I have given her a range of items way too small and huge to alter and she makes them look like they were made for my body. I recently bought a pair of pants that were 4 inches too small around the waist and brought her supplemental fabric that does not even look like the pants... she not only added the fabric to fit me, she also camouflaged the entire alteration so you couldn't even see that it was not original!!!! She is also so very friendly and personable. I experienced a very unexpected death in my immediate family and had nothing to wear. I was so overwhelmed with coming to terms with it surrounded by family that I had to find a dress two days before the funeral. I found one that was a mess: too long in shoulders and too big around the top and waist, but fit in the hips. With tears, I asked if there was any way she could work a miracle for the funeral. She didn't even flinch when she said 'absolutely don't worry about it at all'. She, once again, worked a miracle for me and had it perfectly fitted in no time. Nothing was ever ready on time, I had to make multiple trips because she missed deadlines, and she never answers the phone. My rehearsal dinner dress was also altered incorrectly--she tightened it into a bodycon fit after I specifically told her not to. Between the poor workmanship, constant delays, and total lack of accountability, this was the worst business experience I've ever had. Brides and anyone with important pieces--go elsewhere.

Before the new management took over, this was my go-to shop to have patches made or have things…read morefixed. Always done in a timely manner and ready when expected. Since the change of management and location, the shop has gone downhill. Reliability is down the drain. I've showed up multiple times to pick up my items and told to come back the next day or they pull it out and work on it right there. Where was this effort over the previous week? This was the last draw. They had my items for nearly 2 weeks. I even had a call after the 9 day mark that the items would be ready on day 10. I had other things going on and showed up on day 13 to pick them up. They were sitting on the floor and I was told they were not ready but would be done at the same time the following day. I showed up today at 3:10 to find the closed sign on the door and could see my item sitting on the floor in the same spot it was when I dropped it off and unfinished. When the door was finally opened, the excuse was made that they're swamped and super busy but there was nobody working and the sign on the door says that after 2pm, no tailor is on duty. The work is fine if they do it but avoid this shop if you're expecting your items to be done in a timely manner. I took my items to another shop that will be done in 3-4 days.

I really want to give them 5 stars but what holds them back is their inaccurate pick up times/timeliness. If they tell you to pick up on Wednesday don't bother, call them 2 or 3 days later and ask them if it's complete. Once they confirm it's done THEN go in and pick up your order. Too many times I've been told "Wednesday at noon it'll be done". That day will come and I'll go in to pick up my order only to be told "it's not done, come back before close". So I come back before close and it's still not done. A couple days later the order is finally ready. As long as you're in no rush to get your order and are willing to wait for good work, I'd recommend Tailor-Maid. If you need something more basic in a timely manner I'd recommend Young's Tailor.
