But this place made me want to leave immediately, despite all the cool finds. One reason, was because of the organization. Trust me when I say this, I've been to my fair share of antique shops. Most of them are a little unorganized and you kinda have to look for the cool stuff, but overall you can find certain items of the same kind. But this place was insane, absolutely no order to it, not to mention the insane dust in this place. No upkeep was happening, and there was no room to barely walk! It was almost like a dusty, very fragile, maze. The other reason for why I might not be back is the owner at the front desk. She was the rudest lady I've ever seen in an antique shop, let alone any business. I wish I didn't give her my money because she didn't deserve it. We were not acknowledged when we entered, even though she was right there and glared at us for entering her store. Plus, when checking out, I asked a question about something with no price tag, and she gave me the price and asked for a card immediately for the book I was buying. No conversation? A 15 dollar book by the way. No receipt, good bye or have a good day. Anyways, the last thing I wanted to mention, (thanks for making it this far) was that this seems to have been an ongoing problem, hence the other reviews I read from a couple years ago. I feel like, if you know people feel this way about your customer service, shouldn't you make a change? You ARE still running a business. 1 star!

You never know what treasures you will find. This store is a must stop at and/or travel to if you enjoy antiquing. Three stars, specifically for the fact that it's so extremely limited to see it open, if at all on the weekends and the owners and incredibly unfriendly. Makes you wonder why they even have a business at all? But also because the inventory here is mind boggling! For ALL things Americana; this is the place. It's only opened up on weekends, if at that. The elderly couple is a discernibly curmudgeonly old duo. Not many courtesies from them, including a smile, even if you warmly walk in WITH a smile. We were shocked at the owners attitudes and can't say this is a recommended spot to speak with the locals and learn about yesteryear with. When traveling and socialising with the local businesses, my wife and I enjoy the chance to meet and greet and learn from them. Not these two. They don't care to talk or socialize. Forget asking for discounts too, LOL. Not here... So, with the reference to the business, this place is a museum's dreamland. The artifacts, history, cast iron from the late 1800's, frontier era guns, hand crafted ceramics, and early Americana, is absolutely astounding on the eyes. I kid you not, most items here are in history books, and some are likely not! Though I've come back a time or two, know that there is zero local hospitality here. That aside, if you're a historical seeker of items, you certainly WANT to come here on the weekend and check this out. Bring cash, they don't talk in any other language.

A few weeks ago we chose Payson for our destination. When we drove into town, this was the first antique store we ran across. The store is very small and has a few interesting items. The Better Half found some ivory jewelry and turquoise rings for a decent price. However, when we went to pay, they informed us that they don't accept credit cards. It's cash only. Be prepared. The old man and his son, who own and run the place are pretty cool. They were very friendly and easy to talk to and told us how to get around town and make the most out of the few hours we were going to spend in Payson. Return Factor - 60%
