I have passed by this restaurant so many times in the past, but never had the chance to try it. Having a day off and wanting to explore a little, I decided it was time to try Morningbirds Restaurant in Roswell. Everything about this place speaks to elevated dining, warm ambience, and personalized service. My server Josh was friendly, personable, and attentive. The food was definitely the highlight of the experience. I ordered The Skylark, their eggs Benedict, with a side of cheese grits, and this may rank as one of the top five best eggs Benedict I've had. First, the cheese grits are so savory and flavorful that I might consider returning simply to have more of the cheese grits. The eggs Benedict itself is plated in an artistic manner, and every bite is packed full of delectable details. From the tender Buttermilk Biscuit base, to the thick cut spiral ham, as well as the perfectly poached egg and some of the richest Hollandaise sauce you may ever try, the Skylark eggs Benedict is a true winner. Yes, I would definitely consider returning, and I would highly recommend others try Morningbirds Restaurant in Roswell. Cheers

Our kids and we alternate picking a breakfast place that we haven't gone to or been a while been to. This day our kids picked this place which was a treat because we haven't been here before. Finally getting into Cobb county for something different. This place proved to be a special kind of brunch place with very interesting interior. Kind of a homey kitschy place. Stuff hanging off the ceiling and the walls adorned with garden like items. (See pictures). The food was great. While they emphasized that the do a lot without the preservatives and try to keep organic food on the top of the list. We enjoyed the fare, my SO and I had the Benedict which was good I wish they did not cook the ham so much for it was slightly tough as opposed to tender. And I understand that southern fare is special but leave the darned. English muffin alone don't replace it with biscuits please. Daughter ordered fried catfish with grits which was beautifully presented and tasted great Our son ordered the biscuits and gravy and it was equally tasty as well. The pièce de résistance was the cinnamon rolls. Unbelievably delicious and tender l, served in a cooking vessel with loads of glaze over it. The service was equally appreciative and humble. Server was very on top of things and asked the right questions at the right time (young beautiful African American woman) I didn't catch her name... Well done. The only drawback for our whole experience was the cost of the breakfast. Our four entrees plus the cinnamon rolls and 3 coffees and 1 cappuccino came to over 150 dollars.

We went in to this cute little place to celebrate Valentine's early - and enjoyed it. I ordered the Rainbow bird (I think) - it was a vegan hash bowl with vegetables and my partner got the strawberry shortcake pancake. We both also got hot chocolates. The hot chocolate was really good - I dislike ones that are very milky - this was enjoyable. My vegan hash was good - not great, but not bad. My partner enjoyed his pancake - if you like strawberry shortcake- it was really good. The service was very nice and we felt like we were being attended to, even though it was very busy.

And we're back ! Took my mom group here for valentines brunch and everyone LOVED it. Calamari, oatmeal, chicken and waffles, bacon, eggs, mini waffles, etc. and DRINKS DRINKS DRINKS. service was exceptional as always and thanks to Johnny for giving us a mini photoshoot. The vibes were immaculate of course and I will definitely be taking them back. Also just now discovered they have loyalty points ( I've been missing out on so many rewards lol ) but signed up this last trip.

This restaurant was the perfect place for a fun girls brunch! All the ladies loved what they got including myself. You won't regret the chicken and waffles or catfish for sure. We loved that we could make our own unique mimosas from a list of flavors they had. I went with an origami and then a rose mimosa and will be ordering again. My favorite appetizer was the cinnamon rolls, they came out so hot and fresh and tasted homemade. Everything was so delicious 10/10 and can't wait to go back!

Such a beautiful restaurant with an amazing menu. So many healthy options and fun drinks. Wait staff is a little slow but very friendly.

My fiancé and i went to brunch on a Monday morning. We were excited to try this place on a weekday since we read it's hard to get a reservation on the weekend. It was fantastic. We were shocked with how good the coffee based drinks were. We both got flavored coffee and nothing tasted artificial or fake. The entrees came out promptly and were delicious. We read before going about their commitment to using the best, highest quality ingredients and boy can you taste it. It also makes the price point very much worth it. Our server was very kind and attentive. Not to mention the restaurant is beautiful. We aren't from the area but will definitely make the trip again!

Service...exceptional! Ambiance...super cute! Lets get to the food, shall we? Ordered the Swan Song and it did not disappoint. The gravy was a little thicker than I usually like, but still really good. Came with two sides. Scrambled eggs were solid... but let's talk about the grits. Omg. 100/10. Absolutely phenomenal. I honestly wanted to come back the next day just for a bowl of grits and that delicious lavender mimosa. Also stole a bite of my friend's blueberry waffle and yep... pretty dang good too. Morningbirds is a must!

Beautiful venue! Ample parking. Food was delicious! Service was not the best. We had to wait for our server a while to get our waters refilled. Both times he stopped by our table but didn't bother to refill them until we asked. We will definitely return again and try other things on the menu.

This place earns 5 stars for interior and decor alone. I would really love to know the inspiration behind this place entirely. It was beautiful inside. My friend chose this spot for us so I had no idea what to expect prior. There was no wait once we arrived, which was great. Immediately I noticed there were no drinks anywhere on the menu. It took a while for the server to arrive but he eventually brought us a tablet that contained the drinks. I ordered the omelette and biscuit with turkey sausage, I personally would never order that again. The sausage was dry and flavorless. The omelette was watery and lacked salt. The biscuit however was excellent. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and that was absolutely delicious. It is clear this place has certain specialties. The experience wasn't terrible but needless to say, for the price I paid for that omelette I did not leave very happy.

It was Mother's Day, we had a reservation for 5, however when we showed up it was only 4 of us. We were seated and while being seated, my son called and said he was 3mins away, we asked the hostess if we could be moved or get the empty seat next to us. She told us no to us keeping our original 5 seat reservation and then told us no that we could not get the empty seat next to us bc it was reserved. Reminder, all this took place in under 3mins. My son came in (who is actually an influencer with over 1million followers) and he simply sat down and held my 5year old in his lap since they denied us the original reservation (which was fine) and denied us simply grabbing the empty chair next to us bc "they" said it was reserved) Well while sitting waiting on our food, guess what we watch both hostess do, come grab chairs from the table next to us to accommodate other guests at other tables, my question would be what was the difference with us asking to grab a chair and YOU BOTH taking two chairs to two different booths? As we walked out, neither hostess spoke. very rude... 1. our waiter Johnathan was very attentive and amazing - he tried to make things right by giving us an extra chair 2. the food was a 8 out of 10 3. customer service from the hostess : 0

My family and l were visiting Atlanta for a family outing we visited this restaurant for lunch before starting our daily activities the vibes there match the quality of food served, very fresh and appealing we were very satisfied with the overall experience there.

This is a great place for casual dining or a brunch date. The food was excellent. It is a touch sweet, but very good none the less. My server was Kiasi. She was very pleasant, assisted with my selection and made sure everything came out correct and tasteful. I'd definitely dine here again if I'm in the area.

I finally got to attend this place and always wanted to try it since I moved to the Atlanta area…read more I've heard nothing but great things about it. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. It's a beautiful restaurant inside meaning it's good for a date, a night out with friends or family, or a great place to celebrate for a prom or graduation. It's more upscale than a traditional restaurant however I loved it! I came here with my business coach since I won a competition and the prize was to have lunch at the place of my choice. She ordered the soup of the day, which was like this cheddar soup that came with these two sauces, which one of the sauces was a jalapeño based sauce, which was spicy, but not too spicy to wear it wasn't edible. She did like her soup and she also ordered the lobster and smoked Gouda ravioli for her entrée. She had no complaints considering she bagged the food up to go and wanted to finish it right there, but she couldn't. Lol. I ordered the twin seared chicken, which is actually half a chicken pan seared. My chicken was so delicious! It was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection to where it was fall off the bone. Just how I like it! The rice and the green beans paired well with it. My rice was cooked well, meaning it was not mushy or hard. And my green beans were a great consistency as well. My little one had a chicken tender salad since she loves cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, pretty much anything that comes in a salad that's not the lettuce. Lol. I must say I was impressed by the size of the salad because it was huge for a child. It would be great as a size salad for an adult. The chicken tenders were an amazing size, bigger than what most restaurants would give especially for a child's plate. I was highly impressed by the size of the portions for the children because the price is pretty standard for a kids meal entrée in comparison to other restaurants that give less. Our service was awesome! I wouldn't expect anything less considering the ambience of the restaurant. Our server was attentive, and he even bagged up both of our meals for us. This place is a 10 out of 10 and yes, I will be frequenting this restaurant a lot more in the future, even if it's by myself to sit at the bar.

Honestly everything about the place is pretty on point, it's an upscale restaraunt with alot of exposed wood, spacious, well thought out originally. The staff has always been corteous and knowledgeable, the menu always a great diversity (main courses, salads, starters - you name it, always slightly original and inspired) Personally though, it's more of a 'bring a date spot' eating in the dining room (cozy setting) and the bar is a dark area. During covid they removed the patio, so there is actually no outdoor seating anymore. I think that's why I most find myself not going there - is the dining and bar areas aren't super to my liking, I like bright and airy feeling venues. But they do have some live music and specials every day during the week that do make it appealing to be here different days otherwise which is brilliant marketing.

Unfortunately, our excitement quickly faded before we were even seated. When I walked into the restaurant, I was completely ignored by a young blonde employee named Claudia who was standing behind the counter in the waiting area. She looked directly at me and continued what she was doing without so much as a greeting or an acknowledgment. A simple, "Good morning, someone will be right with you," would have gone a long way. Since no one else was in the lobby and I noticed a clipboard on the counter, I politely asked if there was a waitlist. Claudia responded with an attitude that she "wasn't the hostess." I calmly asked where the hostess was, and she simply replied that she was clearing tables. There was no offer to help, no explanation of the process, and no attempt to assist me. She continued interacting with other staff members while I stood there feeling like an inconvenience. Thankfully, another employee who appeared to be a waiter noticed me. He immediately picked up the same clipboard that had been sitting on the counter, took my name and phone number with a cheerful attitude, and let me know it would be about a 15-minute wait. His professionalism completely contrasted with the poor customer service I had just experienced. Once seated, our waiter was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was also very good. I ordered the Chicken Sausage Scramble with hash browns, and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Catfish and Grits and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The food and our waiter helped redeem the experience, but first impressions matter. Management should ensure that every employee understands that providing basic courtesy and hospitality is everyone's responsibility, not just the hostess's. Even if greeting guests or managing the waitlist wasn't Claudia's primary role, there was no excuse for being dismissive or rude to someone walking through your front door. Alpharetta has no shortage of excellent brunch spots with both great food and outstanding customer service. Sadly, because of the way I was treated before I was even seated, I won't be returning to The Southern Porch. I also won't feel comfortable recommending it to friends or family. It's disappointing because the kitchen and our waiter did their jobs well, but one employee's attitude overshadowed what could have been an otherwise enjoyable brunch.
