Ate here tonight with my family and had a great experience. We had a 6:30 reservation, arrived right on time, and were seated immediately. Our waiter came over shortly after, introduced himself, and took our drink order. I informed our waiter that I have a gluten allergy and asked about safe options. He was extremely knowledgeable about gluten-free items and cross-contamination, which I really appreciated. We started with the beef bites and the Tres Amigos appetizer (guacamole, salsa, and queso), both of which my family really enjoyed. I didn't try them since they're fried in shared fryers with gluten items. For my entrée, I ordered the cranberry apple spinach salad with shrimp, and it was delicious. My daughter had the steak frites, my husband ordered the ribeye, and my son chose the High Noon tenderloin, my son's girlfriend got the green chili bacon chicken sandwich lettuce wrapped. Everything looked great, and my family enjoyed their meals. Service was good, the food was delicious, and I was especially happy to see gluten-free dessert options. We tried two: a chocolate torte and a Spanish flan with piñon, both were good. Overall, a wonderful dining experience for our whole family.

high-end margarita and warm, tasty chips y salsas!

Great classic place for a solid margarita and some chips/salsa on a warm day. Loved the bar, low-key vibes and old town Albuquerque interior. Good people!

Old Town was packed at lunch time during the Balloon Fiesta, so after wandering around to the outskirts of town, we were able to get in line at High Noon, since they didn't even open until 12:00 pm. Perfect. Once the doors opened, we were quickly sat. The restaurant is a lot bigger on the inside than it appeared to be outside. Tastefully decorated, nice and cool, with comfortable tables. Our server was friendly and efficient. Trying not to shock my system too much with spicy Mexican food, I went with the Three Sisters Veggie Burrito, filled with zucchini, squash, beans, corn, sweet peppers, rice, and cheese, with chips and guacamole on the side. The burrito was fine, but the guacamole was excellent. A decent experience all around, and a perfect spot to take a break from the heat and shopping.

We do not eat at Old Town very often, but some friends recommended the drinks. Right at the edge of Old Town, the High Noon Saloon blends with the style and architecture of the area, appearing like an old, rustic saloon. The inside, is quite pretty, upscaled, and inviting. Our server came soon after being seated and was ready for our drinks orders. We were, too! And shortly after, our food orders were taken swiftly. The server was quite attentive and also unobtrusive while our party was sharing stories of our week. Our food, however, took a long time to come to our tables. Let's start with drinks, I tried the rosemary cucumber lemonade and spicy haven. By far, spicy haven was my favorite with a combination of spicy, bright, and refreshing. Our food order consisted of the green chile cheeseburger and the lighter cousin, green chile bacon chicken sandwich. Our friends ordered the blue corn enchiladas and the steak frites. I can speak to te burger and sandwich. The chicken was dry but the bacon was crispy and nice. The truffle fries were definitely a nice substitution for the regular string fries. The burger was at medium rare that was juicy and thick. Both were ok, but lacked flavor even with the green chile. Our friends were satisfied with their dishes, but not impressed, either. Overall, a lot of our bill came from the ambiance and location. Our server was great and on top of things, but the kitchen was slow. Also, for the price, I was expecting impactful flavors that in the end were just ok. And with additional surcharges for minor substitutions, our intentions to return are very minimal.

Touching down in Albuquerque and already finding a local gem! As an East Coaster, I'm always looking for a great Mexican food spot and the High Noon Restaurant did not disappoint. While the tacos were good, the real stars were the pinto beans, chili relleno, and the incredible hatch chili sauce. Seriously, they were the best I've ever had. If you're in the area, you have to check this place out! I personally complemented the chef and I had great service a the beautiful bar as well!

Food - was pretty good! My husband had the meat loaf, and my friend and I shared the chile relleno platter and had them split off the tacos (she had the tacos, I had the the relleno, beans, rice, and salad). I think the rice could've used more seasoning, otherwise the relleno was delicious and the chopped lettuce and tomatoes were a refreshing taste to mix in to the rice and beans. The salsa was a nice flavor to add onto the relleno. My husband (a meat loaf lover) enjoyed his meat loaf- good texture and flavor. Not photographed- my high noon margarita and the keylime pie we shared. It was a well mixed drink, and the keylime pie was decadent and not overly sweet. Service- Tomas was very nice and attentive! Ambience - the ambiance was cool! The first 2 parts of the restaurant were built in the 1700's, and the dining area was made in the 1920's. The walls are made of adobe, the chairs are carved and decorated in a New Mexican style, and there's these interesting metal chandeliers with faces hanging from the ceiling.

Wow!! We want authentic New Mexican food. We got what we came for!!! Staff was great and food was outstanding.

This is our second time eating here, the food is delicious with a fun historic atmosphere. The service is also great.

I booked this place because it looked really cool inside and it was. Very New Mexico feel. Even tho the booths didn't have cushions on the back they were still very comfortable. The service was ok, we had to ask for waters. I ordered the filet and my wife ordered the steak frites. They were cooked correctly but when they arrived they were barely warm. Mine came with 2 mushroom and potato enchiladas and I didnt like the way they tasted. I'm not use to not having cheese or chili sauce on top of the enchiladas. We may give this place another try but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it

Wow! Just wow. Visiting New Mexico, we wanted to try some good food and were referred to this place close to Old Town. We managed to get in without a booking on a Saturday after getting dropped off. Beautiful architecture and interior. We sat near the back and enjoyed each others company until we were served. Delicious margaritas to start and some of the best food I've had in a long while. The beef on my dish just melted in your mouth. I felt like I could've inhaled my food it was that good. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating as we had a ghost tour we had to get to and they helped speed up getting our bill at the end too. Would visit again next time I'm in the area for sure and I recommend you do too.

Omg what a wonderful experience. Carla V could not have been more accommodating. On app I asked for a booth that was cushy for my 92 year old dad, they succeeded and brought extra pillows for his back. wOW. As for the food, well it was extremely good, hand cuts of beef still exist, great flavor on the tenderloin and ribeye. Our waitress Sophia was so kind and attentive. Highly recommend. We have lived in Albuquerque for over 50 years and never tried this establishment, my mistake.

    Chip J.

Forget steak! This was one of our two best New Mexican food forays. Incredible dishes in a friendly environment. You'll love this place.

    Tina T.

Food and ambience of this location was really cool as it was separated to two rooms one room which had trees in the middle of each table giving it a more modern look and one room which had the pictures of owners of the place from back in the day on the walls showing its rich family history. However service could have been a bit better as wait time for food and drinks was a bit long. This place is a family owned business as it's been part of New Mexico for a long time.

Gosh, the staff is all just as nice and you get to sit down to order. The location (the old Monica's El Portal restaurant) is lovely and has that authentic feel - plus a wonderful parking lot (parking in the area is usually a giant hassle). The food was exactly like that at the original location, which is to say a delicious melding of New Mexican and Chihuahense styles, served fast and hot - for reasonable prices. With continual smiles (and refills) by the hustling servers. I'm telling you, I might drive down here again soon with my wife just to go to this outlet of Ramona's. Mmm! One more thing: can I give you a tip on how to avoid doing a left-hand turn to the north across all the crazy Rio Grande traffic at this location? Go west on Dora (the street the restaurant is on) down to the end at Panmunjon (that's how they spell it) road, turn right and go up one street to Mountain. Turn right on Mountain which will take you to a light on Rio Grande that has a left-hand turn arrow. Go slow (it's all residential and there are speed humps); it'll take a couple minutes, but it's better than getting creamed by a speeder (like the motorcyclist I saw lose a boot when he got clipped as I was parking).

The exterior and "lobby" area make it look like the restaurant is on the small side with limited seating, but it extends quite far back with indoor table options and an extensive back patio area for a nice ambiance to enjoy your New Mexican cuisine. Service was very leisurely, but we didn't mind, as we were catching up with friends who've moved to the area and haven't seen in several years. The chips and salsa aren't complementary, though the waiter made it seem that way when he casually asked if we wanted some when we were seated. Plentiful cocktail and drink menu, as well as appetizers and entrees. I was happy with my selection of Spanish/fried chile rellenos, and I had it with the salsa "Christmas style", with both green and red salsa. It was flavorful with just the right amount of heat, and the rice and beans hit the spot. I couldn't wait to take the leftovers home for snacking the next day. Kids' menu has the typical offerings, and the fries on the side are abundant. We had sopapillas (like fried dough) with honey after our entrees, which was included with the adult meals. A very nice dining experience in the historic Old Town neighborhood!

Nice choice of fancy high-end margaritas, but their mix is way too artificial tasting, without much if any fresh lime juice. The cheap margarita mix and industrial tortillas alone would have been enough to prevent a return visit. We have done so much better on previous visits here. On top of that, service was in full-on meltdown mode. Table next to us, which had been seated and served drinks before we arrived, was having words with the server about how long their food was taking. "Will it even be hot," she asked. After we had ordered and been served drinks, and ordered and been served food, they finally threw a few crumpled bills on their still-empty table and walked. My combo plate was completely wrong, and my wife's fajitas lacked the sour cream she ordered and the tomatoes and pico de gallo that were supposed to come with it. Wait staff blamed the kitchen rather than owning the mistakes on behalf of the restaurant. Took five minutes, and two requests, for my wife to even get her tiny container of sour cream. The menu initially sounded creative, especially the waffles featuring pepitas, quinoa, and blue corn, which led me to assume that the same thoughtful use of ingredients would carry throughout the rest of the menu. The blue corn enchiladas were the clear highlight and were genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, the red sauce served alongside them tasted noticeably canned. I had hoped for a fresh, house-made sauce that would complement the quality of the enchiladas. The calabacitas were also barely seasoned and could have benefited from much more flavor. The eggs Benedict was disappointing. The addition of a sausage patty made it feel more like a typical American breakfast than the regional and authentic dish I had expected. Many of the available sides were also potato-based, mainly hash browns or French fries, which made the menu feel less varied and imaginative. The blue corn porridge was acceptable, and the generous amount of berries helped bring the dish together, but the porridge itself could have been much more flavorful. There is plenty of potential here, particularly if more attention were given to fresh sauces, seasoning, regional ingredients, and a wider variety of side dishes. The service was good, and the meal overall was fine, but based on my experience, it was not distinctive enough to justify making a special trip.
