Their deli has great food either cooked to order or serve-yourself hot dishes like chili and Mac and Cheese. After hours for the deli, you can still get a nice set of selections, including my favorite--their deviled eggs. And pretty soon, the serve-yourself creemee machines will be up and running for the season. Did I mention their specials? Including the annual lobster boil? Oh, and they were the first gas station in the Valley to offer ethanol-free gas. Plus, they give back a percentage of gas sales to a local charity each month. The VG is truly a gem! As my 12 year old has noted, Vermont gas stations are a breed of their own. Many seem to carry local products, freshly made food, wine, craft beers and all sorts of other goodness. This Mobil is truly exceptional on this front, a great gift for travelers everywhere. Staff are unfailingly kind and hospitable. Let me repeat that: The STAFF ARE WONDERFUL, especially the beautiful, cheerful woman working on Christmas Eve!!! If there were some sort of award for loveliest employee ever, she would easily win. There's a huge variety of fermented, probiotic pickles; maple syrup + maple products; delectable deviled eggs; portable, locally-made jerky; wine; Lawson's and other locally brewed craft beer; candy and small toys; batteries; Advil and allergy medicine; windshield wiper fluid; and when it's not almost closing time on Christmas Eve, some frou frou, way-better-than-they-have-to-be-for-a-gas-station finds like pizza, chicken tenders, fried ravioli, prepared and made-to-order sandwiches, hot dogs and bratwurst, soups and stews, cookies and whoopie pies from a local bakery. On Christmas Eve, local grocery stores locked their doors by 5:45 p.m. for a 6 p.m. close, so we were unable to pick up some staples when we arrived at exactly 5:45 p.m. This Mobil came to the rescue and we stocked up on some basics (local craft brews, wine, eggnog, milk, delectable deviled eggs, locally-made cheddar + Babybel cheese... which go nicely in little pockets for skiing). It is also the greatest filling station in the world. Why? Heady Topper is available here on weekends. You can stroll in on Sunday and buy a four-pack of Heady Topper, which I don't believe you can do anywhere else in the world on Sunday. As beer geeks know, The Alchemist's Heady Topper is widely regarded as the best beer you can buy (#1 on Beer Advocate). As beer tourists know, Heady Topper is distributed only on weekdays and only in a short radius from the brewery, which is now closed to the public. You can (legally) buy Heady Topper no farther East than Barre, no farther South than Warren, no farther West than Burlington, and no farther North than Morrisville. Because the beer is highly sought after and delivered only on weekdays, there's generally no place to get cans of it on the Weekend (all of the cases at Hunger Mountain are consumed within hours of delivery on Friday, for example). EXCEPT for this Mobil. They do something I don't believe any other Alchemist vendor does; they split their Thursday shipment up into four parts and make some available every day Thu-Sun. That means if you arrive early enough on Sunday you can buy a heady topper. If you're a working stiff in Boston, you can visit Vermont on the weekend knowing you will come home with four pints of perfect, glorious Heady Topper DIPA. ...If you get there early enough. They open 6 AM. Heady topper in middle fridge in the back on the top. Ask the clerk if you don't see it (especially if you are not tall, because the cans might be all the way in the back of the rack). Limit one four-pack.

He asked me to help him iron his suit and prepare the saddle for him on the day of the big ride and everything was going great until we the kangaroo showed up. THis Kangaroo was a big fella. He was fighter and a real mustang type of animal and my friend Jack started getting nervous as hell. I was soothing his nerves telling him that it was the right thing to do and keeping his spirits up. Instead of riding the kangaroo to the girls house Jack put the kangaroo in his truck and planned on riding it the last mile. When the kangaroo got in the whole affair turned ugly and the kangroo messed up the truck big time so we had to wash it a couple days later. We brought the truck here and it was really good for cleaning it.
