MOREYS!!! EXCEPTIONAL!!! I am a delivery driver for a BIG-name company. I was delivering to a customer's house whom I frequent often with deliveries. The owner's driveway is a turn around and also being widened due to construction on the property. Fast forward, after turning around and driving down the driveway my passenger back wheel caught a dip that was full of gravel and mud!!! I got stuck needless to say! My company was notified and said they would call AAA and get back to me with an ETA. 1 hour later, well, that didn't happen as there was all sorts of reasons, we couldn't get a tow for me. SMH I grabbed my phone looked for the nearest tow to help assist and Found Moerys!! This company is affiliated with AAA! BINGO!!! Amy answered and I explained what happened and said they could be there in 20 minutes. Well, my work was going back and forth for 2 hours with AAA. Yep I'm still waiting for them to call Moerys to get me out. Well after a few more agonizing moments of WTF I called the owner, He says "were still on hold with AAA". My reply was" I gave dispatch a number to tow company that can be here in 20 minutes, they work with AAA, the reply given was "give me their number." 45 minutes later Moerys was contacted, and they were on their way!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! To Don my driver, Amy, and anyone else involved that helped me through my terrible ordeal last night, you guys rock! I was stuck in Cortland, going home to Syracuse from Vestal. My car decided it wanted to hate me, and left me stranded in unknown territory. They stored and brought me my car this morning, with no hassle and made my day and my overall experience better by not charging me the overage fee, or to protect my beast overnight (for whatever the reason, my credit card also thanks you!). UNRELIABLE AND DISHONEST I called them ahead of time to tow my son's junk car from a SUNY Cortland lot to a garage that was going to buy the car from us. We set an appointment for them to meet us by the car at noon (I live over an hour away). I call Morey's to tell them I am there waiting and to help them find the car in the big lot, and they tell me that despite our appointment, they cannot get to me for a few hours. I had to leave for my own other appointments and was not happy. They then told me that if I would leave the keys in the car and drive to their facility, they would purchase the car from me for the same price in cash. I asked them about removing the license plates, since I was not prepared for this and had no tools, but they insisted they would remove the plates for me and turn them in to motor vehicle the next day. I made the transaction and got a dated receipt. I called later that night to ensure the car was picked up - they had it and were happy with it - said they would turn in the plates the next day and mail me the DMV receipt. THEY DIDN'T. I called them 4 times over the next month and was repeatedly told that they were very busy but would turn in my plates ASAP. I don't know if my license plates were put on some other car to commit crimes or they were sitting on a desk, but I had to keep paying insurance on a car I didn't have because without the "plates destroyed" receipt from DMV I could not cancel insurance. During my last call I explained to the receptionist Tina that I was very upset about paying this extra insurance and I wanted my receipt. She assured me she would send a letter for my insurance company to show the car was sold a month prior to the plates being turned in, and that this would relieve me of paying the extra bill. She then sent the DMV receipt without the letter. I called AGAIN to remind her and she emailed the letter. My insurance says she was incorrect and the letter is useless. I have to pay for a month of insurance for a car I did not own while MOREY'S TOWING had my plates and could have put them on a stolen vehicle during that time for all I know. I had tried to be diligent, making an appointment with them for my tow the night before pickup and I still got screwed. UNTRUSTWORTHY AND UNRELIABLE. read more

Not reliable, not 24 hour assistance, doesn't even have a voicemail set up. Contracted through Agero for roadside assistance which is what USAA uses for their roadside assistance. Called for roadside assistance at 1130 PM, was given a 2 hour window to expect someone from Morey's to show up. Let me preface this next part by saying my car was literally .6 miles...that's right, point 6 miles from Morey's physical shop address and 2 1/2 hours later, now 2-215 am, they have still not arrived. After USAA calling and me personally calling to find out why they haven't shown up, nobody answered and no voicemail set up. Needless to say I had to call CNY Towing and at 3am they arrived and got me in my car within 15 minutes of me calling them. Don't waste your time even calling Morey's, they don't take phone calls or perform services. read more

Called my Roadside Assistance for a some Lock out call. They quoted us 30 minutes. After 40 i called Morey directly and all i got from the operator was your tow truck is coming, didn't ask for my name or anything. another 20 minutes went by and i called again. Hung up on me the first call, forwarded my number to voicemail the second. then answered and hung up again on the 3rd try. Truck finally came and technician was not friendly. Terrible experience and we were waiting outside with a baby. Would recommend any other towing company. read more

Generally when you need a tow it's not because your having an enjoyable experience. Morey towing can help make that situation better. Their trucks are spotless, inside and out. Their dispatchers are warm caring individuals. The drivers are respectful, caring and most importantly careful with your car, not causing further damage while recovering your vehicle. Morey's Towing was called by my insurance company and agreed to come jump my car. After waiting 20 minutes of the 45 minute quoted time they called my insurance company (not even me directly- and yes they had my number) to say they aren't able to come. I was left in the cold without warning. They really should have been upfront if they couldn't do the job and not let me waste the first 20 minute in the cold. What the owner tells you it will cost is not what it will cost. They are in the business of highway robberies, not towing. For example, our truck broke down a whole ONE mile away from their yard. UNO. ONE. MILE. The owner said it would cost $250 to tow to their yard and no storage fees, we could pick up next day since it was evening. We agreed. Truck was towed. Next day, our driver called to get the exact address to pick up the truck. He called at 4pm. Nobody got back to him until almost 5. When the driver arrived at their location a couple minutes BEFORE 5, he was told the tow bill was $350 (not 250), then an extra $50 for cleaning up the oil that was spilled, then an extra $200 to "release" the truck. Release? They don't have a right to hold it in the first place! Our driver went ballistic. Called the cops and everything. Because they knew we would be picking up the truck today and purposely dragged time to try and say it was after hours so it costs more. Ended up paying $459 just so we can get the truck and deliver the load on time. If we didn't have a load on our back, the driver would have stayed until the following day and fought to make sure it was the $250 that was originally agreed. So yes. One mile tow = 459. You're better off calling a bigger company right off the bat, at least they are just employees and stick to set rates instead of being the owners and just raping their customers. read more
