Slow cooked shredded chicken, good spices, tender rice, all around awesome. After expecting some thawed out soup block, it was pretty cool to see that much effort for something so overlooked elsewhere, especially for a coney island. The service is also fantastic. Food came out quickly and they have a young, friendly staff for the most part. Hard to find younger people that both work hard and treat customers well, and my experience here has always been good. 4 stars overall but for a coney island, I give it 5 stars. It is still priced like a coney island. Also Patrick A. Is an idiot momma's boy who thinks coffee comes free. Ain't nothing in life come free son, and that's the problem with handouts. You give someone a handout and they come to expect it. Can't believe you left a bad review over that... check your privilege. Complaining over a .35 cup of coffee lmfao, you must have never set foot in a bar before.

When you piss my laid back husband off you have definitely gone wayyy wrong. Our server was amazing though. Efficient and Uber friendly. We got our food quickly and piping hot, drink refills before needed. She was charming everyone in the room I think. Everyone seemed in a good mood. The food was nice. We especially likes our Cuban egg roll app. Stuffed full of meat, they had terrific flavor and were filling to boot. Made my husband thank about getting the sandwich next time. He had barbecued shrimp this time. Excellent bbq sauce. His sides of choice were really tasty vodka sauced pasta and just okay cheesy potatoes. I went with the piccata style perch which had great flavor, a perfectly done huge baked potato and a wreck of the loaded up brussels. The Brussels may do it for some but they were a no bueno flavor mess to me. Yikes. When I was nearly finished I got a big old bite of bone in my perch. The manager stopped by and was appropriately concerned, super apologetic. Offered us all kinds of freebies. I assured her it was not necessary. I truly enjoyed my meal there. I was stuffed and satisfied. We took prime rib melts to my parents and they were happy. Overall a nice food night. We will return.

I came with my nephew and sister and we were all surprised at the prices vs the portion sizes! Being from Atlanta I was expecting smaller portions but they go big here! I got the Fat Daddy Sandwich and was so excited to eat it and almost burnt my tongue. The chicken was freshly fried and dressed to order. I dug into the delicious cheese fries while I waited for my sandwich to cool. Pairing it all with the fried pickles just competed the whole meal. Small area to dine in, mainly waiting space, but it was a slow evening and we decided to hang out. If im in the area i would definitely visit again.

Still, it's always a pleasant treat to drop by and have some hot chicken once in a while. On my most recent visit, I got a couple of items: Chicken Cheese Fries, Mild ($13.70) - The fries are kind of chewy and not crisp but that could be because of the 15 min drive home before digging in. Fresh green onion and fried chicken tenders are dropped on top with the meat being not dry but not especially moist. In terms of spice level, we went with mild, which in this case is basically not spicy at all, giving just a very slight tingle on the tongue. Tangy, almost vinegary comeback sauce and a cheese sauce are drizzled on top of everything. Overall the seasoning level is good. I mean, it's fries with stuff on top; hard to mess that up. I just don't think I would get this again because the sandwiches are way better and this is just average. (3/5) Hush Puppies ($4.60) - One order comes with six pieces. These hush puppies have a nice crisp exterior skin with a tender and fluffy corn meal interior, seasoned perfectly. They come with the comeback sauce on the side, but I don't think they actually need the sauce as they are perfectly delicious by themselves. (4/5) The Fat Daddy, Hot, Pickles ($13.70) - Woah, this thing is hefty. I'd almost forgotten how big the sandwiches are. This single sandwich probably weighs equal to everything else we got. They give you a giant chicken thigh with a super moist interior and a crisp exterior. The chicken has a bit of heat at hot but is not overwhelming. Either my heat tolerance has gotten better or they've toned the heat down - I remember always getting the hot and having trouble with it in the past! They add a bit of slaw to add additional crunch. You can choose between pickles and peppers - I went with pickles to amp up the vinegar tangy notes. Everything is on a fluffy buttery bun. The sandwich comes with seasoned fries that are seasoned well and not overly salty. The texture feels a little chewy rather than being crisp and they look kind of pale, like they are under fried. A bit disappointing to be honest. (4/5) Since I first visited Fat Daddy's, they've expanded to a couple more locations around the Metro. I'm happy to see them getting their food out to a wider audience. I definitely recommend them, especially for their hot chicken sandwiches. Now if only they brought the hot bone-in chicken back - it's on the menu, but they don't actually carry it anymore. Overall rating of the food this visit: 3.67/5

Our waitress could pass for Sydney Sweeneys younger sister. She friendly and bubbly. We ordered steak n eggs, Philly cheesesteak, lemon soup and coney dogs. It came out in a decent amount of time. Steak n eggs was fine. My friend liked the lemon soup. The Philly cheesesteak was surprisingly good. The bun was soft and toasted. The seasoning was delish. We also never tried a coney dog from MI, so it was pretty good. Mainly because of the snap the dog had to it. The restroom however looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. At the end, we asked the check to be split. She didn't do it. So yeah, overall, would I come back? Meh, probably not.
