I'm knowledgeable enough about tires and auto repairs and have dealt with enough tire and automotive repair shops over the years to know when I'm being taken advantage of and upsold with a laundry list of 'urgent' repairs, but the crew at the Mavis Discount Tire in Morristown has won me over with their efficiency, honesty, and fair pricing. I recently bought tires for my SUV on the tire manufacturer's website and was able to book an appointment for installation at Mavis Discount Tire. The service at Mavis Discount Tire was efficient and straightforward. They honored my appointment, which isn't always a given, and got me back on the road in about 2 hours, which was pretty good for a Sunday morning. They didn't try to upsell me with any unnecessary add-ons. They gave me a fair price and a realistic timeline and actually stuck to both. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the waiting area could be improved with complementary beverages for customers and the bathroom was out of order, but I'm here for tires and basic auto repairs, not for bad coffee or to use the bathroom. I'll definitely be back next time I need tires or other auto repairs. I planned to come up from Brooklyn and see/drive the car but wanted to make sure it received high marks on a pre purchase inspection so I headed to yelp to find a mechanic since I don't know anyone in the area. WOW these guys were awesome. I was able to make an appointment to bring in the car and they promptly got to work upon arrival. When I came back to get the post inspection lowdown I unfortunately received bad news. The car is a lemon and I was advised strongly by 3 different people there not to buy this car unless the seller was asking no more than $800 (they're asking $3,075 despite the fact that Kelley blue book prices it at $2,300 if in GOOD condition which it's clearly not). For $100 I saved myself potentially thousands in near future repairs. I'd come back here in a heartbeat.

I feel confident that Tom is giving me a fair price every time. Cons: Not many. -If they had the same long hours/weekend hours as the dealer, it would be perfect. - Needs a bigger sign. The driveway is pretty hidden, and can be hard to miss if cruising down Morris Ave.
