Moonwalk is located in the 505 Central Food Hall and honestly the only spot that I had any interest in after circling around a few laps. My cousins and I basically gave up on food and say... let's just drink!! Best decision ever because that's how we met Joshy!! BEST BARTENDER EVER!! Joshy was so fun and friendly, and of course his drinks were delightful. Honestly all the 5 stars for this establishment is mainly for Joshy!! He deserves allllllll of the stars and the moonnnnn in the skyyyyy.... ;) Moonwalk stands out since all of their products feature local vendors... so local wines, liquor and brews. I'm not the biggest New Mexico fan but I respect the concept. Supporting locals is good for the local economy. 3 drink limit. Everyone gets carded, so don't be sensitive and take it personally. Between the three of us, my cousins and I tried a good amount of their brews and whiskeys. I had the Sandia Paleta, Lexington Lemonade, and Jala-Back Girl. The Sandia Paleta has agave spirit, watermelon, lime, tabasco. Fun to try but the least favorite if I had to compare. The Lexington Lemonade has lone wolf, lemon, peach and ginger beer. Very light and refreshing. A tad sweet, but still probably my favorite drink among the three. The Jala-Back Girl has jalapeno rum, simple syrup and lime. Not too spicy, just enough spice to have a kick. Very unique. An amazing way to start the day at Moonwalk with my cousins and Joshy. I love this place! They always have special seasonal cocktails, all local beers and wines, and fun staff. I go here pretty often but I recently ordered one of the Christmas special cocktails, the Corrales Christmas, it tasted just like an apple pie! They even roasted a marshmallow as garnish. It's definitely sweet but not overwhelming. The service is always fun and cheerful. The ambiance is modern and space themed in an elegant way. This little bar inside 505 central hall is aesthetically beautiful- tucked inside the back of the food hall so it still feels intimate. I love the space theme with the huge moon on the wall and stars on the bar tables. There are high tables with chairs as well as seats at the bar. Even though the place is beautiful, the drinks are a bit underwhelming. They have a decent selection on tap but it seems like they are always out of their own branded beer. I have tried cocktails and they were ok. Not bad by any standard and I really appreciate that they use local liquors but overall just ok. The service is hit and miss. We've had wonderful bartenders who were nice and helpful and we've had bartenders who seem annoyed by simple requests. If you're downtown I would check this place out, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it alone. read more

The clientele looked a little more upscale than expected too. I thought "This isn't a dive bar". Had a couple of local beers, bartender was great. Didn't catch her name. I was excited to try this place out! I'm always on the look out for some great cocktails, but unfortunately I didn't find any here. I was with a large group of people and none of us were impressed with our drinks. We had a spicy jalapeño margarita and another mixed drink the bartender recommended but they tasted watered down. The spicy jalapeño margarita had very little flavor and the pink drink had a light subtle flavor. Some other friends had other types of margaritas (can't remember which types) but they all had similar comments. The three stars are for the bartenders. I will say that the bartenders were super friendly and funny which was really nice! I wouldn't be opposed to going back and trying out different drinks. The seating area is beautiful, but we chose to sit outside on the patio as it was our first cocktail hour post-quarantine. Only complaint is that the prices seemed a teeny bit high for liquor (specifically whiskey) from a local distillery. This was my first visit to Moonwalk and we had been wanting to give Thicc Pizza a try. Starting at Moonwalk, Treven greeted us, started conversation asking what we were wanting. Unsure we gave him a run down on what we liked and he did the rest. He made up some great afternoon drinks for us. It was exactly what we were wanting. A $15.50 old fashioned?! You have got to be out of your mind! I started coming here as a cheaper alternative to Sawmill Market but at this point I think I'll go back there or maybe even Manhattan. This was our first time at this bar. I asked the bartender advice regarding their drinks. She said they are all good. The first drink was great. The second drink was called Hawaiian BBQ. It did not taste good at all. I only took one sip. I asked to change it out for another drink. I was told I had to pay for the drink regardless. They have happy hour on Monday-Thursday between 2-5 which is super convenient, and they're an excellent option as they're surrounded by great food at the 505 central dining hall. After over a year of COVID I decided to go out for the first time since March 2020. I have a physical disability and cannot stand or walk very long. I waited while the young new young lady bartender mixed two drinks in 10 minutes as I waited patiently. I am obviously way over 21 and asked her to please pour a couple beers for me and I would go get my ID as requested. When I returned there were no beers poured and I gave the girl my ID...because of my disability it was a reflexive reaction and I was also very much in pain from standing while waiting for her to mix two drinks in 10 minutes. The bar was empty except for the manager. The bartender then told me she would not serve me and I asked why, and I told her what my condition is and she said want to talk to the manager and I did and he said he backs up his bartender and refuse to serve me my first drink out. She then proceeded to tell me I was in there earlier that day. I have visited Albuquerque over decades and regardless how you look, dress, I was always treated with respect. Granted I was only wearing some NorthFace clothing and my hair was up in a ponytail so I looked a little bit sick and very pale, but I was harassed by this young woman who showed absolutely zero respect for someone of my age and she refused to hear that I have reflex issues and she said I was drunk already. I wish I could write a review on the cocktails served here. Unfortunately, the bartender wasn't interested in making any. We specifically searched online for a cocktail bar and found this spot. It has a great aesthetic, fantastic playlist and zero hospitality. Upon sitting down and asking for a menu, the bartender gestured to it and said, "I'm not serving anything from the menu tonight. I don't have time for all that shit." I asked how we should order and he replied..."you order. I can do something but I'm not doing all that." Of course I know how to order a drink at a bar. I didn't go there to order a Rum & Coke. I can get that at any sports bar. And, I wasn't about to ask HIM for a French 75. The bartender didn't even attempt to provide good service. Maybe he was tired. Maybe he had a long day. We are understanding people. An explanation would have provided some perspective. All we got was pure rudeness. We frequent craft cocktail bars all over the country. We've never been this put off by a bartender. I hope the owner reads the reviews.
