This review is for the new location of Morongo Travel Center. I happened to be there at the exact moment they were roping off the old location and directing everyone to their new location directly up the hill. This was around noon on Presidents Day. At first, I was annoyed because stopping here is a habit on the road from California and I didn't like my routine disturbed. However, the new location (which I'll stress is only feet away) is MUCH better. Like the old one, it includes a gas station and car wash. However, the convenience store is much better--brand new and spacious--and includes restrooms. It also includes a room with casino games, though I'm not sure why someone would want that. Best of all though, the new one has a dog park (which I think would be more appropriately called a dog run). It's small and dirt vs. grass, but it is fenced and easy to park at. Considering there isn't any other convenient similar place that I know of right off the freeway, this is a huge asset. This is a couple hours into one's trip from LA to Phoenix, or a couple hours away from LA heading west, and the center contains lots of food options, from healthy to not, so this just makes a one-stop rest stop all the more one-stop. read more

If I can give it a zero I would , I'm native so walking in and visiting California it was amazing to see fellow tribes having such a nice establishment excitingly looking at every single item and all the native apparel well just to turn around and see security guards and the cashiers following us around like are we not able to see each piece I had intentions to buy so much because like I said I was excited , the feeling of being indigenous in such a native feeling establishment , and being followed really appalled me DO BETTER PEOPLE DO BETTER ! read more

Good stop for inexpensive gas when traveling between LA and Palm Springs and beyond. The gas prices here are regularly $0.30-0.40 cheaper than surrounding gas stations, plus it's got a nice big mini mart and clean restrooms. Another perk when stopping here is all the available food options nearby - there's Starbucks, Jersey Mike's, Panda Express, In-N-Out, and a handful of others within a minute of the gas pumps. The only downside is that it's so large and popular, it can sometimes feel chaotic when pulling in and trying to find an open pump. Totally worth the wait and slight headaches finding a spot to me, especially if the tank is low! read more

The food and snacks they have here are amazing. They had these little cookies that were made out of dulce de leche service there was very quick. The hotdogs were also very good better than Wienerschnitzel. And they got a little casino right next-door if you still feel like gambling. read more

Cheap gas, tons of pumps and a giant quickie mart. On the I-10 near Palm Springs. And since it is part of the Indian Casino, there are slot machines in the quickie mart! The gas prices are cheap because the reservation doesn't pay the 19cent California state gas tax. If you are heading out of LA on the 10, it is worth it to wait to fill up till you hit the Morango valley. read more

A very nice place and the availability of a dumping station. We usully love stopping here because they have a very nice set up and a dog park.However, very dissapointed to stop by and see a new place with closed dumping stations after a camping trip. Seems like a place like this would have constant maintenance to keep the dump station open and travelers happy read more

Cashiers are rude and sloth , get ready to wait ! Most still do not know how to sell a car wash even though they have been working there for months. Overstaffed security standing around like statues ,you would think one of them would keep the long line moving, no they let patrons walk right up to the counter from outside all the time cutting the line. Wear a mask ! Diseased Touristas and 4NRS coming in coughing and sneezing all over the place just to save a nickel on gas. The guards are dressed to look intimidating. I still don't know what they do here, I watch them standing around puffed like peacocks doing nothing for hours on end. Give them a broom or something to do. At least the short female " Fargo " looking one was nice. All the others look like they want to shoot you. They definitely don't enjoy their jobs. The night manager, Jennifer, needs more customer service and register training. I was passing through and came here to buy some snacks and coffee. My total was $54 but when I tried to pay the cashier told me my balance was only $51. I put back an item and that brought it to $51. Then the credit card machine said my payment was declined. I put back another item bring the total to $48. Again, declined. I checked my balance and it now said my balance was $0. Then, I received notifications on my phone. The first said I paid $51 to Morongo Travel Center. The next two messages said my card was declined. I showed the cashier (who was texting on her phone) and she basically shrugged and said "I don't have a ticket". I asked for a manager and she said she was the manager. I asked for her manager and she said if I wanted to wait until 6am the next manager would be there. Since I had to leave without my items and with now $0, I asked her if she didn't mind writing something stating I did not receive the items I paid for so I could more easily dispute it if needed. She then called security. The officer was very understanding and said he didn't blame me for asking for what I asked for. He called his supervisor who ended up saying they have security footage showing me leaving empty handed and gave me a card with his name and an incident number. I left and sent an email to the address on the website. The woman who contacted me regarding that was no help at all. She said in order for me to get a refund I would have to go in person. I live 2.5 hours away. Then she said to call the cardholder and ask how long it takes to reverse a pending transaction. I did what she said and the cardholder said it takes 7 days but that this transaction wouldn't be reversed because the merchant had accepted it. Just that the merchant could refund it and that after they receive the refund, it would take up to 14 days to show up in my account. Bottom line, I went in here with $51 and left with $0 and nothing to show for it but self serve coffee. Security was fair and kind and store was clean. But the cashier/manager I dealt with was rude. She was incompetent at her job and didn't even try to print any receipts or give me any record of anything at all. She just sat there and was on her phone most of the time. read more

Electric screen gas pumps that are crap and barely work you almost have to punch the buttons to get them to work over complicated. Seems nice go back to old pumps. Will never return again. read more

Hubby and I stopped here twice on our travels and kept getting so upset because each time we went the whole gas station was closed! All of the hours noted said they were open 24 hours! After our second attempt at coming here, I happened to see out of the corner of my eye a sign that said "Morongo travel center" with an arrow pointing up the hill. Turns out there is an entirely brand new gas station just up the hill from the old one! Sure would be nice if they would put a sign directing people up the hill! Other than that we found the best diesel prices around and the place was very easy to get in and out of. Will be back now that we know where it is! read more

Oh my gosh every time I come here there is always a rude cashier. Not one not two like all of them. Rude no customer service skills can't answer questions. No smile no greeting. I have been here numerous times over the past 20 yrs and this was probably the 1st time I used my complimentary car wash. I have to say, it was "The best one" I have ever used. I washed my car in my home town 3 times prior because it left streaks and spots and it didn't even compare to the quality here. I wish they were closer so I could use them from now on. NO other car wash I have ever used is this good! A++ The only bad thing I have to say is that while going thru the wash I heard a loud pop and didn't think much about it until I returned home 2 hrs later to find a nail in my back tire. The blessing and good news is, I thankfully made it home safe despite unknowingly driving on a flat for a very long time and in traffic. read more

Crowded and poorly organized. The gas pumps may or may not be working. Employees can't be bothered to put signs on them, they just tape the nozzle so you don't notice until you've already parked there to get gas. Then one time the entire station was shut down for no apparent reason, so it was a wasted trip off the highway. Forget it, go somewhere reliable. read more

The lot is easy to navigate and refuel your vehicle with some liquid dinosaur. Cheap gas - always equivalent to Sam's Club/Costco prices. Lots of pumps, and I never have to wait in line for long. However, it's not as organized as Sam's/Costco - people drive into the pumps from both sides, so it's a bit dangerous, and easy for someone to come in from the other side and take the pump that you've been waiting for (it's happened to me more than once). read more

We had an incident where the wrong pump was said on accident, came back to correct the manager claimed I had to pay again because someone had already pumped, it happened within the literal time span of 5 seconds, this "manager" was super rude on communication and was glad to charge us again, and the whole line agreed . I don't recommend this place, and I strongly believe there should be a different manager who is an actual people person. And ENJOYS being there. Won't be coming here again. read more

Car wash is sketchy sometimes. Even when purchasing the most costly wash, the high impact blasters that are supposed to hit the sides of your vehicle don't fire up from time to time, and occasionally the blower that dries off your vehicle before leaving won't work either. Consistently the best price fuel in CA if you're on your way to the west coast or can't make it to Arizona before adding a little gas to your tank. There's plenty of pumps and if you want to go inside and gamble for a minute they have a lot machines in the store. read more
