Firstly, I want to say customer service was lovely 5/5 the food? The food is amazing I ordered "Poor Man's Burger " 5/5 the meat is perfect and all the sauces complimented the burger yummy! For my lovely girl I ordered Pork Belly sandwich and she rated it a 6/5 she is IN LOVEEEE with the burger!! Overall would recommend 10/10 would definitely be stopping here again FOR SURE!!!!! (And also food looks exactly like the pictures)

I must say that I keep coming because I like the food. The lomo is a great meal - rice, protein, veggies and a great sauce that brings it all together for about $10-$12. They also have tacos that are small but good. The shells are doubled but I am a petite girl and the two tacos are just not enough as a meal for me. Two tacos are $6. The truck doesn't usually have a line like the others do in this area, but don't be fooled by that if you are in a rush. They make the food to order and the wait time can be in line with the busier trucks around. On the plus side - they take credit cards which is nice. If you like Peruvian food, the weather is nice and you have a few minutes to spare I would recommend giving this place a try.

I spotted these guys on Union Square West. I'd never seen them before, so it's possible they get around. Had the Quesadilla Hongos. Now, I will say, I don't think these were real corn mushrooms (I believe they were buttons) but on most levels it didn't worry me. They were marinated in something salty and excellent, and paired up to wonderful effect with asparagus and melted cheese. I will also carp about the tortilla, which I believe came out of a bag (boo), as did the cheese. But the bottom line is, the quesadilla was a triumph of texture (cleavy, cellular mushrooms, fibrous, tender asparagus, melted cheese and a crispy tortilla) and flavor, and set me back a mere seven bucks. tl;dr - Unless you're truly hardcore about ingredient sourcing, eat here.

Sometimes it only takes just the right meal to bring a guy to his senses. Better yet if it comes on wheels.. Reigning from the great food cart Meca of Portland OR, I have come to expect a lot from mobile gastronomy, but it always boils down to unique flavor and quality ingtedients that make an impression last as you walk away.. literally. Trying both a chicken and pork taco, I got fresh Ingredients (like asparagus) and a large portion of each. Satisfying and delicious. Thank you guys for bringing such a satiating delight to such a stimulating place as NYC!

Unfortunately a lot of the rolls we wanted to get like beef brisket and curry fish balls ran out, also too is the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf. We ended up settling for roast pork rice roll, and a beef version, and lastly fish ball version. They make it from scratch which is nice to see while the ingredients are chopped up to small pieces. I do wish they put more ingredients in but for the price they charge (average of $2.75 per roll), no complaints there. There is one small table outside to eat in but no indoor seating or bathroom. I would give 3 strong stars.

The rice noodles were smooth and soft, the proportions of ingredients to rice roll were well-balanced, and the soy sauce was flavorful. I enjoyed every bite!

The other one is called Sahara and this one doesn't really have a name--it just says halal and has a bunch of pictures of food! I hate to do this but anytime, I take my health in my hand, and try street meat, I always subconsciously compare it to the cart on 53rd and 6th. Hands down, I think the 53rd and 6th cart has the best white sauce and rice around (well as far as street vendors go!) and thats saying a lot because I am a rice snob!. But this halal cart, gets a 5/5 for their lamb! its tasty, tender and cut into perfect portions. I am also pretty pleased with their white sauce. I am always surprised at how hot the hot sauce in these carts can be. Don't get me wrong, I am a practical fire eater so I can appreciate the heat, but even I would say that it must be used in moderation. While this isn't the hottest hot sauce I've tried, (once again--that honor goes to 53rd and 6th}, it is definitely in the running. If you're not one who enjoys the taste of fire, I'd advise you to skip the hot sauce. My main gripe is that the rice is a bit more grainy than I'm used to, but it isn't a dealbreaker. Anyway, I'm accustomed to having pita with my lamb over rice, but since that is not automatically included with this platter, I had to ask for it. Instead of just cutting the pita into quarters and putting it in the tray like I expected, he threw it on the grill, lightly doused it in white suace, warmed it up, cut it up into slivers, put it on top of the rice and finished it off with more of that adductive white sauce! Perfection! Needless to say, i was pleased! IDK if he charged me an extra .50 cents because I asked for the pita, but all this yummy goodness, with a complimentary soda, came out to only $6.50. My favorite thing about the cart though is that its sooo close to home! It is located at the Flatbush junction right in front of the Triangle Junction or as most people know it, the Target mall, so I'm sure it is very convenient for many people. Whenever I have the hankering for a lamb platter, which is getting to be pretty often!, I'm glad that I do not have to trek to the city anymore--this cart is a much appreciated and quite delicious alternative for my usual haunts: 28th and madison or 53rd and 6th!

Although it's not the traditional Taiwanese version I'm used to (with cabbage and carrots), I really like the lady's variation! (She uses shredded pickled daikon and carrots). I also ask for all the sauces and it's not too spicy either! I've only spoken Mandarin each time I ordered from her, I'm not sure if she speaks English or not. However, if you're a none Mandarin speaker, definitely speak up or grab her attention somehow to order since it can get chaotic sometimes if she's busy and she doesn't always remember who was first in line. She's very friendly!! I have gotten her stinky tofu at least five times since moving to Brooklyn and I've never gotten sick from it. Don't be intimidated by the street carts!

OVERVIEW: In many countries, it's not unusual for locals…read moreto eat two, or even three meals at street food stalls. This is not surprising, as many of these vendors can offer a hot, and delicious meal quickly, and for a relatively reasonable price. So, if you happen to be near Brooklyn Chinatown's famous 8th Ave, come visit Lotus Sister Food Cart. You'll experience the unique charm and feel of an authentic street food cart. And, at the same time, grab a quick tasty snack, or even a meal for a few people. For close to a decade it's been located on the corner of 57th Street and 8th Ave. And by chance, it's diagonally across 8th Ave from "Tofu Stall", another very interesting street vendor to visit. Keep in mind, that what's primarily being served here are quick eats, such as skewers, fried chicken, noodles, and dumplings. But this doesn't take away from the fact that the food here is delicious, and crazy fun to order and eat. WHAT TO ORDER: - The cheung fun rice noodle rolls are standard, but very good, and can be topped with fish balls, or curry fish balls. Of course peanut sauce and hot sauce can be added. - All the skewers are good, especially the chicken, chicken wing, fish tofu, fish balls, and others. - Their famous fried chicken legs are one of the best items, and are really crispy, with a hint of five spice flavor. Absolutely delicious. - The lo mien and rice noodles are tasty, but even better when topped with some of the skewers, or maybe some hot sauce. - The stinky tofu is a mild version, which is good to order if you like it, or if your trying it for the first time. - The dumplings are pork and chive, and are tasty, even though they are deep fried. - Plain cheung fun noodles, fried tofu puffs and other items are available in bulk, to take home and use in your own cooking. SERVICE: I really like the Auntie that runs this cart. She is friendly, to the point, and keeps things moving quickly, so everyone receives their order in a timely manner. When you're ordering, she always offers something additional for you to try, that she feels you will enjoy. She speaks Chinese and English, and is also happy to take your order by the point at the food or menu method if necessary. PARTING THOUGHTS: If I'm close to 8th Ave, hungry, and I don't feel like ordering from a restaurant, I can't pass up this auntie's food cart. Hell, just the smelll of her frying her famous chicken legs, is enough to catch your attention from almost a block away. So go visit her, and grab some chicken legs or cheung fun, and, what ever other tasty treats she convinces you to order. You'll be happy afterwards, I promise.

Prices range from $1-4 and the portions are appetizer sized (meaning they're not huggggge but enough to satisfy a temporary craving). Simply walk up to the cook, tell him what you want and wait for your turn. For the most part, I'll assume this is a cash only place. I've been wanting to review this place since forever but never knew there was a review page for it…read moreuntil about a day ago. Once I found out the page existed, I used it as an excuse to drive down here to "do some research" to make sure that the quality is still the same before I could give the place a fair review. Yep, still one of the better BBQ meat on a stick carts around. The great thing about this place is that they marinate everything very well and it shows with each bite that you take. Once cooked over charcoal, they sprinkle a generous amount of cumin seasoning to everything then they ask if you want chili powder added on top of it. For me, the answer is always a yes for the chili powder. The choices on a stick here is beef, lamb, chicken wing, tofu, fish balls, and hot dog. My favorite is the lamb (really tender), but the tofu, beef, and chicken wing isn't too far behind. Everything is a dollar a stick except for the chicken wing, which costs $1.50 each. This is as cheap as good street food gets. It's very small though so it's only good for a snack or else you would have to buy a lot to fill yourself up.
