I had reservations for 7pm. It's 7:30 and still not seated. The building is hot. The thermostat says it's 81 degrees in the waiting area. While the thermostat is set at 69 degrees. The floor is extremely sticky and food everywhere. The weeds out front are overgrown. For some reason there is a hose running from the outside spigot to up on the roof. They were even receiving a food shipment from the back of a SUV. Seems kind of shady. They said they can't serve alcohol, but you can bring your own. Can we say we either lost or failed to renew their liquor license. So why do they still have bottles of liquor behind the counter on shelves. This didn't bother me as we don't drink. Health Dept might want to check this place out. The attached photo is the current room temperature in the dining area.

The entertainment was better than sumo and Kobe's!

AMAZING!!!! The chef was so entertaining!!! We had such a great time and had us laughing the entire show. The food was delicious. Our steaks were cooked to perfection!!! There was a slight wait but not as long as Sumo or Kobe. We will 100% return! So glad we found this place. Side note: the outside looks low quality but don't let it fool you!

Love this place!! The food is cooked to perfection, the staff is incredible, and the portion sizes are huge! Exactly the same if not better than Kobe's! Definitely better than Sumos though. I recommend getting a reservation before your arrival.

Salmon, shrimp, scallops, calamari, veggies and fried rice.

Give these folks a try. I have had a better experience here than at the alternative on the west side. Old Tokyo Steakhouse has done really tasty food. Service is pretty good and plenty fast and attentive, especially when busy. We've eaten there on 7 occasions and have yet to be disappointed. I've tried everything but the lobster. My favorite has to be a combination of the chicken, shrimp and scallops. We will continue going there and dragging friends and family along as often as we can. Also, the fried rice, pretty dang good, plenty of flavor.

Took over an hour to seat lots of people and left kids waiting and let others in even though they came later. Will never come again!

I had my birthday dinner with my family and the food and service was amazing. I wish they allowed split plates because you get a lot a food.

I went for my Birthday. The fried rice was the best part, and our cook was very nice and funny.

Kobe and Sumo's were full so we rolled the dice at Old Tokyo.

I'm a regular at this restaurant because the food is consistently delicious and the service is…read moregreat--but tonight, I left disappointed enough to write this review. We came in as a party of five at 8:30pm, fully aware they close at 9. We ordered quickly and respectfully, excited to enjoy one of my favorite dishes: the chicken katsu. I've raved about it to friends, especially the generous portions--normally two large, pounded-out chicken breasts per order. But tonight was a different story. We ordered a bibimbap, 10 wings, a roll, gyoza, a child's katsu, tempura and two chicken katsu meals (close to $20 each). For our katsus instead of full portions, it was obvious the kitchen split one order between both plates--then handed the scraps to the child's meal, which we were told would be "half" an adult size. It wasn't even close. Not only was the portion insulting, but the food wasn't fresh. The chicken was dry, overcooked, and hard as a rock. I couldn't even bite through one piece--I had to spit it out. When we brought it up, they offered 10% off. Honestly, that felt like a slap in the face. I had just convinced people to come here based on how good this meal used to be, and instead I ended up apologizing to my guests for bringing them here and still paid for meals we weren't fully served. If you were low on chicken, in a rush to close, or just had a lazy cook that night--own it. Don't try to pass off a single meal as two. That's not just disappointing--it's dishonest. This experience was a joke. And if that's how regulars get treated, I will regular no more.

Food:Everything had good flavor but the polish was a little off. The appetizers were difficult to…read moreeat without spoons (which were not provided and I felt weird asking for one so I ended up recycling my husband's spoon from his soup). The sushi was wrapped really loosely and fell apart while I picked it up with chopsticks. My husband's beef teriyaki was good and he had no qualms on the flavor but again presentation was a little messy. Service was good. They refilled our waters and soda without issue. The food came out sporadically and was not sent out together, which left my husband waiting to eat while my food got cold (crispy rice) and then warm (sushi), respectively. Ambiance was dark and moody. Like hard to see dark; there was not enough light from the tiny candle on the table to make up for it. I get the vibe but I would opt for more light overall. The decorations on the walls were tasteful. The overhead lighting felt like they raided the outdoor patio light section of Lowe's when it was clearance in the seasonal garden section. The Tiber on the walls was nice but again felt a bit DIY. My biggest issue was with the tableware. I understand that disposable chopsticks are easier than reusable ones but honestly it would have elevated the meal a lot for me. I know it's picky but for the vibe and location it seems like it would have been an easy add.

A lot larger than I expected--could definitely accommodate larger parties. Very slow for a Sat afternoon.

They said set anywhere and I did well apparently the table was not clean so I cleaned it.she came back and was rude and I said you are really rude and she said well your rude for seating at a dirty table and it's like ok so you can be rude but I have to just take it?? I said you really suck as a waitress and she said I don't care and fine we are leaving and she said good. If I was the owner I would fire her she is awful and just cost you money. Never eat at Wasabi on Maize! It's been a good year since I was there, the foods not great but My grand daughter likes the gyoza So we went this is our experience verbatim We walk in, just pick a seat anywhere We went in but it was super cold so we sat at a table that all she needed to do was wipe it down so since the rag was there I wiped it down, someone else came in after us and she served them first, ok no big deal then she comes over and this is our conversation Her ( waitress ) you need to move so I can wipe down the table Me : I already did it Her: ( eye roll ) whatever Me: Wow your very rude Her: no your rude for sitting down before I wiped the table Me : what is your problem He: I Dont have a problem you do Me: well apparently you don't care for a good tip Her : I don't care, no Me : well I guess we will go somewhere else Her :good As we were leaving I did call her a b**ch she said right back at ya Lol lesson to this story I should not have reacted to her rudeness just asked for a manager but knowing my luck she was the manager. I should have held my tongue ate the food left a small tip and wrote on the receipt so the manager could read it. I should have been not let that little sh*t rile me. But I saw for myself exactly how the far left are not just read about it. She felt it was ok for her to be rude but god forbid I call her on it and react to her rudeness then as soon as you react she than can say, well see she's rude too. Arguing with someone like that was like talking to a brick wall. I have been a waitress, I have owned my own restaurant and bar, there are right ways and wrong ways to act and if she worked for me and I over heard our conversation she would have been fired on the spot. The silly thing is it was over something so small but when she rolled her eyes at me and said whatever my mama tude took over. Was I wrong? I could have handled it better for sure, I could have done a WWJD and made it a learning experience for Izzy but dang it I ruined that, I feel bad but.....
