I contacted this company thru Yelp and talked to Judy about our issue with our A/C blowing air and not cooling down. We're worried because it's already Summer and other companies are not available until the end of this month (July). Rich came in and did an initial diagnosis, and then a week later, Steve came in and finalized the diagnosis and gave us a quote to replace the evaporator/coil (or whatever it's called) which is a normal wear and tear. The price was reasonable,plus, they found out what's really wrong with our system (which was a leak). We scheduled a replacement then after another week we have cool air blowing out of our vents...Yay!!! It feels great when you know a feature in your house functions as expected. This company provides reasonable accommodations for their customers especially during busy seasons and we're happy we chose them to fix our system. Our thermostat went out on our AC/Heating. After getting a recommendation to use Steve Bailey and reading all the five star reviews, I gave them a call on a Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately due to many other appointments the dispatcher told me the earliest they could come was on the next Monday at 11:00AM. That Monday they called at 7:55AM to confirm and Steve Bailey arrived at our house at 10:50AM. He quickly ascertained that the thermostat was bad and replaced it. He gave me several tips on keeping costs low (change your filters) and the maintenance of the fan unit outside. He installed the new thermostat, explained how to use it, tried it out and was gone in about twenty minutes. The bill was reasonable. I called Steve Baily heating and air to make an appointment to have our A/C and furnace tuned up, to inspect why our A/C had stopped putting out cool air, and to have an estimate given to remedy an airflow problem we're having with a lack of air getting to our second floor. We were given an arrival window of 12p to 2p. Steve arrive just before 2pm, not many words were exchanged. He seemed, moody. I chalked it up to he was probably running a bit behind and not in a talkative mood. No problem. Some people aren't into formalities but do great work. He asked what he could help us with, and I repeated what I had told his staffer when I made the appointment. In about 30 min he fixed the A/C issue of no cold air and replaced a part for $225. The staffer ran through a list of tune up items that Steve was to cover in our A/C and furncace tune-ups, though the entire 30 min seemed spent on investigating the defective A/C part and cutting a cable to remove a furnace filter screen. Regarding the investigation of the air flow to the upstairs: that was worthless. We literally stood at the bottom of my staircase, looked up to the second floor, and Steve made a couple of comments as to how he could rectify the problem of inadequate cooling/heating upstairs--all without even looking into what exists for ducts and space in our attic. I asked him if he'd like to see it, but he said he could tell it was maybe '4-feet of space' and said he didn't need to go up there. He suggested a heat pump for the second floor be installed in the attic. I asked him how he'd get it in there. I told him the only way into the attic was a 2.5'x2.5' opening in the ceiling of one of my kids closets. He said he'd need to cut a bigger opening. In my head, I questioned why he was giving suggestions without wanting to see the constraints of the space. I asked for an estimate so we can plan how best to move forward, and he said he'd send one. That was nearly three weeks ago, and no estimate was ever sent. Steve appeared to be running late and seemed stressed the day he came to our house, and as a result the service was lackluster and there was no follow through. He wasn't overtly rude, and I would have given three stars for average service. But not receiving an estimate as promised after a "so-so" visit is definitely no better than a "meh, I've experienced better" two-star Yelp rating. I'm a bit bummed because we discovered this company based on the positive Yelp reviews, so we won't be pursuing any further business with this company. First impressions are important. read more

I get it... they have lots of overhead with all the advertising and all...but not only was the price super high, I was not loving the mojo. It's real hard to get any of the AC guys to show up on a short notice during the hot-n-sweaty month of August but Steve was able to find a spot for the next day appointment. I had a clogged condensate drain line with the exit end that couldn't be located - it was completely buried under many layers of landscaping material. Steve has loosened up the clog in no time, then located the drain exit point - all for a much more reasonable price than those "big" companies would charge you to just show up.
