My hubs asking for the code for the bathroom
Veronica P.

Tourist Trap, however food was good. I wouldn't call it as an "award winner" which I'm sure it won an award, but i've had chicken sandwiches and this was no different, like popeye's, chik fil A, etc... It was basic breaded chicken with a thinly sprinkled layer of cabbage (they called it a slaw) and 4 teeny tiny pickles served with either hand cut fries, like in n out but thicker $14...flavor was good i have to admit. Hubby got a salad with grilled chicken. My SIL got the hot chicken she said it was just ok. The place was small and you belly up to the counter to order and they give you a number and they bring you the food. This place is local and I like to support local business. BUT, charging $2 for bottled water, cuz they don't offer filtered tap water is just kinda wrong. And put me in a mood and side eyeing the soda dispenser. So, I cant recommended but for the price we paid, I think I would have gone to a real, sit down, full service, and bottomless refills on drinks. Even Denny's or other local diners will give you a basket of teas with unlimited hot water I didn't ask, but i'm sure they'll give you unlimited hot water for your tea. I shouldve asked for hot water and poured it over ice. I really felt the Allegiant airlines vibe in this place. PRos--good lunch chicken, great tasting fried apples not as mushy as cracker barrel Cons-- overpriced, no courtesy water

Stopped by for lunch and got their fried chicken and french toast and their fried chicken sandwich. Both meals were around $16 each. Overall, the chicken breading was thin and unseasoned for both dishes. The fried chicken and french toast: The batter of the chicken is not super crispy or thick. It's the thinner kind and we felt our fried chicken was underseasoned (maybe so that people can add their sauce/salt to preference). Mine came with syrup and apples, so I thought they underseasoned the chicken on purpose to compliment that at first but the sandwich chicken was the same. The french toast was soft and chewy. The apples were a nice touch, but the meal left more to be desired. The fried chicken sandwiches chicken was also on the plain side though. There wasn't that much cole slaw and it's flavor profile was very simple. It came with fries, which was nice. Overall, we had an okay experience but didn't think there was something flavor or texture wise that really stood out for fried chicken. It wasnt savory or crispy, but rather plain with thin batter. They had some cool soda and drink options that we didnt try. It's an order at the counter and food comes to your table set up. You can grab napkins on your own. Casual spot. Ordering was easy and the workers were nice. The food came out relatively quickly. Maybe 10 minutes. Parked in a lot down the street for $10 for the day.

I picked this place for brunch and didn't realize it was owned by the same people that own base camp at Kennesaw Mountain but I loved this location more! The food was better but I'll admit vibes are better at base camp. It's fast casual which is great and they were super accommodating with our large group which I greatly appreciate. I got a similar meal from base camp so vanilla latte and a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and idk it was just better here! My iced latte was too sweet and the biscuit was delicious. Great spot in the square for some simple and easy breakfast!

Another great meal! Great day to sit outside and enjoy the fall weather. The Nashville Hot Breakfast was excellent and the grits were fantastic. My wife loved the grilled chicken(fais it tasted like fried chicken. Staff was duper friendly!

I got the North Georgia salad with fried Chicken. Delicious the dressing was so good.

We are visiting for Easter holiday and stopped by the Marietta Square for lunch. We enjoyed the lunch with our grandson. The soda fountain had great flavors. Nice atmosphere. We will definitely come back to try something else on the menu.

A local fave in Marietta! You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. It's a small establishment so it's very homy feeling. The food came out super quick and we thought it was very tasty. The kids devoured their Nashville hot chicken. It was big enough to share. They also give you a TON of fries. The Blue Devil Salad was refreshing and hit the spot. I opted for grilled chicken instead of fried. They serve Stubborn sodas- that was a pleasant surprise. FYI- The bathroom is for customers only and you need a code. Parking can be a bit difficult, but we were able to snag spot a couple blocks down. Highly recommend!

I've been on the Marietta square and I've always passed this place but I've never been. Yesterday I was scrolling on TikTok and saw a young lady do a review. I highly recommend The Marietta local. From the moment we walked in the staff was nice and welcoming. When you first come in you can take a look at the menu if it's your first time then you can order when you are ready. After the order is placed they will be ting the food to you. The seating is open. You can choose inside or outside. The place is also lined with local art as well. I had the fried chicken and French toast. It was soooo good. I am definitely eating that again. The French toast was cut to perfection and the chicken was fried to perfection. Everything was literally made to order. The apples were even good. My partner order the breakfast skillet and it was good as well. I even loved the sweet tea. My only thing I wished the biscuit we ordered was a little more warm. Over all I highly recommend. The parking is free in the square. We did not have an issue because we went early on Sunday.

The service was prompt and friendly. I was greeted immediately and given some suggestions on what to order ( the fried chicken is delightful!) I also ordered a latte that was made to perfection. I don't live in Marietta, but this gem is worth the drive.

A cute and casual breakfast spot tucked in the Marietta Square. Order up at the counter and can find seating easily inside or outside! This breakfast spot is perfect for a casual brunch/lunch outing with plenty of sweet and savory options. The friend chicken biscuit was delicious - the chicken was perfectly crispy and tender and paired well with the soft biscuit that melted in my mouth. The French toast and fried chicken was a fun take on sweet& salty for breakfast, but I wish there was a more fun/seasonal fruit on top. Will be coming back for the biscuits!

We came here with a few friends and the staff were super friendly up on arrival trying to find us a place to sit. They were hesitant to combine tables for our party of 4 but luckily someone gave up their 4 seater and moved to a 2 seater so we could fit there The restaurant isn't very big but is family friendly & had a steady flow of traffic on a weekday brunch It's located in the square so very limited free parking but we were lucky and got a street spot The menu is mainly breakfast items with a few lunch items. Everything was very affordable priced! I got the Nashville hot breakfast and the chicken was good but not spicy at all. The eggs were cooked well and biscuits were tasty but id ask for more gravy next time. The grits were delicious, probably my favorite thing I tried there. They also serve stubborn soda which was part of why we came in because the pineapple flavor is the best one. The food came out quick & nobody rushed us. The drinks / condiments are self serve and the restaurant is counter service but they do deliver to your table

The Local is a wonderful diner in a beautiful old building. The servers are mostly sweet older ladies who'll make you feel like friends. Simply sit where you want, order at the counter, fix your coffee or hot tea by the entrance, and settle in to enjoy a great Southern meal. The chicken and waffles...er, French toast...is delicious! I love their sunrise sampler with bacon and grits (sooo good)! The prices are a little high, but on par with most casual restaurants now. There's a good reason they call it the Local!

Dulce G.

The food was delicious! The service was great and the ambiance was good but loud to hear. It was a weekend so the restaurant was packed.

The staff were really friendly. Everything tasted fresh. The biscuit was sooo warm, buttery, and soft. The pancake bomb. Crisp on the outside but was still fluffy in the middle. The grits had really good flavor and didn't taste bland at all. Really everything on my plate was good. You can tell they actually put effort into the food here, especially the homemade sauces and little details. Portions were a really good size.

I've been hearing a lot of rave about this place, so I figured it was finally time for me to go in…read more I arrived at about 7:40 AM. There was only one other customer at the restaurant. I approached the counter and after a couple minutes, they got me seated. As I'm looking at the menu, she comes over. It tells me I have to move to another table on the other side of the restaurant. So we gathered the items and moved to another table. I'll look over the menu and settled on the steak and egg biscuit. Everybody goes crazy about the biscuits so I felt mandatory to get one and I did not want to do the build drone because I wanted to taste something specifically on the menu so I could really taste what they were working with. Since at the time there was no other customers order and it seemed like it took a rather long time for the order to come up. But that's fine when it came up it was hot and fresh. When you cut into it, it was smoking hot, so it was certainly cooked to order. I take a couple bites of the steak and egg biscuit which also has gravy on it and immediately was caught off guard by how bland it was. I don't know if they forgot to taste the gravy. I don't know if they forgot to season the flour, certainly didn't season the egg. So I sit there and realize the servers outside so I approached the counter and asked for some salt so I can at least halfway season the food and hopefully wake it up. I pick up the steak biscuit after seasoning it take about two bites and go to put it down and take a sip of my drink and my hands are completely covered in grease. I don't know how they make these biscuits but it's almost like they make like a butter swim biscuit or when it comes out the oven, they dip it in a bucket of butter or something because it's just completely soaked with oil. It really doesn't even taste super buttery, but your hands get covered in it. I had already drove an hour and 20 minutes of course I finished the food pay and then leave. But I have to be honest. I can't imagine the experience I got today is the experience that everybody else is raving about. Under seasoned food that's extremely greasy?! I don't think today was their best day. The space is pretty small inside, so I see why the are completely booked all the time I think they have maybe 16-18 seats inside, and then a few picnic tables outside. I'd give it 2.5 but certainly didn't reach 3 stars.

They could have gone heavier on the spices but they give you sauce (tahini and garlic mayo-ish). The bread was amazing too... fresh, fluffy and warm. The food came out super quick. There's plenty of seating - it's a large space with many booths and tables. The decor is lovely. I wish they were playing some Arabic music to round off the experience. There's ample parking in the lot. If you're wondering if the restaurant is Palestinian - it is. I asked the staff lol. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu before I leave Marietta.

When you get your order inside, EVERYTHING is put in a to-go bag and NOTHING is labeled. We had 5 sandwiches in our group and everyone ordered theirs a little differently (some wanted sweet peppers, some wanted spicy peppers, some wanted their bread dry, etc.) There was no way to tell whose sandwich was whose until we completely unwrapped each sandwich - which I don't think you're supposed to do. I ordered mine dry - sorry, I'm not from Chicago and I loathe soggy bread. I finally went back to the counter and just asked for a plain bun and transferred my meat and giardiniera to the new bun. They were very friendly and accommodating with this request. It was a little frustrating because I told the man at the counter when I ordered that I didn't want my sandwich wet at all. NOTE - You will need a LOT of napkins if you get an Italian Beef. Everything tasted great - I even dipped my sandwich in the side cup of au jus a little bit. Would I return? Probably so. I would most likely order separately from the group order to ensure mine is correct OR ask for the bun on the side.
