He stated that he would fix the car and have it painted. After calling him at least 12 times the car was returned to me in the beginning of June covered in bird poop and filthy inside with a spray paint job from a can. After the equinox was examined by the Genesis Chevy dealership, they gave me a diagnostic with all of the issues wrong which is posted in review . At this point, my posts about the terrible service are affecting Kouder's business ,so he called me today and threatened to come by my house and hurt me if I don't stop. Please don't deal with this dishonest man, as now I have to file a police report and sue him.

An elderly lady took her vehicle to Gordie's for a simple headlight bulb replacement and ended up with a broken head light assembly that now leaks water when it rains. Gordie's refuses to rectify the problem and to add insult to injury provided a lengthy fabricated list of unneeded repairs that would add up to thousands of dollars of unnecessary work. Fortunately this senior lady had the wherewithal to refuse additional business with Gordie's and instead took her vehicle to another auto repair shop that took care of her ethically and honestly. It was close to where he lives and the reviews were good, although there were only two reviews at the time. Even though I didn't deal directly with them, I'm still able to write a review based on what transpired due to the fact that with our advice and guidance through a difficult repair, he was in close touch with us through the early processes of dropping it off for a quote. This was also the second facility he took his car to for an estimate so we knew what to expect from the first quote process and had the ballpark figure in mind as to how much it could/would be. After explaining one of the problems, they advised him there would be a charge to drive it around so they could make a better diagnosis. The first place he took it to didn't drive it around. They put it up on the hoist and could see what the problem was. The other issue was an electrical one and they told him there'd be a fee to check it out because of the time process involved in trouble shooting electrical problems. They didn't mention to him whether the fees would be subtracted from his total bill, nor did he ask. That's up to the repair facility to clearly inform the customer one way or the other whether the fee is subtracted at the end if the customer chooses to get the repair done at their facility. Needless to say, since they weren't clear on whether these were subtracted, we decided to have him try a third facility for another quote. The third facility is where the repair will be done because the fee for troubleshooting was explained clearly that if the car was repaired there, the fee would be deducted from the final bill. It was made clear and was understood without any further questions. The cost came in much lower than the first place he took it to, so this is how it was decided to go with that facility instead. I'm only rating this based on the process of wanting to have the car looked at and what the outcome of that first interaction was. Maybe other places charge fees to drive a car around, but we've had plenty of cars repaired in the past and were never told of this type of fee nor were we charged for that. So it caught me by surprise when my son called us with this information. Based on the two other excellent reviews from actual repairs and for clarification purposes, it sounds like they're a trusted place and have good prices and satisfied customers that would recommend them to others, but we didn't like what we heard in the beginning and decided to try another automotive repair facility. But that's why we have choices and that's why places offer quotes so the consumer can make an educated decision based on what they are told and can decide if the repair facility is a good fit and is a place they want their car fixed at.

When I come into contact with people and organizations that should receive high praise for going above and beyond the norm, I sing their praise to everyone I can. I drive a Mini Cooper, and anyone who knows about Mini's has come to the realization that getting your timing chain replaced is not a matter of if, but when. Most Mini's from 2007-2010 get their timing chain replaced for free due to a manufactures recall--not mine. Turns out my model was excluded for whatever the reason. I didn't even bother shopping prices. I KNEW with certainty that Alex and Pat would provide me with the best price, and fairest assessment when it came to replacing my timing chain. Per usual he even went ahead and provided me with extras that most dealerships and automotive facilities would have otherwise charged me for. For all the fellow Mini motor-ers out there. Don't be tricked into thinking that the only people who can fix Mini's are "Authorized Mini Specialists." That is complete BS that Mini wants you to buy--literally. Next time, take your Mini to Alex's. This dude went out and purchased the special timing tool required to fix my timing chain, and I know those 'authorized Mini Cooper' timing chain tools are not cheap. So, if your timing chain is not covered under manufactures warranty, or you need to get something repaired on your Mini, or even if it's just an oil change (which costs over $100 at any Mini Cooper dealership) take your Mini to Alex and Pat at Alex's Automotive. He will set you up proper.
