I went here with my friend and the chips and salsa were so good!! I got the bacon cheese burger and was thinking if I could get smashed avocado on it and they were able to do that. Went here to kill time between hockey games based on the positive reviews and we were so disappointed!!! Sat down almost immediately, and waited an HOUR AND A HALF for our food. We had to speak up and ask where our food was and magically it came out less than 10 minutes later--Claimed it was bc they were busy but nearly everyone in the restaurant had their food already and not every table was even occupied. Apparently we ordered the SMASH burger, hold the Smash. They were super thick, definitely NOT a smash burger. I didn't tell them well done because, well, a smash burger is always well done because it is THIN. It was so undercooked I couldn't even eat it. My son's was worse than mine but he ate it anyway since he had a game to get to. Server didn't bother to offer any compensation for any of it. Food tastes great! They have daily specials and I got the OG Burger. Very big and very well cooked. Only small complaint was my wife ordered fries well done and they came out soggy. I went to the Arctic Wolf last night for my first time and I already can't wait to return! To start, when I walked in, it smelled so good so I already knew I was in for a treat. My fiancé and I are originally from the area so we were excited to try just for a change from the usual places. I ordered a glass of cab and my fiancé ordered a Coors which were both as expected. To eat, I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap without the chicken as I am a vegetarian. The server was so sweet about saying they can accommodate the chicken being left out and went above and beyond to even check if they had alternative vegetarian "meat" options which I found out they do! I typically don't like substitute meats so I declined but was really happy to know they provide other options for vegetarians like myself. My fiancé got the Mac Stack burger because I mean, it just sounded so good (I even agreed). Our food was great and will say, I really enjoyed the crispy tator tots that came with mine! I ended up getting a side of the Wild sauce because I love sauces and it was super tasty. I want to go out of my way to say how absolutely AMAZING my service was. I totally wish I got the girl's name but I could not have even dreamed of better service (and I used to be in the service industry myself). Not only attentive but she was SO kind the entirety of our meal, going out of her way to check on alternative options, check in a few minutes after we received our food, and was just overall really great. 11/10 service truly. 10/10 experience at Arctic Wolf Ale house. A smaller bar and grill with delicious smash burgers. Ordered the Bacon and Cheese burger with tater tots and i would get it again. They have a couple different Smash Burgers and they all sound delectable. Their burger patty's are thinner than the average ones but it was a good portion and size burger. Tater tots remind me of McDonalds hash browns, yumm. The shrimp was also nicely coated in the boom boom sauce. The service was great and food came out quickly. Finally stopped in for dinner. We tried the Nachos which were ok and could have been warmer. Not much shredded cheese in and what on them did not appear to be melted. Went for the fish fry which was also ok. Lots of breading in the fish so much so the you really couldn't taste the fish. Tried out Arctic Wolf Ale House tonight and had an amazing experience. Had their cheese curds which were great but pairing it with a mixed berry sauce wasn't anything I've ever considered with curds but it was such a great compliment to them and we annihilated them. Nicole was amazing as our waitress, personable, accommodating, and she recommended the smash burger tacos which I ended up trying which I'm so glad she recommended them. Never had anything like them before and they were incredible. The tortillas were perfectly toast, the smash burger patty had a great crust, and fresh cut veggies. Hope it's something they put on the menu as we'll be going there again. My kids can be picky about their food and my son was raving about his burger the whole ride back home. A lot of places claim they do smash burgers but they end up being regular burgers. This place knows how to do smash burgers. Perfect amount of crust on the patties. Their wolf sauce is a great on the tacos and on the side with fries. Definitely a place we'll be hitting up again and will recommend to friends. read more

Tried on a Friday night. I'm happy to have tried at an earlier dinner time because the crowd seem to come in once we sat down. The server was friendly and even though the place was busy, she was very personable. We got the curds to start. Slightly pricy but they were sure tasty! I tried two cocktails; limoncello spritz and royal sunset. I would definitely get the royal sunset again! For my meal I enjoyed a single of burger but was surprised the price wasn't adjusted for the single patty burger as all burgers are served with two. Amazing smash burgers cooked exactly how they are supposed to be with the carmelization of fat and meat collide topped with classic American cheese. It makes my mouth water just recollecting them. I got to try a new burger place around the Carpentersville area. How did their burger hold up to the other's I have been to? Let's find out: Ambiance The restaurant is pretty well-lit. They also have a bigger dining area connected to the main room where there is a side bar. The noise level is good, but I have only been there when it is an off time. There are TVs on the wall and at the bar. Overall, the spacing between the tables is good and does not seem cluttered. Service The service is really good. The server is friendly. Also, the speed of the food arrival is pretty good. We did not have to wait too long for the food. Food I have tried several items on their menu: Mushroom swiss burger The burger is very well made. It is a very well-prepared smash burger, where there is an outer crust and a juicy middle. The number of mushrooms was proper, where it wasn't spilling out everywhere and had enough mushroom taste to state its presence. One thing to note is that the burger was not as greasy as some similar mushroom Swiss burgers I had tried before. I got my burger with tater tots, which are crunchy pillows. Hot 'n' guac burger The hot part is the sliced pickled jalapenos in the burger. It had moderate heat to it. The guac part was a little confusing to me since it gave the burger a creamy aspect but was overpowered by the jalapeno flavor. Fish and chips The cod was cooked perfectly. The fish and a light but very crunchy coating. The tater sauce paired well with the fish and it had a creamy consistency. It came with standard chips (fries) which were very well-cooked. Overall I enjoyed eating at the Arctic Wolf Bar. The burgers are great and the service is well done. I would recommend Arctic Wolf Bar to eat at. read more

A friend recommended this hidden gem and we're so glad we went. After a hectic work week sometimes you just don't want to fuss. Close but a little off the beaten path, this casual atmosphere features sports on screens and slots. The hubs had a fabulous bacon cheese smash burger and I enjoyed - as in "wolfed down" haha - a wonderful fresh crispy, grilled chicken salad. Service by Nicole was superb in this cute place. (Dylan will be happy to tell you some of the wonders of growing up in Alaska - we visited in 2018 and it was incredible). The Friday night fish fry also looked amazing - next time! Great, I mean GREAT smash burgers here. People are on the mark by their raves about them. I had the smash burger with bacon that was the best I've eaten by far. Meaty patty and NOT greasy like so many burgers can be. I also tried the cheese steak that was good but too cheesy for my liking. The beer selection was ok but not enough microbrewed choices when it came to variety. (Lots of IPAs if you like those). I was also disappointed that our food wasn't as hot as it should've been. However, our server was pleasant and she did her best albeit super crowded. The interior is on par with the usual taproom but has a cute forest feel. After driving by this place for years, we decided to give Arctic Wolf a try. We were all pleasantly surprised. Really great smash burgers and good food and drinks overall. Our server was great and the atmosphere was good. My only negative (which is why I gave 4 stars) were the prices. Prices are a tad steep for what it is (most notably the appetizers). If the apps were more reasonably priced, this place would be a home run. Unfortunately, this will probably keep us from visiting more in the future. We saw a review on tiktok, so needless to say after our son's hockey game we decided to stop over to check this spot out on our way home. Menu is not overwhelming and prices are fair. We grabbed loaded fries for an appetizers and it was amazing. Only complaint...portion was too small lol definitely enough for two but not 3 people. My husband had the bacon cheese smash burger and it was delicious! Very well seasoned, perfect crispy edges but the burger itself was still juicy. My son grabbed a bowl of chili and he said it was good, onions could be chopped a little smaller but otherwise it was good. The Cesar dressing on the side salad was amazing. Totally getting some protein on it next time. The place was not packed for a Saturday but with how slow the food was coming out you would have thought the kitchen was packed. Decor is in theme with the Arctic feel. There's an amazing black light painting by the bar area. My son loved. Overall we give this place a 8/10. read more

We were there last night for their fish fry. It was very disappointing. The price for 4 pieces of cod with a small cole slaw and fries was $25.00!! If you got a small side salad in place of the French fries, it was an additional $4.00. My husband requested mayonnaise and they charged $.50 for about 2 tablespoons! Server: Our server was pleasant but was a super low-talker and we had to ask her to repeat herself constantly. Nachos: The nachos had lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and layers of cheese. The first layer was queso liquid cheese, which was super cold. The top visible layer was shredded cheddar and monterey, which was also super cold and NOT melted, like they didn't even attempt to melt it- they threw the cheese on it as an after thought and off it went to our table-weird. It ended up tasting like a taco salad. OG burger: It looks impressive, but the taste? Not so much. The meat was dry and unseasoned, and there was not enough of the wolf sauce. It was super mediocre. Our small group of 3 selected the Bavarian pretzel for our appetizer. It arrived hot and salted and included 3 sauces, a mustard based sauce, a cheese sauce and we think a ranch sauce. Not sure about the 3rd one. This was the first time I had a smash burger. There are several choices on the menu. I chose the Timber burger. It had grilled onions, mushrooms, and cheese. I enjoyed it a great deal. Everyone in our group enjoyed their entre. For me personally, I was disappointed with the beer selection. I prefer stouts and porters. Sadly, these were not available. If your tastes tend toward the mainstream brews, however, then you will be happy. read more
