Outstanding oysters and chowder. Homemade brown bread. Casual. Very friendly. Not expensive.

Tried twice, succeeded once, to eat here. Made a reservation to get in the second time…read more Unfortunately our group of 4 were sat by the kitchen exit. Too much traffic, glass bottles dropping (crashing) in to a bin. Could've done without that, startling every time someone dropped or threw a bottle in. On to the rest of the experience. We got set very quickly, upon verifying our reservation. Took too long for the server to come around and off us anything. Got our drink order in, drinks cane pretty quickly, bottles of beer and a pour of wines. Food orders got in shortly afterwards, with the wait time not taking too long. Our group ordered the Tempura Prawns, Grilled Hake with mashed potatoes & broccolini, grilled hake with chips & broccolini, seafood linguine. Everything was prepared nicely and tasted quite good. Good volume of food too, nobody left hungry. The service... not that great. Really took away from the overall experience. Not engaging, not explaining dishes, kinda cold! Took multiple tries to get their attention. Not a complete showstopper but could definitely use improvement. Cheers.

We were eventually seated at a communal table which did end up being a lot of fun as we met two sisters traveling together and a young couple on a birthday trip. We had a lot of fun talking with everyone and comparing travel notes. Service was fast and the food was good... fresh and tasty... but I did think that portions were a bit small for the price. With the exception of dessert which was quite a lot and good for sharing.

We were seated at a lovely table alongside a window so were able to watch the street activities with the off and on rain of early June. The broad menu tempted us to share starting with the delicious crab claw appetizer-about 6-8 small crab claws served in a buttery garlic sauce that you pick up and eat. Next we enjoyed the savory Caesar salad absolutely loaded with crispy bacon on a bed of butter lettuce. We split a 8 oz. Beef filet for our main and chose the rich whiskey peppercorn sauce as the topping. The meal came with fries/chips and there was fresh bread throughout the meal. There's a nice wine list and drinks menu. The frozen "parfait" with chocolate and baileys (more like a slice of ice cream) was a fitting end to the meal. We parked at the city lot at the market which has only a few minutes walk away. Recommended

In two weeks of eating around Ireland, this was the standout. Great food, great service and great…read moreambiance sitting in the bar area ( which is in several rooms). Where to begin? Every dish we ordered was good: oysters with rhubarb salsa; sweet potatoes/split pea dip with pita; tamarind beef skewers; mushroom dumplings; beet salad and the amazing ceviche. All are small plates perfect for sharing. Everything was excellent though the dumplings were under spiced. One fun note: they sell glasses of mystery wine, high quality wine not listed on the menu and you guess what it is. We had a few! Padraic o conaire, the Irish author that Galway likes to talk about, lived where the restaurant is based now. The rooms are filled with plants and photos; as well as jars of liquor being infused for future cocktails. Reservations are mandatory but not too hard to get in the bar. We compared menus and actually preferred the bar menu. It's pricey but a great evening

I wish I could give Ruibin 5 stars but the items we ordered were not all 5 star items although I'd go back for the seafood ceviche alone and just eat that and the tomato salad and call it quits. - bread and butter provided at no charge were excellent - 5/5, soft chewy bread with a nice crust - sweet potato and split pea puree with pistachio and pita - 4/5, yummy and a solid offering - seafood ceviche - 5*/5 this was truly the star of the night. Deliciously fresh with two large round fresh tortilla wafers so so good! - duck breast - 5/5, this was my partner's outstanding dish - the duck was perfectly done and with a crisp skin. Wish I'd ordered this one. Instead (having had fish for the last seven meals!), I ordered - pastrami bavette (sliced steak with a very heavy crust of very salty spicy pastrami seasoning). The server did warn me it would be spicy and it definitely was - a bit too much so and salty too - perhaps if they had seasoned it a bit more lightly / the end piece that were mostly pastrami seasoning were almost inedible they were so salty. The potato side that came with it was delicate and crisp and delicious, I did eat a lot of the steak just around the pastrami crust and I did not have the bleu cheese since I don't care for bleus- that may have softened the saltiness, maybe - tomato salad - 5/5, this was excellent and light with juicy tomatoes, radish slices, some greens We didn't see anything appealing on the dessert menu so skipped that part, We're glad we tried Ruibin and would definitely go back for the ceviche alone!
