I visited this shop today, and I was so excited! I'm a big fan of all things antique and enjoy spending time in older shops and looking around at everything. But this place made me want to leave immediately, despite all the cool finds. One reason, was because of the organization. Trust me when I say this, I've been to my fair share of antique shops. Most of them are a little unorganized and you kinda have to look for the cool stuff, but overall you can find certain items of the same kind. But this place was insane, absolutely no order to it, not to mention the insane dust in this place. No upkeep was happening, and there was no room to barely walk! It was almost like a dusty, very fragile, maze. The other reason for why I might not be back is the owner at the front desk. She was the rudest lady I've ever seen in an antique shop, let alone any business. I wish I didn't give her my money because she didn't deserve it. We were not acknowledged when we entered, even though she was right there and glared at us for entering her store. Plus, when checking out, I asked a question about something with no price tag, and she gave me the price and asked for a card immediately for the book I was buying. No conversation? A 15 dollar book by the way. No receipt, good bye or have a good day. Anyways, the last thing I wanted to mention, (thanks for making it this far) was that this seems to have been an ongoing problem, hence the other reviews I read from a couple years ago. I feel like, if you know people feel this way about your customer service, shouldn't you make a change? You ARE still running a business. 1 star! read more

This was the last stop of the day. We had been in there in the morning and found a big Mr peanut counter concession jar in cobalt blue. Like a huge Cookie jar. With a lid with a big peanut as the grip handle. It was in the 1/2 price room and I found two others at other shops at more than double so it was a steal if we have room for it. We said YES just before closing and now it's in the car. Great weekend of fun. read more

Moose Mountain arguably has the largest selection of all of the antique and collectibles stores in Pine, and it's a real treasure trove of a very wide variety of items. Half-price Christmas decor? Yup. A sufficient number of historic framed pictures to fill a Cracker Barrel? Yes sir. Hawaiian shirts? They've got 'em. We spent a lot of time exploring the entire store, which is something of a feat, and if we went back, we'd probably see a thousand things we missed the first time. I definitely recommend a stop here--just off the main highway on Hardscrabble Mesa Rd.--to see if what you're looking for might be somewhere on their shelves, tables, floors, or walls. read more

Visited this store while on a weekend get away to Pine and Strawberry. The store was very crowded and had lots of western items. I have to agree with the other reviewers. The customer service was terrible. I literally felt like I was bothering the older woman at the counter, just to pay for my items. Barely acknowledged me or my friend, there was only 3 customers in the store and she wasn't helping the other person either. The high prices and the rudeness was all the reason not to recommend or return. read more

I seriously can get lost in this store there are so many treasures that are there just waiting to be found. Today I found this little gem along with two great vintage pictures with frames. I am giving this store a generous two stars, only because of its potential. There is a huge amount of inventory here but unfortunately it's not curated in any way. There are many rooms with massive amounts of knickknacks, hodgepodge, etc., but you need to practically dedicate an entire day to digging around in here, to find ANYTHING of value. But I don't know why anybody would WANT to spend ANY time here because the unhappy woman who runs the place (from her unmovable perch at the front counter) sends out a vibe of "go away and stop bothering me" to virtually everyone who walks in the door. She is hard pressed to look up from her computer, and when she actually acknowledges a customer, it's with a glare of annoyance! I'm sorry, I really am, for whatever troubles this woman is experiencing that would cause her to have such a miserable outlook on life. But, she does own a business, and chasing away customers with a nasty attitude is counterproductive. On top of that, prices are unrealistic and there is clearly NO effort made to organize and/or display things in an appealing way. This could be a fun store, but as is, it's a mess. P.S. So .. hard to review a thrift store but here goes. Initially had high hopes but quickly turned downhill. First impression was the man behind the jewelry counter taking his retainer out and putting in back in while talking to us and then not washing/sanitizing his hands after. Would've asked him to pull some pretty jewelry out for me but NOT after seeing that. Besides that, the store was very crowded and hard to walk through. Overall, there were lots of fun trinkets, western boots, beautiful jewelry, lots of fun books to read through and cool things to look at. Could've spent hours looking around at all the cool antiques. Hoping to go back to look again with a better interaction with staff next time. read more

This is an unfortunate but necessary review... My overall opinion of the store: a very nice selection, but some items were laughably overpriced. My 1 star review is based solely on my experience with the owner and her "customer service": My family and I had been shopping at a half dozen vintage and antique stores during the day, and in no other store in the ENTIRE AREA did my family have any issues. Bottom line: I would highly recommend people with children steering clear of this store. Buyer beware. Here is the short story of simple hard facts....no name calling, no biassed opinion...just facts: As soon as my children entered the store, she said something to them for being in there (without parents) that my daughters later described as "not nice at all"...only she and my daughters know what was really said. I was unaware as I was outside looking at items. We had been to every other antique store in the area and my daughters were treated "above and beyond" kind. We had been out shopping for a ton of items to decorate our friends cabin, and my daughters and I are "serious" buyers. One shop we went to, the owner came to ME and asked ME if it was ok if she were to offer my daughters a couple pieces of candy for being such good customers. Moose Mountain was going to be our last stop until we headed back to the cabin. The entire day had been one of great experience after great experience and my daughters were welcomed everywhere they went. When we were all inside and after a little while of shopping around the store, one of my daughters came to me nearly crying saying she didn't want to be there anymore. It came to my attention that this woman (who later claimed to be the owner) chose to snap at my children a further 3 times while they shopped for items they were considering buying. While I was flipping through vinyl records, and without my knowledge, this woman repeatedly said things to my daughters that made them feel like they were bad kids, and it was obvious to them that they were not welcomed. My daughter told me "that lady doesn't like me". Not once did she ever talk to me. You can imagine my shock when I saw how very uncomfortable my children were to be there because of the way they were treated, I had a REAL problem with that. No child should EVER be treated the way this woman felt she was entitled to treat my children. I don't care if it was a store, a library, or a restaurant... A word of advice to the "owner": don't EVER talk like that to children, or think you are justified and/or have the right to discipline other peoples children....EVER. First: Try talking to the parents. He said she said, but after confronting here about what she did, she and I had a very short and all around RUDE conversation. Facts: Did it start out rude? Nope. Did it escalate quickly? Sure did. Did I tell her as I was walking out the door that I think the "rule of no children under 16 are allowed to touch anything or shop at this store " (and yes, I am paraphrasing) is a "dumbass rule" ? Yup...I sure did. While I was waiting outside did she choose to scream at my daughters: "GET OUT! You're trespassing!" Why yes....as a matter of fact...yes she did. After we all left the store we walked across the parking lot and were getting ready to get into the car. I was talking to and calming my daughters down when the store owner decided to come outside and continue to yell at my family. The only thing I got was: "if you dont like....blah blah" At that moment, the only way I could get her to stop screaming at me and my daughters was to yell OVER her saying: "STOP!! Go away! Leave us alone!"(verbatim) Ok... a little biasedness here: As I said in the beginning, it is really unfortunate, because the store had some potential to serious and frequent buyers like us. But in the end, I thank her for teaching my daughters a very valuable lesson: That there are mean and nasty people in the world and not everyone will like them, and that their father will not tolerate anyone treating his daughters like that. Side note: She calls me a liar on other review sites and makes me and my children out to be absolutely terrible, irresponsible people. I have challenged her to post the security tapes online to prove me wrong....or right. read more

Absolutely the worst costumer service. Went there today to buy some items for a charity event. Asked if she could help me find some Bear items. Was told " you just need to look. I don't know where they could be". Then she proceeds to tell a costumer " I just answer stupid questions with stupid answers ". How rude can you be. My favorite gift shop lies in the quaint little town of Pine, AZ. Stocked full of treasures new and old! Everytime I visit Pine, I have to stop into Moose Mountain and pick up a trinket for myself or a friend. Stop in here for a spell, don't rush yourself, and enjoy what the shop has to offer. read more

From the outside it looks like a huge junk shop due to the cluttered porch. HOWEVER, once inside we found room after room of neat, organized, clean, curated merchandise. I could have settled into the book nook for hours. There is a music section with organized long play albums, and cd's, a section of framed Arizona photos, a nook for cowboy boots, and a section with Maxwell Parrish prints..... I am a local, so I try to buy from the local shops in my little town. This store is amazing!! I always find a awesome unique gift for whatever occasion I am shopping for! My mom is the hardest to find a gift for, and I have bought all of her christmas and birthday and mothers day gifts here for a while. She loves everything I find. I think what makes it unique is that there are items from local quilters, and artists. Definately will enjoy the shop! My perfect fun little outing is a shopping trip to Moose Mountain and then brunch at the Randall House. I seriously live in the coolest little town. :) read more
