The eggs were fresh and delicious with bright yellow yolk. We also got sweet potatoes which had great flavor and were not dry. We saw other produce, meats, fruit, baked goods, etc. They also sell hot food and have tables to sit and eat. They still had great looking corn and other crops in the fields. Chapin is a working farm so nothing fancy but everything looked good and fresh! Going back to try more!

The kids learned so much about the cows, were able to pet and brush Theo who is a very handsome Highland. We also go to meet the goats, the new baby chicks, the horse named Pudgy and 2 great pigs Jasper and Jackson. The highlight was also learning how to pick up and hold the bunnies to keep them safe. We all got bunny cuddles with Bluebell and Buttercup! Our family will definitely be back to the farm. We all learned so much and they have 4 (maybe 5?) pregnant cows so we are looking forward to meeting the new babies. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.

I love that I've gotten to know him and I feel great about how he treats his animals. We started with just egg delivery, but now often get chicken, pork and grass-fed beef. He even found me one last ham a week before Christmas, and then promptly answered my frantic email on Christmas Eve for cooking instructions! His prices are cheaper than Whole Foods, and I trust his meats' quality and animals' welfare more than pre-packaged meat. I have been recommending Sylvanaqua Farms to anyone who will listen!

There is a small gift shop and a cute cat in sweater that is free to pet, although they do charge $20/hour to pet the bald cat. There are other animals there (goats, horses) and I think it costs more to cuddle/pet those animals. Be warned - this is a small cow pasture, so expect mud I don't know what a fair price is, but these seems decent Kind of a schlep to get there The bathroom is in their house!
