I've been coming to Napoleon/Valero for about two years after having met (quite possibly) the greatest mechanic in Michigan: Ali F. My lil Volkswagon can be ficle, 'Zah Germanz' designed it in a way to where she want wants a specific type of coolant, there's a very well documented design fault that creates engine sludge due to a shallow oil pan. Some of these problems have literally destroyed other owner's cars. Most recently I had an oil leak and front axel problems (damn MI roads). I bought the parts and brought them in with me (big ups to BlauHaus & All European) and Ali did all of my cam seals, full timing belts service, replaced both front drive axels, spark plugs and flushed the coolant in one afternoon. After settiling my tab, 'Mi Gyal' was rolling down Schoener back towards 696 pulling in the lower bands like she was fresh off the dealer floor. On the highway it was unbeliveable the amount of power that had been restored after such a rough January . If you have an issue I would not hesitate to give him a call guy is honest. Over the years I've met customers of his from up North who delay their service untill they come down this way. I've given his number to numerous friends who were getting crappy service @ larger businesses, no complaints and all were very pleased with the quality of work. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND ALI! P.S. On the subject of dealers: Suburban VW of Troy did a great job of assesing the issues/creating my shopping list and replacing the ignition coils (all for free) BUT they were crzy with that $2,100.00 quote... DONT GO HERE! They just want your money, paid to have my entire radiator replaced for $500, my car started overheating 2 months later. Btw my car was running fine and then all the sudden it started overheating. I take it back get it back "fixed" for another $640 supposedly a bunch was wrong. it starts stalling and making a clicking noise, I bring it back they said I apparently have had water in my motor... called other mechanic shops, asked friends, brothers, everyone says the same. The noises would've been there prior if water was in there. Thanks for "fixing" my car. Every time u bring it back here, they fuck it more till you have to replace everything read more

These guys know what they're doing when it comes to cars. I've been coming here for about a year now, they are always honest about the issues and how much it costs to fix them. They will even let you know if it's cheaper to buy parts yourself and they're happy to have you drop off the parts and just charge for the labor. These guys are by far the worst mechanics I have ever been to. These guys cannot even change brakes properly. My wife had taken her car there and two days later her car was making all sorts of noises and started shaking on the highway. She took it to another mechanic and they said the brakes were not installed correctly and it was overheating, so we had to pay the other mechanic just to install them properly. After the re-installation we had no more problems. We went back to Napoleon to try and get a refund and they refused to take responsibility for any wrongdoing. Took my car in to get brakes and roaters done. It was done by Scott. The next day my car was vibrating and making really loud noises. I took it back to Ahmad, he test drove it and lifted my car up and said, "every one in a million car's bearing will be gone after you lift the car up, we can replace it for you, it will be $230". It made no sense. I took the car to another shop and the mechanic lubricated the caliper pins; balanced the wheels and reinstalled the whole brakes and roaters. After that the shaking was gone. We called the owner back and went back to shop to talk to Ahmad and he denied saying that he knows how to do his job and you can't install the breaks wrong. So then why was my car making noises. Don't waste your time going here, it's a waste of money and very unprofessional. Go somewhere else. If I had the option to not have give him no stars, i would have. This place is rip off and they don't care. read more

The mechanic shop is amazing. The other reviews about them being honest and straight forward with you are all true. If you have something wrong that they don't work with like electrical, they will let you know and not charge you like someone else did to me last year charged me 20 bucks just to use the hoist. They checked my fluids at no charge and I was on my way. Then this past week they quoted me over 400 less on my tune up and brakes than the dealer which is obvious dealers always overcharge but at least I know I can do it for cheaper here and have just as good of a job done. They are very honest and told me what I should wait on to have done because after market parts are never like their originals. Also, for the inside where you go to fill up gas and buy candy, they are so nice and funny. They talk to their customers and actually appreciate our business to them which I find nice since you don't see that anymore. The gas lasts! I put gas from them and I noticed it always lasts me on average an extra 30-40 miles during the week. That ends up saving me so much over the year.
