Sad to be leaving a review like this. I try very hard to be positive...I used to love this place...sadly something has changed. About a month ago I ordered three meals from them. When I called I was very disappointed to hear they discontinued my staple, The Grinder on garlic toast. Oh well...I am flexible... I was exited about the chicken parmesan sandwich in garlic toast, we also ordered a chicken Alfredo, Italian beef and fries. To start with my chicken parmesan WAS NOT on garlic toast (which I paid extra for) the chicken was overcooked, dry and strips. Ate about three bites. The fries we under cooked and soggy and the chicken parmesan had NO flavor. Italian beef was neither good nor bad... Well, anyone can have an off day so I decided I would just stick to their pizza which historically had been delicious. Fast forward to today, I was returning for a 2.5 hour drive and thought I'd treat myself to a delicious pizza for today and preparing for tomorrows incoming snow storm. I picked the pizza up and headed home. Sadly, I should have checked it there before leaving...the bacon was all burnt (tasted burnt not just looked burnt). Yes, I did pick off most of the burnt bacon, but got $30+ for a picked up pizza that is not really ok with me ... beyond that the crust was soggy and I couldn't really pick up the pieces to eat them. It will be an extremely long time before I order or go there again. Makes me very sad as this used to be a staple of mine and it is SOOOO close to home. Husband and I just came back from dinner at CPA. We had the cod dinner and was it ever delicious! Plenty of food , the warm bread, the fries, so good. First, the good things. Service was fine. We ordered a salad, double dough pizza and 2 glasses of wine, one cabernet, one pinot grigio. Wine came out, the pinot grigio was warm, not room temp but really warm like it had been out in the sun all day. Ok, said nothing, waited until i got a glass of water and some silverware and put the ice cubes from my water into the wine. Next, the pizza. We wanted double dough, sausage, onion and mushrooms. They were out of sausage, so OK we can pivot and ordered double dough, ground beef, onion and mushroom. The salad came out and it was fine. Pizza came out. Waitress tells us it was made wrong. It was the thin not the double crust. Ok, again, i can go with the flow, thin pizza, no problem. Ordered a second glass of cabernet. Nope!, they were out of cabernet. So went with the merlot. Next, The pizza looks good so I bite into the pizza. Found 2 pieces of cardboard obviously cooked into the pizza. Not tiny pieces. We're done. Spoke to the waitress discreetly and paid for the first 2 glasses of wine and the salad. Never touched the 3rd glass of wine. I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed this place before it's one of my go to pizza places. Their staff is friendly and polite. The wait times can get a little long even if you're ordering just a salad the wait can be anywhere from 30-40min. However, I believe it's better quality than Pizza Hut or Dominos. I haven't ventured their menu too much but whatever I have tried it's always great. My favorite pizza is their Hula! I know, I know, supposedly pineapple doesn't go on pizza but this one's even better since they use bbq instead of pizza sauce. Their Chicago style is also really good! Tried one of their reasonably priced lunch specials today, soup salad and bread sticks with beverage. The salad was large and cold and crispy. The bread sticks with a side of marinara dipping sauce were scrumptious Aand a whole order! Soup of the day was a nice size of chili, homemade and tasty. Although I usually go there for their great pizza, i will be back to try another lunch special( Monday through Fridays. ) Its a bargain! I have been here numerous times, I can't believe I'm only now writing a review! This is definitely my favorite pizza in Elgin. I've only ever had the thin crust pizza here and it might been the best Chicago tavern-style pizza I've ever had! Reasons: They consistently load their pizza with plenty of cheese. Lots of cheese, always. And I always swap out their regular pizza sauce for GARLIC MARINARA. It's so unbelievably good. Fresh and garlicky. I pretty much always order a house salad (large generous size for less thank $5!) and the creamy garlic salad dressing is one of the best salad dressings I've ever had. My favorite pizza toppings combo is PEPPERONI AND PINEAPPLE. If you haven't tried this please do, it's the perfect combination or cheesy, salty, sweet and tangy, loads of flavor, especially with that garlic marinara. I'll be back one thousand times. read more

I would give it no stars if I could We ordered from here they said 45 min wait we ordered a big pizza wings and mozzarella sticks went maybe at the 40 min when we got home everything was cold. Almost 60$ in everything we spent . We called and the lady said they would give us a credit for the inconvenience since everything was cold and said it would be a longer wait if they redid it so we just took the $40 credits we called back a couple days later and they said that we made it up and they could give us $5 credit for food that was cold . This is insane. We order from here all the time this is a first time this ever happens but never ordering again.They didn't have to say we had a credit and it was a lie. Good pizza and we've tried several of their pizza offerings since that review. But when dining in the service was incredibly slow (sandwiches should not take longer than a pizza to come out), not attentive at all (drinks never refilled & no check-ins beyond taking order & dropping off the food), and our sandwiches were incredibly greasy to the point we didn't finish our sandwiches and didn't even bother to take the leftovers home. We ordered a pizza at the store for take out; and it didn't have cheese on it. Not the first time this has happened. Last night I spoke to the manager, and ordered a delivery of extra crispy french fries, perch and a pizza. She knew and remembered me from their last fiasco! The pizzas was great! The Perch, fries, sides, and burned bread were not so good! If you offer a side (coleslaw) it would be nice if that side was more than 1 ounce of slaw and equal to the volume if you were to order fries! The fries: I made a point of confirming that I wanted extra crispy (twice fried) french fries. I confirmed my modification of the fires on the receipt and with the manager. They were delivered less fried than if I would have not requested any modifications! At the end of the day... CPA is no longer a viable pizza vendor for us. We will never order them again! read more

This place used to be good. 2 1/2 years ago, i ordered a pizza that was delicious. Another time I ordered baked chicken. It was pricey, $16, but despite the fact that it was overpriced, it was juicy and flavorful. They have since gone down hill - they are always advertising for staff - cooks, servers and delivery people. It would be one thing if they were swamped with all sorts of new customers because their food was good. It's not. One day I had a taste for a hamburger and there were no hamburger places around. I had one of their menus and noticed they offered a 1/2 lb. hamburger they called the "belly buster." I ordered it and was in the area, so I said I'd pick it up. When I got it, I had been charged for a smaller hamburger. The counter person told me the belly buster was a double and she had given me a single. I told her to forget it, I would take the single. When I opened it to eat it, there was this flat, unappetizing disk of hamburger meat dwarfed by the bun, overcooked and dry. All that came with it was one slice of tomato and some lettuce. Nothing else. Everything is ale carte unless you order a dinner. I had the baked chicken one other time a couple of years later, and it tasted old, as if it had been sitting around and was reheated. I have no intention of ever ordering from them again when I'm in the area. I've thrown their menus away. read more

Ordered grub hub for my family last night, two Chicken Parmesan, one penne broccoli, an order of inferno wings and mozzarella sticks... it was a last minute decision and I had very low expectations considering the reviews already left by other Yelpers. I was pleased with my order and family was satisfied, kids especially loved the pasta in Alfredo sauce. Quantity was generous and garlic bread was fresh. Order was ready and delivered when they said it would, I honestly had no complaints. I'm a one happy customer! Keep up the good work I'll order from here more often. read more
