now we were hurried out there. There was no guarantee of a new table but the league suddenly needed this table to start. It would have been cool if before we ordered our food and second pitcher they would have told us not to because of an impending league game instead of being told to give up our table. It's kind of off putting this happened as we were happy paying customers. Bad communication and a lack of transparency really clouded this experience here. Not protesting the league play at all, it is what it is, but let your patrons know they pay for a table. We weren't even in the special section of the pool hall for league play. By the time my brother and I could try to question what was going on and who to further talk to my pops was already packing up ready to leave to avoid conflict and close out the tab. So out of respect we cashed out, but here's the kicker in all this. We stayed 30 minutes after to finish our pitcher (my dad doesn't drink) and wings and we saw no "league" players claim the table or any type of structure associated with this "league" game beginning. We could have gotten two to three more games at least in and finished up. Just a little suspect there and really Bad communication from the pool hall management and in the meantime the Vibe was completely ruined for us and we couldn't finish our games. We had our own tournament going ourselves. If my pops wasn't there, we definitely would have contested what was going on and to try and remedy the situation as patrons just wanting to have a good time out. Mr. Cue's is one of the best pool halls in the Atlanta metro area. Every day from 12-3 you can get free table time if you spend at least $7.50 on food or drinks. The rails are responsive, tables are level, and if you want to learn the game there's always some talent hanging around. The people are generally pretty friendly and respectful of you when it's your turn to make your shot. Also, they no longer allow smoking inside, so you won't have to worry about smelling like it after you leave. read more

Mr. Cues is a pool room with a bar and bar food kitchen. That is fine but the music is too loud at lunchtime and for some reason the same songs play over and over. It is so loud and distracting I think twice about playing there, it makes it an unpleasant experience. The tables are good and well kept but overall it is too loud. Girlfriend and I visited just to have lunch and play a little pool. We go in and wait for an employee to help us, but none ever shows up. We walk around a little bit, and the other customers start shooting us dirty looks, so we just left. I first went there around the turn of the millenium and go there about once a week. I'm hesitant to leave a review because I don't want the place to become cluttered with billiards players who are likely more skilled than I am, but it's a business that somebody is running well so they deserve a little kudos. What can i say? A lot of tables, very well maintained, almost all flawless house cues, lovely people working there, tasty food, tasty beers (and I've heard other drinks), diverse crowd of people and music (but we all love each other and will escort you out if you show up with some hate) .. There is league play some nights so if you pop in and find it intimidatingly packed, come in and watch or come back some other day. read more

I had a good time at Mr. Cue's. The pool hall is pretty big with about 40 tables. For some reason, I expected the atmosphere to be like the 1989 Patrick Swayze movie "Road House" (loud and smoky), but the environment actually turned out to be pretty chill and I liked that. It was still smoky, though, and while smoke doesn't bother me, I don't like leaving a place smelling like it. My friends and I came here to shoot pool on a Friday night and I believe tables were $10 per hour. Since it was a weekend night, this was the highest rate. If you come during non-peak times, the price is lower. All of the tables, balls, and sticks were in good condition. Mr. Cue's also has a snooker table and a 3-cushion table. The employees are friendly, from the bouncer to the girls working the bar. Drinks and bar food are reasonably priced (e.g. $8 for one pitcher of beer, $1.75 for a soda). If you want to take a break from shooting pool, there's a dart board, shuffleboard, and some arcade games in the back. Located in the same shopping center as Kroger, Mr. Cue's is open late, until 3am and 4am on some nights. The hall is 18 and up only, and they will check your ID at the door. read more

Great first impression. Went went for lunch and drinks and the atmosphere was very comfortable, clean, and inviting. Shannon took our orders and gave honest answers to our questions and gave great suggestions. We took her suggestion and went with the popular special "Bang Bang Shrimp" with a side of seasoned fries. Visited this place last Sunday for Industrial night. Apparently, anyone in the food industry can shoot pool for free! Located in a plaza with plenty of parking. It was my first time at this place despite how long it's been in business. There were so many tables !(30+) We waited for about 10 minutes until a table opened up. The prices of their drinks were decent. Their shots are huge. And they had a few cocktails as well. It was a cool vibe/environment. The downside is how smoky it was ! I had attended Mr Cue's Billiards ll about three times now, but today is the day i had a horrible encounter and terrible attitude and service from the employees. This had became my new spot to enjoy playing pool at, but after today I don't think I'll be returning due to how ignorant the employees are. I had left my drink on the pool table since everybody was occupying the tables and I don't want to leave my drink without a lid near random people that I don't trust or know in any way. I out of no where hear some incoherent person yell like an enraged principle that is trying to discipline ignorant children. they had yelled " NO DRINKS AT THE TABLE " in such a rude way and said it with such edge of rudeness, like he was purposely trying to cause a scene. the place wasn't even close to loud at all, and he truly didn't have to do that at all. i had just picked up my drink and put it back down on the pool table, because i'm not going to listen to somebody that couldn't have approached me in a well behaved matter. later on, my husband goes to ask for some chicken tenders and this impolite employee behind the register had told him "we're not serving tenders no more, we're only serving buffalo wings" and he had responded back " oh okay, never mind then, thanks" and she had said with the upmost rudest attitude ever " okay then ". after that, my husband had told his friend to go make the order for the same table, and she took the order without being rude and just wanted to help him, i don't know if she had a problem because my man is black and his friend is lighter than him, but i want her gone. this place is fun, believe me, but they need to remove these employees and just hire employees that have been the same attitude as the ones who had served me before today. read more

This is my 2nd time to Mr Cues. My first time was when i was there for a shoot of "Atlanta". Since that day of filming I've had a very good impression of this place therefore decided to come back when it was operating regularly. Stepping in i felt the familiar pool hall feeling - busy, there's a buzz about this place, smoky. People busy about their own game. No one was looking for a fight. I walled right thru past all tables and there was a short line. The wait wasn't long. Was attended by a lady who was all too happy to explain everything us. Think she knew we were new cos we had questions (loads). Thank goodness she was patient. My husband and i are no strangers to pool halls. But there was something about this place we liked. It had a lot of other entertainment of you don't play pool you could sit at the high chairs to play card games. Pin ball or some arcade games at the back is the room. There's something for everyone. Love it! The tables. We were assigned to tacble 28. Told what to do etc and we headed there. The balls were clean and in perfect condition. No dents or chips. The ink on the balls still intact. The carpet on the table was a clean shade of blue. No cigarette burn marks. The table frames also had no burn marks. House cues. The usual stuff. Some cues were straight and some weren't. Can't fix them all. I brought my own but i also did use a house cue. It didn't look good bit it felt good cos it was straight, a good weight that i liked. That's what's most important. Wrap up. Paying up at the counter i spotted the pro shop and asked the lady security about operation times of the pro shop and told her what i needed. She was nice to explain to me and have me a slip to fill and bring with me when i come back to get new tips for both my cues. Overall a very nice experience. Will surely be back. If you know me, you probably know that I can do just about anything in a pair of 4 inch heels. Saturday I was feeling like I could conquer the world. I was invited out to play pool and even though it's been a few years, I felt confident that my memory could easily be refreshed. I put on my best jeans a nice glittery top to catch the attention of a select few and headed out to Mr. Cues. BOY was I overdressed, I stepped in the door and after I regained my sight from all the smoke, I saw women in PURPLE leather pants, Mohawks, Asians tat tat tatted up (which I do like, but....). The atmosphere was a little weird although everyone seemed extremely nice and very focused on there game. This was the cheapest place I've ever played pool I think we played about 4 or 5 games and the total was $10. I had a great time here but it only received four stars because of the awesome people watching, I almost enjoyed it better than Piedmont Park. This place didn't get the fifth star for the simple fact that being subjected to that much smoke, I think I may have lost about 10 years of my life from second hand. read more

I've been here in the past and had a great time with no issues. However I went last night after it's been a few years and I doubt I'll ever be able go back unfortunately. I went with my partner and we proceeded to play our second game trying to warm up then get a drink. At the beginning of the second game I notice a roach walking across the floor between tables like its nothing (yuck). I was too grossed out and ironically embarrassed to try to get a picture. If this was strictly a place people play pool and drink I might not even leave this review but not even 50 feet away are people eating all across the wall behind the pool tables which it seemed that's where the roach was headed. After finishing the second game we immediately left, i'm sure my man didn't care as much as I did but because they're serving food that is unacceptable and a health hazard. This is a very chill place to come hang out. It can be filled with cigarette smoke because smoking is allowed but it's a hit or miss on some days. Ever since the vapes started, it has definitely become less Smokey. There is lots of parking outside but if you come around 7 Monday- Thursday, do expect it to be a little more crowded because of League nights. The service is great for the most part. The bartenders are usually very friendly. My favorite is Alice! She's awesome! The food and drinks are worth the money. It is bar food but i love the mini corn pups, corn nuggets, fries, tater tots, wings, and the chicken philly! I've seen cops come in here just to order food for lunch or dinner! Drinks are not refillable but you can always ask for light or no ice. The alcoholic drinks are good too! I feel like it's one of the best places to drink because when i order, it's a good size or decently strong! The pool tables are well maintained. To the left side when you enter are the 9 foot tables and to the right side are the 8 foot tables. They also have two snooker tables in the back corner. The house cues aren't terrible either. The restrooms are located straight back from the bar and are generally clean except for when it's super busy or tournament days. They have game machines in the back and also some games. This place is for true lovers of playing pool... Must be able to withstand smoke! The smoke did not bother me until I was outside and could smell it on myself. I've visited on a Sunday and I totally loved the vibe, music, drinks, and customer service. Be aware they have a league, and those individuals get priority table. However this place has many tables. Visited again on a Friday night, and the traffic was heavier, but we still received the same great service & drinks. This time we tried the food, and it was good. The sliders were okay & had a great taste, but the chicken quesadilla was excellent!!! They also have an independent contractor who will shape or correct personal pool sticks at a great price. My friend and I came in to shoot some pool and grabs some beers and when we asked for just 2 Heinekens those two ladies ( who look like they coke tf out) told us because the power was out that they cant ring us up for any but the tables until the computer comes back on. We said cool. We went on to playing pool and my friend look up and he see her serving a group of people beers pitchers and what not. Mr. Cues is filled with smoke, need to have a separate smoke area, or smokeless ass trays. Smoke stays in clothes. Should be no hookah smokers. They just blow smoke around tables as if they don't care about others. They can go outside and come back in , or bath room with special vents. Would be great if the area where the eating tables that are in the middle were use as a smoke area inclosed. read more

The beer is cold and the food isn't horrible but is what you would expect for bar food. The pool is where it's at. Very well maintained tables that shoot true. Mr. Cues is a big pool hall. It looks much smaller from the outside, but it's actually quite large. They have at least 40 tables with tournaments and leagues being run on a regular basis. They now have a 3 cushion table there which is what brought me here in the first place. 3 cushion is a game mostly played by Koreans and some basic requirements have to be made to play the game correctly. 1. Clean table 2. Clean Billiard Balls 3. Heated Surface 4. Tight Cloth Mr. Cues got half of it right. I would come here in a pinch, but under normal circumstances I'd rather go to a less smoky environment to shoot. read more

I am a big fan of shooting pool. In fact, I used to shoot pool quite a lot in Decatur in the 1990s. I more or less got away from pool for 8 or 9 years until recently. A friend asked me if I would join their APA 9-ball League. I had never played League pool before, only bar pool, but my friend knew that I used to play often. "What the heck," I figured. I had just recently moved back to Atlanta and it seemed like a good way to meet folks. Well, Mr. Cue's definitely satisfied my memories of a typical "pool hall" -- dark, smokey, with lots of well-maintained tables and a very diverse crowd. I'm a non-smoker, so it took me a while to adjust to the carcinogenic haze that permeated the air, but once that was done, I was fine. The staff is all very friendly, and my fellow League players have been helpful and accommodating since I am learning League play rules ("Really? You just walk away from the unfinished game when you get to your required point total?") With regard to billiards, the place is top-notch. Tons and tons of tables. They have varying sizes (some 8', some 9'); they have a snooker table; they run 9-ball and 8-ball League play; they have a pool pro on staff; they have a billiard shop where you can buy cues, cases, gloves, etc. and I'm pretty sure they offer cue maintenance. You will not want for anything pool related. Food: typical bar food. Adequate, but nothing special. Mostly fried food, but they do have salads, burgers, cheese steaks, etc. Nothing to write home about, but it'll do the job. Booze: mostly a beer joint, with pitcher specials on each night of the week. They are a full service bar, and I presume they have wine, but I've never seen anyone drink it. Definitely a drinking place. Miscellaneous: they have shuffleboard, wide screen TVs, stand-up arcade games, and on League nights, there is a dedicated League Play area. All in all, it epitomizes the "serious" pool player's pool hall. I love it, but I give it four stars because of the smoke, and the merely adequate food. read more
