I've been to this Moretti's location a few times now. The ambience is nicely decorated with an ample bar area. The happy hour is from 4 to 6 PM during the week and Moretti's offers various appetizers and drink specials. The male bartender with the beard makes the best French martinis! The lemon drop martini on the hour menu is also very tasty. The meatball sub and Jessica's chicken sandwich with focaccia is fantastic! The fries are very good too! I give this restaurant 4.5 stars. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Update since my first visit. This time I was in the upstairs private room for a work meeting. The service was excellent. A buffet dinner was served midway through the meeting. I wish the food was marked gluten free or not because I was afraid to have anything but the vegetables and mashed potatoes. There was gravy on both the beef and the chicken. The salad had croutons. The room has very tall ceilings so it becomes very noisy and hard to hear the person talking across the table. There were restrooms right outside the room and an elevator for those who can't navigate stairs. read more

We really enjoyed thin crust pizza. This establishment also had two musicians playing cover songs and a half dozen instruments- singing, drums, guitar, violin, etc. They were talented and I was mesmerized watching them while eating. We have been to this location in Elgin many times. The food is great and the service is superb. We had the server Zach Samaan numerous times. He is courteous, helpful and very pleasant. We came here for lunch. They have GF pizza and pasta. I ordered a cheese and garlic pizza. The server made sure everything was separate and was very careful with all the food. We never get to any of the other places out here because we always choose Sushi Station. On our way back from Iowa this week, we realised SS was closed on Mondays so we stopped in here, having been to one in Rosemont before. This one is HUGE! Seriously, if you need a work or kid or any party space, this has it. We got a kids make your own pizza, a kid ravioli and a soup/salad combo. Service was very good - helpful and friendly. The bathrooms are very clean which is not always the case at a place where a giant kid party just left (maybe because it was boys and we were all girls we were spared any mess!). I ordered the chicken limone which was pretty good. They have a great beer selection and a full bar. The ambiance here is great!! However, the service today was terrible.....no nice way to put it. It was not very busy yet we were constantly trying to find our server so that he could perform his job. We waiting 15 minutes for drinks and our food took 45 minutes. The last appetizer plate wasnt cleared till well after we all were done with dinner. There was no clear explanation to the terrible service but it was far below minimal expectations. To top it off, we brought in a cheesecake for a bday celebration. We needed more plates and our server brought a stake of 4 plates that clearly just had food on them. These were absolutely not cleaned at all. It was the end of a pretty terrible experience. We really want to like this place, but the menu is making it difficult. The environment of the place is great, and the staff is very friendly, but most of the food on the menu isn't that good. We've been there over a dozen times and tried a lot of different items, but besides 2 or 3 things on the menu the rest is pretty sub-par. - burgers taste like cardboard - beef bowl is depressing to eat - broasted chicken has no flavor - steak isn't anything special We are hoping the food changes in the next few months or we'll just need to stop coming to this place. read more

It's a very beautiful place, lots of seating and lots of parking. Service was amazing for sure. The drinks were really well made and very tasty. Love the coconut onion rings! BUT sadly the fettucini alfredo was too bland, I couldn't eat it. The chicken was cooked well & I didn't understand the chunks of broccoli but it was ok. I love it here, always a great meal! I have also been to their Bartlett and Rosemont locations, and they are consistently excellent no matter your choice of location. They have a great selection of gluten-free entrees, including pizza and pasta, and a nice selection of wines. In addition, they offer happy hour entrees and, my favorite, their "Steak & Bake" special, which consists of a salad, a nicely seasoned and cooked strip steak, and a large baked potato with sour cream for $16 on Thursdays. They pour a decent cocktail here, too. It's a great place for a night out with friends or with your whole family. read more

I had a confirmed 7:30 PM reservation at Moretti's on August 5th to celebrate my birthday, booked through OpenTable. When I arrived (7:15pm), I was told that because my reservation was made last minute, I couldn't be seated right away and would have to wait about an hour. This policy was never mentioned when booking, and the reservation was confirmed in the OpenTable system. I planned my evening around that confirmation, so it was extremely frustrating to be turned away from my table. If a restaurant can't honor last-minute reservations, they should not allow them to be confirmed on OpenTable, or at least make this clear before booking. We love Moretti's!!!! It is so awesome that they added this new location. Moretti's pizza is top notch with a thin cracker crust. The sauce is really tasty, and the toppings are plentiful. The appetizer list and salads are also favorites of ours. We love the bruschetta, everything about it is perfect, the toast, the tomatoes, the mozzarella are so good and the amount of basil, oil and salt they add to the top knocks it out of the park. Another recommendation would be the chopped chicken salad, it's amazing! I take off the olives, but everything else is better than any chopped salad around. The potion is plentiful as well. Now, the best for last...Their happy hour!!!!! M-F from 3-6, all the locations I've been to have the same amazing deals. 10 inch one topping pizza for $6, half off select apps, including the bruschetta, and tons of drink specials. Im giving a two star because I do love Morettis. This is my first time at this location. I am a server and understand the business. In my day if we were short staffed we closed sections. They are noticeably short staffed with every table filled with every table also complaining a lot about the customer service. Our party was a group of four. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. But the food was a little lacking this time which was very disappointing. One of us got the spaghetti and meatballs. I paid $45 for this... I know it's cold outside, but the food was colder. I stood by myself for 10 minutes with another guy who's pizza was messed up so he was waiting for a remake. Watching all of the waiters walk by without even making eye contact. Finally I get my order it's light, so I peak inside and asked if it's supposed to come with garlic bread or anything. The hostess didn't know but the waiter said yes. So she rolled her eyes and went back got one piece... I asked there is two orders of pasta.. and she rolled her eyes even more at me and got it. All worth it if portion sizes are good and taste good, right? Nope. Pasta is dry, garlic bread was just cold soggy bread with butter, and even with the extra meat sauce I ordered on the side was only filled half way... My boyfriend and I got a facebook ad for a bingo night event and we thought we would check it out, my boyfriend then called to make sure the age limit was good for us just to see if we were okay to play and the lady who answered the phone then said she would speak to a manager as she was unsure. She then came back with confirmation saying "Yes, it is 18+". So I'm like perfect. We then go and are asked for ID's AFTER the main guy gave us our bingo utilities. The woman says, "You guys have to be 21+ to play bingo" Now shocked, we then get kicked out. In the parking lot I then proceed to call them and ask again, my boyfriend records the convo, and as you can hear in the video unless you are just as mindless and incompetent as the Elgin Morettis staff, she clearly says, "No you can be any age to play bingo". So we go back inside and tell the manager, who then says "No you have to be 21" and tells us how the host may have made an error. You guys made an error twice? I'm sorry but if you're having an event that has an age requirement, maybe educate your slow staff to be aware of the age that is required instead of losing business and kicking out customers who were told TWICE that they were able to play.
