Our Toto toilet was running. The plumber came the same day. Something was under the flapper and once we removed it, it was fixed. Except the guy told me that the entire works needed to be replaced, for $600. Then he wanted to check the water pressure. He found a problem with it (it's new) and that would be another expensive repair. He checked the water heater that serves the kitchen, and what do you know? That, too, needed to be replaced. By this time, we knew that a scam was being launched and said no to all of it. He persisted, very high pressure. As I paid the service fee, he showed me online, new Toto toilets! So, now, we need a new toilet?!? He went to my husband, insisting that we do all this. Then he asked about our HVAC, which is brand new and state of the air. I told him that we had been with Integrity HVAC for decades and loved them. I'm surprised that he didn't start trying to sell us new cars! Within ten minutes of his leaving, we got an email urging us to join their HVAC maintenance plan. What a bunch of scam artists. I posted this on the Next Door newsletter and dozens of people responded with their exact same interactions with them! read more

They ripped off an elderly couple ( my parents) for $33000.00 dollars for work that was not needed in there home!!! it was a root problem in one bathroom!!! but the F.....up the laundry room and the other bathroom and outside!!! would not clean any up a left a hole in the laundry room open!!! DO NOT TRUST MORRIS JENKINS!!! Any HVAC company that compensates their techs with commission rather than salary is going to be rampant with unethical sales practices. One of these techs came to our house to investigate a vent that was not blowing air as well as it should. He, of course, opens the mixing box in the attic and finds traces of mold. He then claims that the entire duct work system needs to be replaced because "microscopic organic material" is breeding throughout the house! The cost for this? Oh, about 20k, because they need to custom rebuild the mixing box and put in all new duct work. Needless to say, I have 4 other companies come out to give estimates. The one that seemed, by far, to be the most honest was Travis Crawford. The tech said he sees mixing boxes in the exact same condition as mine on a DAILY basis. He also said there was ABSOLUTELY no reason to replace the duct work. 2 Days later 2 techs came, rebuilt an new mixing box in my driveway, secured all the existing duct work and installed a ultraviolent filtration system in the mixing box. About 9 hours of labor, plus the filtration system AND new mixing box. The cost? 3k. Morris Jenkins....what an UNETHICAL company with the most CRINGEY commericals ever made! I'm a Priority member for past year now after purchasing a house that has had 3 HVAC systems covered by MJ for 11 yrs now. My HVAC service guys are always professional and do the job they are paid to do. On the other hand, the plumbing arm of MJ has disappointed massively. The plumbing guys did a repair on a PVC drain pipe that was punctured by a screw (6 yrs ago) by cutting the pipe and installing a No Hub coupling. That pipe serviced the attic of the house and didn't have any activity for 5 out of the last 6 yrs until last year when my son occupied that space for the past year. A short while ago our hardwood floors started buckling and we determined it was the No Hub coupling failing (there is a cut in the gasket and non-uniform impressions on it suggesting the sheath was not installed properly and wasn't applying equal pressure to make the fix water tight). After speaking to 3 separate levels of management at MJ, no one is willing to accept responsibility! I heard lot of excuses of 'external influences' as the reason why it failed but the best explanation of how it could have occurred came from the Director who said it was likely settling of the house. He said its common for No Hubs to fail due to settling. With this being the case I don't understand why PVC cement wouldn't have been a more appropriate fix 6 yrs and would have likely avoided the water damage I'm dealing with now. The strangest part of the process is one manager said he has a high level of confidence the No Hub coupling was install properly but of course MJ has no evidence of that, as opposed to all the evidence (and damage) I have of it failing. Highly disappointed with the lack of ownership by MJ and definitely questioning the integrity of this company and whether I'll continue to be a customer in the future. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Neil Semmler on my yearly plan with Morris-Jenkins recently. I scheduled the visit just in time to prep for the incoming storm. Getting on schedule was easy and they had very flexible availability on the calendar. Enter Neil. He was very communicative on his way to my place as well as punctual. He was also very professional and personable. He got straight to work on arrival and appeared fully prepared, asking only for the location of the thermostat and directions to the roof. I work from home so having maintenance during working hours can be disruptive but not with Neil. He was so quiet even my nosy dog didn't realize he was there. The check up didn't take long at all and he had a wealth of information to share on the status of my system. No frustrating upsells or anything like that. He said all looked good and gave me a note on things to look for down the road as my unit is pretty dated. He also gave me advice on usage as the storm approached, cautioning that putting the system in use ahead of the storm was better than waiting until things froze up. I'm glad he mentioned it bc I had plans to wait, but no, I was toasty through the entire event, confident that Neil's maintenance was thorough and that my system was in good working order. I really appreciate the Morris-Jenkins plan because they keep my system up to date to avoid any unexpected repairs or discomfort in extreme weather. A couple weeks ago Morris Jenkins tried to tell me I had a cracked heat exchanger (even showed me a picture of something that was NOT my furnace) and tried to sell me on $17,000 of a new furnace and AC units (the cheapest of the 4 options). The guy turned the power off to my furnace (on a 35 degree night) and told me it was too dangerous to have on. The salesman even tried to tell me I had to make up my mind that night because he was leaving town the next day. Ridiculous. I got two other quotes and for the heck of it a second opinion. My heat exchanger was not cracked, it is fine. The second opinion read through the report that Morris Jenkins provided and showed me how the things they said were done could not even be possible. We later found out that we actually didn't need a new pressure regulator and that the valve in the shower should've only cost around $300. We were definitely ripped off and taken advantage of for being new in town. Now we will need to pay even more money for another plumber to come out to undo what the techs did. My a/c was serviced twice this year and yet continued to malfunction. two days ago my partner went to the attic to again address the problem when she fell, gashed her leg and ended up in hospital. I won't beat a dead horse about their crooked methods, so I'll just tell you what was the straw that broke the back for us. We were Priority Advantage customers and found it to be valuable until it became an EZ Pass for them to get to our wallet. When our kitchen sink faucet handles were leaking water, we asked MJ to come out. The service technician made no effort to fix it and after, I kid you not, 5 seconds in the house pressured us into buying an entirely new faucet. We were fools and agreed to it since we wanted a new faucet anyway. Not only did we get a new faucet but also a significant markup on the actual cost of the faucet. Technicians were polite and professional. First technicians friendly and professional but did not do what I was told they would do. I had a main line clog due to roots. I was told they would clear the line but they snaked a small hole in the roots that was big enough to push camera through but left the vast majority of roots. Second technician put camera in line and showed me all the roots. He did not clear the line either. He gave me a price of $1200 to hydro clean the line. He also gave me a price of $6700 to repair the pipe. I was told that it might be a while to repair pipe because it would take a few days to get locators out so if we wanted to use lavatory, dishwasher, shower we would have to pay to hydro clean. We ended up using another big name company whose price was approx half Morris-Jenkin but no hydro cleaning. Why hydro clean the line if it being repaired in a couple days? If you want to pay more, pay for Morris-Jenkins commercials and impress your neighbors with the Morris-Jenkins truck go right ahead. I want a honest plumber at a fair price who does not try to upsell services. read more

We had them out for our annual heating inspection. They had scheduled between 10 and 2 and we received a call around 9:45 that they would arrive in 20 minutes and Lee arrived within that time. It is refreshing to have people who think about time and hold to it. Lee was friendly and courteous. I love that they wear covers on their shoes when they come inside He inspected and cleaned the coils as well as changed all of the filters and checked the batteries in the smoke detectors. Been a Priority Advantage member for a year now and normally I'm a bit skeptical of HVAC companies (really any home maintenance company), but I gotta say Morris Jenkins has been really terrific to me. Today when I turned my AC on for the first time this summer I noticed it wasn't blowing cool air. I called Morris Jenkins at about 1:30, and by 3:30 they had a tech on their way. Thanks to the tech giving me a call to let me know they were on the way, I was able to ask them to come by a little later at 4:30 when I would be home. Not a problem for the MJ team, they sent Pete over who was exactly on time. Pete took about 10 minutes to fix my problem, in the pouring rain no less. He let me know that the problem was due to an error from the previous tech. Instead of blaming something else, Pete was super cool about it. 15 minutes after he arrived, Pete had cool air blasting through the vents. Since I am a Priority Advantage member, the visit was cost me nothing! Morris Jenkins was at our home several months ago for an electrical repair related to our water line. While they were here one of their workers damaged my black top driveway with their vehicle. They assured me it would be fixed. We had our driveway put in two years ago. Costing us 10,000.00. One year later we paid to have it sealed costing us 2000.00. After I allowed their people to try and repair it the driveway was further damaged. Then their people came out multiple times. They asked me have the company that put my driveway in come out and give an estimate. Which they did. The professional asphalt company stated that area would need repaired and entire driveway would need resealed. As only doing area damaged would then look like a pot hole that had been fixed. Total cost 2000.00 dollars. Morris Jenkins was not happy with this idea. They offered to donate 500 towards the cost. Then after many text and conversations they decided to donate 600. I informed them that this was not satisfactory and that my husband would reach out to them. My husband left multiple messages for "Dan" who has never returned his calls. It is very disappointing that a reputable company like Morris Jenkins would treat its customers like this. I personally don't think anyone would want their new driveway to have a pot hole repair job without a complete seal so that drive was restored to what it looked like prior to damage caused by one of their employees.
