My husband and I visited for the first time this afternoon, 5pm on a Sunday. We got sat quickly. We ordered the Shrimp Cargot to start with. The flavors were amazing, however, the shrimp seemed hard. It was weird because I'm not sure I've ever had shrimp hard. I ordered the the Country Fried Steak. It came with corn and mashed potatoes, but they were offering their green beans with bacon for no up charge, so I got the green beans. The country fry was pretty tender, it had the perfect breading on it, not too thick. The gravy was good and actually had some flavor. The mashed potatoes were amazing. Very country with skins and chucks. My husband had the 12oz Ribeye with a Cesar salad and the green beans. He said his steak was cooked perfect, medium rare. His birthday is tomorrow, and I made mention of it to our waitress. She gave him a free ice cream Sunday. The atmosphere was really nice. We stopped in Kansas to visit some family while on a roadtrip and they took us to eat here and to celebrate our son's birthday! We loved the ambiance, it was quiet and the booths felt private. When they first seat you they bring out some sweet bread and it was amazing! Not too sweet but very soft and chewy! I ordered the M Paloma and it was delicious! It was sweet but also very strong! I ordered the 12oz filet and I was a little disappointed with the cut and cook of the meat! First it was cut in half and appeared to have been cooked like a flat steak but then folded over into 1? It was very confusing, you can tell in the picture where it's cut in half and it was also cooked in that part, it reminded me of a burger patty not a steak. Didn't appear to be a true filet. I also asked for it to be cooked medium rare and it was over cooked, couldn't see much of any pink. But the side mashed potatoes and carrots were amazing! I devoured them! The carrots were cooked perfectly and tender! Our son ordered the kids steak bites and asked for medium rare as well and his was over cooked to well done. He had a hard time chewing the steak and ended up eating more off dad's plate. My partner ordered the ribeye and it was perfect! Cooked perfectly to medium rare and was so tender and juicy! I had a few bites of his and would definitely order the ribeye next time! For our son's birthday they did bring out a sundae with a candle, that was so sweet! It's wildly mediocre! I would prefer Texas Roadhouse We got the ribeye, deviled eggs, and the steak/enchiladas combo. It's giving red rock prices but Applebees quality. Tried a new place yesterday afternoon in Derby. Really nice atmosphere and friendly welcoming staff. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and they served us some nice warm buns and sweet butter. Ordered the Boom-Boom Shrimp starter and it was pretty delicious! Bartender Katie was very knowledgeable about the menu so we decided to try the Chicken Fried Steak meal! Glad we did, it was huge and plenty for two, very good as well. Also, got to watch TEAM USA beat the Aussies while we were there-- Bonus!! Friendly hosts at the entry seated quickly. They take call ahead seating and reservations. Clean welcoming restaurant, open kitchen. A little noisy. Helpful and knowledgeable waitstaff. Very reasonable early bird menu with a nice variety of selections. Full menu is reasonable as well with wide selection. Hand breaded chicken fried steak, definitely recommend and sliced tenderloin a great recommendation as well. The shrimp cargot app. was very good, and my filet was cooked to the correct temperature, but unfortunately it was quite chewy and lacked tenderness. The mac and cheese side dish lacked seasoning and the portion size was smaller than expected. The glazed carrots could have benefited from more char and, while they were good, they didn't quite stand out. In contrast, the mashed potatoes were exceptional and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The steaks were cooked to perfection and were absolutely delicious. The drinks were also excellent. For steak add-ons, the sautéed mushrooms were flavorful and generously portioned. The grilled shrimp offered good value, though it was noticeable they were frozen, and the taste was just average. I had high expectations for this place but it's nothing special. The atmosphere is better then Texas Roadhouse / Texas longhorns but everything else is subpar. The food is expensive and you only get the first 5 rolls free. I order the strip steak, nothing special at all. My girlfriend order the 6oz fillet mignon........ it looked like it was ran over by a tractor multiple times. I'm surprised it was even brought to our table in the first place. I'm no butcher but it definitely didn't look like the correct cut. Very grisly and tough. All the other food that complimented our steaks was fine, but you missed the punch line by a long shot. Service is really good and comes with rolls that are comparable to Texas Roadhouse mainly with its butter which is really good. Also the sirloin is prob the most tender I've ever had so really everything was good but the rolls and steak were the best for me. read more

We went for an early dinner and have to say was very disappointed. The rolls, well if you do not like the honey butter and ask for regular butter they will charge you 1.79, no-one said anything about the up charge for butter, really for butter. Was told if I was subbing regular butter for the honey butter that was different they would take it off. I am just blown away that they charge for butter. I found this out because it was in my bill. So be aware if you want extra butter they will charge you for it. First they let you know up front if you want more rolls they will charge you 5.99 for them. For us that was not a problem because the rolls were very doughy and had an after taste. We didn't even eat the free ones. My mom's steak had to be sent back three times. She ordered med-well and it came out bloody. The third try was still under cooked but she gave up and said it was fine. Mine was ordered med and it was cooked rare. I didn't say anything because I can eat it either way and was hungry. So to compare it to their competition Longhorn,Texas Roadhouse there are clear winners here and it's not Morgan's. Their competition does not charge for butter, extra rolls or bread or even extra dressing if you want it, I'm guessing Morgan's would probably charge for extra dressing. I wonder if Morgans charges for condiments, as well. One other thing, there is a convenience fee if you are using a card so if you don't want charged for that as well, bring cash. I had high hopes for this place and was looking forward to trying it out. We will not be back. read more

Unfortunately, they've patterned the facility so closely with Red Rock Canyon Grill that the direct comparison brings Morgan's up short. The layout and finishes of the restaurant are about 90% RRCG including cacti, Remington statues in the front corners, open kitchen in the back with open pantry shelving, front center bar... etc. The menu is a ripoff of RRCG including shrimp-cargot, deviled eggs, enchiladas. I had enchiladas, subbing out the rice for mashed potatoes because I was curious if they would be like RRCG. Yep, that seems to be the goal. The enchiladas are chicken, covered with tomatillo salsa... just like RRCG but not as good. The mashed potatoes were very good, but again just another attempt to copy RRCG. My husband order the 12 oz Ribeye, ordered Medium Rare. It was tough and overcooked. My son's cheeseburger looked okay. So what else is RRCG known for? Service. Clearly, Morgan's is emulating the service model of RRCG but not really there yet. Rome wasn't built in a day and eventually Morgan's may get there but for my money, I will drive on north to RRCG. I don't appreciate that Morgan's has tried so hard to knock off a favorite restaurant. Apparently Morgan's will be offering brunch in 2026 with some RedRock favorites (Meatloat and chicken pot pie).
