The restaurant changes personalities depending on the time: early in the day it's "Morning Shift" and serves breakfast. In the evenings they light up and switch their sign to "Late Shift" and serve mostly pizza and wings. Since I was there at night, I got the 10 inch Carnivore pizza which had lots of chunks of meat on it. The sauce was good with a tang. And the crust was the thick variety but soft with a nice chew. The flavors were good and it was freshly cooked and I enjoyed it. The seating includes tables of various sizes including long large tables for a group. This was one of the most disappointing breakfast experiences I've ever had. If you want to pay $20 to eat cafeteria food, this is the place for you. The eggs were cold and chunky like they were scooped out of a bin and I've had better potatoes frozen from Trader Joe's. The bacon had the texture and grease of a free breakfast buffet at a hotel and the lady at the counter openly lied to me when I asked if the orange juice was fresh squeezed. She said yes but when I got it, it was obvious that it was from a carton. Overall, we hardly ate our food and ended up going to Chick-fil-A afterwards. Waste of money and waste of calories! Everyone was very friendly and I was explained the process of ordering at the counter as soon as I opened the door to the restaurant. I ordered the French toast breakfast with scrambled eggs and cheese, and bacon. The French toast was really good! They give you three very large pieces of French toast. Thoroughly enjoyed! The scrambled eggs and cheese were actually pretty good. Could've used a little salt, but otherwise very good. And the bacon comes with two thin strips, not cooked too hard, but good. I ordered my toddler, the kids meal with eggs, bacon, fruit, toast, and apple juice. My daughter enjoyed the fruit and the eggs. Really good portion for the price of the kids meal. I also ordered a vanilla latte. It was really good and only about five dollars. The food came out really quick. There was an employee who checked on us several times to make sure that we didn't need anything else. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back! read more

We decided to skip our normal breakfast place to try Morning Shift. We went in a Saturday around 10am and it wasn't busy. The restaurant is a good size, very well lit and clean. We were greeted at the door and were told we could order at the counter and then take a seat or sit first while we decided what we wanted. I ordered the GF banana pancakes with eggs and chicken sausage, my husband ordered the chorizo biscuits and gravy with eggs. We also got orange juice and a coffee. We sat at a 2 seater high top. There is chatter in the restaurant but it's not loud at all. One of the staff workers brought over silverware after we sat and shortly after our juce came out. There is a sink outside of the restrooms which is really convenient and thoughtful for you to wash your hands if you don't need to use the restroom. Our food came out and it presented very well but everything was cold. I thought it was tasty but it was cold. I don't know if I would go back, if I do o would definitely say something about the food temperature. I normally don't like a lot of stuff on my pancakes but the bananas, strawberries with compote and granola weren't to overpowering. But the fruit was cold which didn't help the already cold pancakes. We spent about $45 for the both of us, definitely too much to not be satisfied. read more

We went for Mother's Day brunch (which was just a few minutes ago), expecting long waits and chaos, but somehow this place ran more smoothly than Chick-fil-A on a Monday morning. The service was unbelievably efficient -- every table was moving, food came out quickly, and the staff never looked overwhelmed despite the packed crowd. You could tell there was real leadership and organization behind everything. What made the experience even better was meeting the owner's mom and sister. They were both incredibly sweet, warm, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell the family atmosphere trickles down through the entire restaurant because everyone treats guests with kindness and care, rather than making you feel rushed. GREAT JOB MOM! The food was amazing, the energy was great, and the hospitality honestly stood out the most. Definitely one of the best Mother's Day brunch experiences we've had. read more

I'll start with we came on a busy Saturday morning. The restaurant is cute and has modern decor. You order at the counter and the hosts will hold a seat for you if you ask. They do bring you the food and check to see if you need anything else. The restaurant is very loud between people and the open kitchen noise. The food was ok. I would say average. I tried the gluten free banana pancakes and they were pretty good. I'm used to the texture of gf bread. They add banana, strawberry and granola on top which helps with that gf taste (iykyk) It's quite pricey.. $34 for a meal and 2 coffees. Add on the tip that you pay before you even get served and we were in for a $40 average breakfast. This is becoming quite the norm for many places. A "comfy-chic" local spot with a local owner who grew up down the street, serving up a wide variety of truly fresh and delicious offerings, with sincerely friendly staff and great service. Food - Excellent challah French toast! 4 slices per order, with cinnamon butter and maple syrup included. The bread had a very nice thin crispy crust that is lightly caramelized, with a pillowy inside which is not too light. Moist but not soggy French toast. Simple yet satisfying. I also got a side of eggs, cooked over medium, which was nicely salted without being rubbery or runny in the whites. The yolk was more runny than I liked (I wanted a custardy yolk), but this is probably my fault, as I did not specify exactly what I meant by "over medium", and this is how most people make "over medium". Average/reasonable pricing for the qualify of food served - see photo of menu. Ambience - It was a nice spacious dining area and overall seemed clean. For a new place, not on the main road, at 8am (weekday) when most people are in the office, this place was quiet as expected. The lighting was relaxing and inviting. Had it not been for work, I would have loved to dine in and enjoyed the ambience. Service - While checking out the menu on the window, deciding whether I should go in, a friendly staff who was arriving for her shift said "you should come in, the food is very fresh!" That convinced me. The chef took my order so I didn't have to wait and someone else rang me up when they were ready. In the meantime, the chef (who may also be the owner, judging by the story on the website) also offered me free large cup of coffee while I waited. So generous and considerate. Little gestures like this is what makes people feel valued and would make me choose this place over places like Panera or Marlow's Tavern any day! We were just looking for breakfast places that would offer a variety of vegan options in addition to a variety of unique omnivore options. Morning Shift does a fantastic job of checking both of those boxes. It was about 10:00 when we arrived on Sunday & the atmosphere was very calm: soft music playing in the background, & a kind & attentive staff. I was there mid morning last Sunday. I quickly realized why this is a happy busy little place. First met by the extroverted greeter/host followed by a very pleasant cashier. The bacon was dry and a little dark but the flavor was nice. The French toast had a nice texture but was a bit bland for me... maybe that's why they add fruity pebbles. I stumbled across Morning Shift by accident when I was looking for a place to meet some girlfriends for brunch. We ended up dining somewhere else, but I was intrigued so I grabbed some take away this morning to enjoy at home. MS is in a shopping center. There were not many parking spots left, but I was able to park without issue. The restaurant itself was pretty empty. Understandably so since they just opened. I placed my order online via toast and when I arrived it was not quite ready. I was offered a coffee while I waited which was very, very sweet. Service and staff were 5/5! The inside was bright with high ceilings. Plenty of seating, too. We tried the following: Fruity Pebbles French Toast ($8) Sasquatch Burrito ($15) Carnitas Burrito ($14) Shrimp & Grits ($19) Side of Grits ($5) Chia Pudding ($10) The carnitas burrito was the star of the show for everyone! It was spicy and full of flavor. The avocado and pickled onions (served on the side) were a fantastic addition. I just wish there were more than 2 tiny slivers of onion. Had I only ordered this item my review would have been a 5/5! Seeing the fruity pebbles french toast on the menu made the child in me jump for joy. Overall, it tasted good, but was far from perfect. The french toast was not soaked enough so it was just bread with fruity pebbles adhered to it. I had maybe one bite that had enough of the custard, otherwise the rest was really dry. I also think putting the cinnamon butter on the french toast for a take out order is a miss. It obviously melted and was not very pleasing to look at when opening the container. I think popping the cinnamon butter in a ramekin for take out orders would be much better! The sasquatch burrito I didn't receive, so I'm not sure what I was eating. There was no steak or chorizo, just regular sausage. I don't like regular sausage so I was super disappointed about this - as the primary reason I was drawn to MS was this steak burrito. I am not sure if the menu on their website is wrong or if they prepared it incorrectly. Perhaps adding the description to toast would also be a solution for any menu discrepancies. The shrimp and grits dish was a hard no. I really really regret this one. The grits were completely lost in an ocean of cream. The shrimp were overcooked and the sauce - which the dish was drowning in - was so off putting. Completely lacked seasoning of any sort and tasted only of cream. It was served with two halves of garlic toast which they placed in the container so they were - you guessed it - soaked in cream. If only the french toast had the same sort of treatment.. The side of grits were underwhelming and were not seasoned. Adding salt made them edible, but nothing to write home about. The container was also barely half full which was annoying for $5. The chia seed pudding is actually a parfait with fruit sauce and granola on top. The "pudding" was not the right consistency and should be a much more loose than it was. It was also pretty sad for $10 as it was in a cup and more than half was fruit sauce and granola. I would definitely skip this one, too. MS just opened a week ago so there are still some kinks to iron out. We will likely try them again at some point, but I'll probably just stick with the carnitas burrito which was amazing! I'm only giving this place a three out of five because I believe the staff had an off day, struggling to keep up with everyone in the restaurant and the constant stream of DoorDash orders. My family came for brunch on New Year's Day. The place was super clean and cozy. Loved the decor and how spaced out the tables were, giving everyone elbow room. We ordered quickly and found a seat quickly. The service was a toss up. It took a while to get our food. When we got it, one was the wrong order and another was cold. The avocado slices that came with the plant based plate were hard, the fruity pebbles French toast was cold the first time and undercooked the second.
