I've used this company now twice within the last three months and both times were stellar experiences. First one was to find and fix a leak deep into the walls behind my water heater. When I was afraid I'd need a whole new water heater, this was a quick fix and extremely reasonable price. So I immediately called them for a spigot replacement that I broke. had a horrible traumatic experience with one of their workers named ANTONY this morning. the company's van was blocking the driveway from our parking garage so I couldn't leave. Im a patient person & rolled my window to kindly ask if it's his car. RIGHT OF THE BAT, HE WAS AGGRESSIVE & HARRASING ME ABOUT THIS ISSUE THAT DIDNT HAVE TO BE A BIG DEAL. any other person would conversate - either say my car could probably go through or simply move their van.... He let me wait a long time/wont move his van & was screaming & harassing me that I have space...I could but itd be an inch & some cars were pulled a bit forward so I wouldn't wanna risk scratching their bumper. he eventually pulled forward but as I was carefully passing through with an inch on both sides since it's really tight, he kept beeping his horn while I was doing it while still continuously screaming @ me & throwing his hands up. BULLYING & HARRASSING me for no reason. I'm the kind to go peacefully but I went out the car & told him of not to speak to me that way. Esp in a place thats home & safe to me . Hes a big guy & im 5 foot as he was walking to me intimidatingly so I pushed him off WITH 2 FINGERS. he immediately was like very dramatic oh dont touch me etc etc then mockingly laughing so loud n continued to be aggressive to me.... i mockingly laughed back n gave him no space to talk over me till i can leave. I'm sorry you had a bad day & your abuela, mother or daughter wouldn't wana be spoken to/treated like that. you can't just harass people for no reason esp in their own homes. smh...our property said him/this business is no longer allowed back but I feel unsafe & on edge. Jacob outright refused to give me his name after he messed up but I managed to overhear it afterwards. I understand that accidents happen but you should probably own up to it and apologize (which he never did) instead of panicking and trying to hide from your error for fear of additional shame or embarrassment because it just looks all the worse and unprofessional now. Full story below. I live in a large apartment complex that subcontracted this plumbing job out to "Plumbing Authority". My mom passed away a month ago and we've avoided going into her room all that much while we've been grieving, so a pinhole leak developed unknown in her bathroom ceiling during that time period. These guys showed up and somehow busted open a sprinkler line or something soon after starting their work. Listen to the video included since the camera can't really pick up the water droplets but it sounded and looked like a full-on isolated shower being run through the hole in the ceiling in the picture attached. This lasted for about 15 minutes straight. As soon as it happened, the guy in charge (Jacob) called our apartment's maintenance people and asked them to shut off the water line, then he ran out while cursing up a storm and had his apprentice (Tim?) try to plug it with his hands as much as possible. The apprentice seemed nice enough but during his own panic he asked if he could borrow a container which had important documents in it to help catch the water (shouldn't they come prepared and have their own in case something like this happens?). When they were both together again I asked them off-camera if I could get their names and they bizarrely straight up ignored me. I went "Hello?" and repeated the question, Jacob asked "why", and I said just in case to know who was responsible for the potential damage because I didn't want it coming back to us. He said "technically I don't gotta give that to you boss", so I confirmed that they were refusing to give me their names and the apprentice said "I'm just listening to my boss, man." The leak stopped and still no towels to be found for the puddle of water seeping into the floor and carpet (again, should this not be a basic piece of equipment in this particular line of work?). I asked if they had any and they said the apartment's maintenance people would come take care of it once he finished the main job here (however long that would take). Eventually someone in charge of the apartment's maintenance did come and assure us that we wouldn't be responsible for any damage and instructed Jacob how to proceed, to please "make it look like you were never here", and that after checking downstairs they also needed to go and vacuum/dry some part of the downstair neighbor's unit (ceiling and/or carpet) because it had leaked through. As they were wrapping up and leaving, my little brother explained that the reason he was personally upset was because it was our recently deceased mother's bathroom which had remained sort of respectfully untouched, and again Jacob did not apologize or even offer condolences on a basic human level. All he said was something along the lines of "Yeah that's why we tried to act fast and get the line shut off, and again it's 'against our company's policy' to give out our names so you just gotta go through the apartment management for any concerns." If that's really "company policy" then why not mention it in between ignoring me and outright refusing to tell me? Not buying it. I sincerely wouldn't have even gone through the trouble of leaving this review and left it purely at keeping records for liability purposes, but I can't stand people not owning up to their mistakes, especially in professional scenarios. Accidents happen and the leak itself didn't even have to be the biggest deal in and of itself; the real problem was how poorly the human side and accountability was handled in response. Jacob and Chris serviced my bathroom sink drain and shower drain today. Both were clogged. Our previous plumber gave us all sorts of professional drain solutions which didn't work. The previous owner installed the dishwasher pipes/drain the wrong way. This prevented the dishwasher from being pushed all the way back the way it should be. Chrishawn came over and fixed it for us. And what's even better about this situation is that I did not know who to call for this, but had seen their company truck in front of my neighbor's house this morn. I called Plumbing Authority to repair a leaking faucet on my fiberglass whirlpool tub. The plumber they sent knew less about plumbing than I do. For instance, after he couldn't budge the valve with a wrench, I suggested that he use a ratchet. He said that he didn't have one, but then went out to his truck and brought in a ratchet set which also didn't work. Since he wasn't able to replace the valve from above the tub, he called his boss, Marty and he said that the tub needed to be pulled out and he quoted $1,100 minimum to remove the fiberglass tub to replace the valve. I have watched YouTube videos of such tubs being removed and it takes at most 90 minutes. Plumbing Authority estimated that it would be an all day job. That is a lie! This job should take no more than 3-4 hours to pull the tub, replace the valve and re-install the tub. Also, they charge $90/hour but quoted a minimum of $1,100. That comes out to over 12 hours for this job. Plumbing Authority should be avoided! They are crooks! *****REVIEW UPDATE as of 7 PM 12/11/18***** This afternoon I called the handyman that I've used in the past for non-plumbing jobs to ask him his opinion about this issue. He told me to soak the frozen nut with WD-40 since that should loosen the nut. I told him that I had as of last night. He told me to reapply the WD-40. He just finished removing the nut and replaced the valve!!!! The total cost was $80 of labor plus $35 for the valve for a total of $115. In addition, most of the labor was the travel time to purchase the $35 valve. He actually only spent 15 minutes working the job!!!!! Although he's not a licensed plumber, my handyman sure knows his stuff! So, my leak is fixed and I only paid $115, not $1,100! read more

We had this company changing the showers valve and diverter for $1100 plus fixing a pipe in the garage ceiling. That was on January. We know usually companies give a 30 days guaranty but still I gave a call and told them about it and they weren't nice at all. By March 1st we were already having trouble with the pipe in the garage. It was a mess with water everywhere. Good thing we got home warranty because they found out the diverter was improperly done and leaking everywhere. I met with Brian of Plumbing authority to look at a job. He came out and gave me a bid of $600.00. I agreed, and he said he would be out to do the work. The next week two guys pulled up in a work truck. Neither of them were Brian. They seemed nice enough and I showed them to the work, asked if they had any questions and left. I was contacted by my GC a few days later. He told me the job was done incorrectly. Sure enough, I wen't by the house and they had installed plastic (ABS) fittings behind a beautiful pedestal tub. The fittings were in plain view as you enter the bathroom. Unsightly! I called Brian and I asked him to fix it. There was a lot of "Well, yeah, Oh yeah I get it OK" but no " I am so sorry and I would like to make it right, when can we schedule something" He told me to call him back. The bill came and the $600.00 turned into $1000.00. I paid it and I called him back urging him that I needed the problem resolved. Never heard back. Needless to say, it's been almost a year and the pipes remain. No follow up. Because of the aloof attitude of Brian "Plumbing Authority", I didn't want to try to wrestle an evasive vendor down. I'd rather pay a professional to fix the work and not have to hear any excuses. I have since found an excellent Plumber. They are timely and professional and have always given me straight answers and solutions on other jobs. I've used them from complicated repiping, to pipe repair and drain work. They are CASTLE PLUMBERS 818-362-2728. Gil is the man. Great guy! As for Plumbing Authority...this review is about as much energy I will put into them. read more
