Our teacher was fantastic -- informative, patient, encouraging, and always so helpful. We learned essential cooking techniques, kitchen basics, and so many delicious recipes that I'll continue making at home. The class itself was equally special because we had such a great group of students and truly enjoyed learning and cooking together each week. I will genuinely miss this class and look forward to taking more classes at LA Cooking School in the future. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their cooking skills in a fun and welcoming environment!

Five days later and no contact from Pam. I was so excited to take my mister to their Father's Day class. We're empty nesters and this was meant to be a special treat for both of us. He's not big on cooking classes but the posted menu was appealing and I promised to do all the heavy lifting. Ribeye Steak -- thought we'd learn some new techniques to elevate our steak prep game. Mexican Street Corn Dip and Homemade Tater Tots -- summer corn is a family favorite and the thought of making homemade tater tots was intriguing. Smash Burger Sliders -- wanted to learn to consistently nail that crispy exterior. Inexplicably, we were paired with another pair -- a single dad with an 8 yo kid. Neither the mister nor I wanted this but we didn't want to make a scene or hurt anyone's feelings. We didn't even realize we were paired with them until the chef pointed out that our mise en place tray was setup for four. Why?? 1. The Mexican Street Corn Dip which I think was supposed to be an appetizer, was completely omitted. However, we did make a grilled corn salad as part of the meal. There was no appetizer served when we arrived. 2. Instead of homemade tater tots we made potato wedges. 3. The team we were paired with was lovely. However the class was well beyond their skill level. So instead of taking on the bulk of the work for 2 people, I did the bulk of the prep for 4 people. The course description says there may be seasonal substitutions but these substitutions utilized the same core ingredients. This was more work than I anticipated and left me feeling a bit overwhelmed and behind schedule. This threw the timing off and my mister enjoyed his steak alone while I was still standing at a hot stove prepping food for 4 people. Not the fun afternoon of "us" time I'd envisioned. Overall this was a subpar experience in so many areas that mattered to us. Left me personally disappointed and apologizing to my mister for the poor planning and execution. Could have spent the same amount of money without the hour+ drive and had a better experience.

I don't live in LA anymore but I wanted to help and knew I needed to find the right person for the job, so of course I came to Yelp. And I found Hilary. I saw how beautiful her work was and decided to email her. Hilary was super easy to work with from the beginning. She looked at my inspo pic, made it her own, and communicated with me to ensure we'd be happy with the finished product. They came out absolutely stunning. People at the party couldn't believe the beauty and level of detail AND... they were DELICIOUS! Sometimes when ordering custom sweets, I expect to have to sacrifice a bit of taste for beauty. Not here - these cookies were delicious and flew off the trays. I almost didn't get one myself! These cookies were worth every penny. If you're in the area and in need of cookies for an event, I highly, highly recommend!

There are only a handful of places to take private cooking classes and there were only a couple available to teach us. I found another place through this cozymeal, and they were able to find me a chef but I had no clue where we'd be (location wise - kitchen, house..). I just couldn't trust that we'd be in a location as cute as La Cuisine. So I decided to book with them since Yelp has such cute pictures of the inside.. my only worry was the very few reviews. But I took that chance and when we arrived everything looked exactly what people posted on here..but even cuter! Chef Paru & Sophia were so welcoming and per the group - they were both attentive but also giving us enough space to try on our own. Also, didn't realize my cutting technique was wrong until taking this class haha! I rarely cook, but now I know going forward! I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for great instruction and something a somewhat intimate vibes and not within a standard industrial kitchen. Very low stress with simple instructions (even though I butchered the egg count, but the hosts were nice enough to give me a new bath of eggs). Absolutely incredible Studio; an unparalleled environment for growth and expression for artists…read more From the faculty to the culture, you can't ask for a more rewarding experience. FACULTY: During my 2-year technique program I had both Anne Dremann and DW Brown. Two of the greatest instructors you can possibly have. My amazing growth is directly due to their hard work, knowledge and dedication to the art. And that goes for any instructor at Baron/Brown, I have had substitutes as well as private coachings from other instructors at the studio, and all of them are extremely hard working and dedicated. Any one of them would be willing to give you the world if you were willing to work for it, and it's truly inspiring to have that kind of support. I can't be more thankful and indebted to their devotion to the art. CULTURE: Hard work, that is all that is asked of you and if you bring that, your abilities and growth can be limitless. Everyone is welcome with open arms at Baron/Brown, a wonderfully diverse environment where everyone can thrive and build a true foundation for a long career in acting. The Studio makes a priority to diversity and it shows, such a wonderful experience to grow with so many students from so many cultures and backgrounds, and that allows for the most beautiful art I've ever witnessed, to be created . I couldn't recommend this Studio more to anyone looking to build a true, long lasting foundation in acting. Not JUST the Meisner technique, but Joanne Baron, who herself is an absolute Godsend to those of us striving for knowledge and striving for greatness; she learned directly from Esper himself, meaning this is the truest form of the technique you can possibly learn from today. The studio does not teach you to "act" or to even "react" ....but to LIVE it. My time at Baron/Brown was an incredible life changing experience, and that is all due to the staff, the unmatched instructors who give their ALL and to the studio as a whole. No matter who you are or where you are from, Baron/Brown WILL create, with open arms, an everlasting artistic foundation in you. From my own experience: Hard work is the foremost talent, if you bring that, then achieving great things, is not a matter of possibility....but a matter of time.

Additionally the community of artists, from students and teachers I've come across made the journey so much fun even during challenging times. I am forever grateful to this studio for bringing me a new family and for being apart of this artistic legacy!
