I was visiting my parents for the day and we were trying to decide what to order for dinner. Growing tired of Italian and Chinese takeout, they suggested Morris Park Inn. They had ordered from them in the past with good things to say, and since we were all in the mood for it we decided to grab dinner from here. MPI is a recent addition to the Morris Park Strip, having opened in 2019. I'm having trouble pinpointing what this was before, but I've driven down this road countless times since I was a kid and I do remember it being either a bar or empty. Anyway, like many restaurants these days they are offering takeout, so I browsed the menu to see what stood out. The menu is mostly pub food; apps, sandwiches, salads, wraps, some entrees, and burgers - nothing too flashy but solid offerings. I wanted a burger so I honed in on that area of the menu. They gave the choice of beef, turkey, or Impossible with a number of toppings. I chose turkey with Swiss, bacon, lettuce, and tomato - plus a side of waffle fries because, you know, waffle fries. My brother ordered some corkscrew shrimp for us to share as well. The burger was good, the bun wasn't too try and the toppings to turkey ratio was perfect - it has just enough filling without being too sloppy or clumsy in the hand. The waffle fries were very good and they provided a very generous portion. The corkscrew shrimp were fun - they're essentially popcorn shrimp which I didn't mind at all, it bought me right back to summer trips to Maine. Service was fast - we decided to pick up and were told our order would be ready in 20 minutes which it was. I also loved the fact that each order was packed in individual boxes - it made everything all neat and tidy. Overall, I enjoyed my first experience at Morris Park Inn. With the overabundance of Italian spots in the neighborhood, they stand out by offering high quality food that stands out while also maintaining familiarity. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. read more

Stumbled upon this gem on a nasty, wet day. Upon entering into the establishment, the place was pretty empty except for a few locals that were seated at the bar. Everything was well organized and clean inside. We decided to take a table close to the bar. Ray came by took our orders and then before you knew it the food was out. Some friends and I were looking for a place to hang out and have dinner after they got out of work. Never been here before but was curious given all the positive reviews. And I will say that this is certainly a hidden gem and a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious. We had the calamari as an appetizer and I had the baby back Ribs, which had great barbecue sauce on it. The mashed potatoes was OK and could have been smoother. Service was decent, but the waitress could have gotten back to us a little sooner after we sat down. I saw that they didn't have a lot of staff so that's probably why. Finally! After having months of their great food for takeout during this pandemic we got to dine in at Morris Park Inn! Their great chef is my friend John Denizard, who took good care of us with his special cuisine and cocktails. We started with their huge Bavarian hot pretzel and beer cheese. Onto the French onion soup with so much cheesy goodness on top. Chef also treated us to crab cakes with a corn and mushroom medley and a sliced steak on crostini with sautéed sweet onions and drizzle of balsamic reduction. Our entrees were big and delicious, the roast turkey served with garlic mashed potatoes with savory turkey gravy and veggies. The other was the slow roasted pork Pernil with rice and gandules which was so flavorful and tender! This was served with a homemade salsa verde. We also were treated to two fall cocktails, one with a cranberry pomegranate juice and the other with a peach and caramel! They were dessert in a glass. Their menu is chock full of a variety of starters, salads, wraps, sandwiches, entrees, pastas, burgers and their specialty wings! We are excited to go back to try their pulled pork sliders, tacos, quesadillas, shrimp scampi, roast beef dinner and special giant MPI Platter with mozzarella sticks, mac & cheese bites, chicken fingers, broccoli bites, onion rings, fried pickles, wings, corkscrew calamari and jalapeño poppers all for just $20! It's a decent place for no frills drinks (beer and mixed drinks). I was told that the food here is really good but the tacos and arroz con gandules I ordered were very BLAH. Don't order the MPI signature burger because you will get a patty and a bun. Don't order parm/truffle fries because you will get fries with a hint of parm/ truffle. I've been wanting to stop by here for a while any time I've passed by the Morris Park area of the BX. Before things went bonkers because of COVID this always seemed like a lively spot that catered to the neighborhood locals. Finally, we went to try it on a lazy Sunday and left stuffed. First we started with the chicken wings (spicy) and chicken tenders. The chicken wings were a great size and very meaty. Absolutely loved the flavor and honestly could've been just fine with a larger order of these and a few more beers. The chicken tenders were not that great. They reminded me of frozen tenders and even the "chicken" part was questionable. Didn't look like chicken at all. But both came with awesome, crispy fries. Next up was the Cubano and Roast Beef Au Jus which were both excellent. The only problem with the Cubano was that it was not hot at all. But it did have some awesome flavor packed into it. The Roast Beef Au Jus was friggin' awesome. I asked for extra roast beef since I didn't want to run the risk of getting a skinny sandwich and I'd suggest you do the same. I absolutely loved the sandwich. The roast beef was tender and flavorful and had a good slathering of cheese. This one's a doozy. Our waitress (unfortunately I did not get her name) was incredibly helpful and sweet and was constantly making sure we were good. Overall, a great dining experience. Wouldn't mind heading back here for some more wings & beers and those tasty fries. read more

We went for straight up comfort food... bacon cheeseburger, steak sandwich, fries, onion rings and mozzarella sticks... and we were not disappointed! I've become a frequent customer at the bar since they opened and i am quite impressed with management style the service being offered. Whether you go in for a bite or a drink, the bartenders and servers are always friendly. As well as The owners who are very present in their business and are always a delight. I highly recommend the mac & cheese bites, wings, and their burgers. Never dry and savory.
