I'm past-due for giving 'atta-boys' for my moving experience from Carmel, IN to Clearwater, FL w/Morse Moving/Allied Van Lines, Noblesville IN in June/July 2021. From my first contact, Rep Henry Bracken, to the office staff, movers/packers in IN, the car transporter, 2 delivery men in FL...ending w/the person from Allied who handled my damage claims. I was kept me up to date for every step of my move. The only negatives: Packers were to arrive day prior to my move, but were running late from previous job...So they packed and moved me on the same day. They did work non-stop. Extremely small, non-fragile items, were packed w/ridiculous amount of paper, which was not used as padding...But lampshades were not packed appropriately, and were damaged. Car transporter in IN was 6 hrs later than appointed time...However, car pickup in FL was perfect! , Allied was very generous w/their restitution for damages. I've made several in-city moves the past 35 years, using several moving companies...This was my first out-of-state move...But Morse Moving/Allied and staff made it as painless as possible! I think they are by far THE BEST moving company I've ever used...So I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them!!!!!! read more

You would have to be desperate or insane to hire this company. Moved for an exorbitant price from IN to NY. The packing team arrived smelling intensely of marijuana smoke. Items were packed in a disorganized fashion and several items arrived damaged. The moving team also arrived smelling intensely of marijuana smoke at 8:00 AM. They were clearly under the influence of drugs both while loading our items, driving the truck, and delivering our household. A wardrobe box with thousands of dollars worth of coats and jackets was left behind and has not been shipped 3 weeks after our move. Among the items that were missing were lampshades, finials, and shade hoops for our expensive lamps which makes them completely unusable. Contacted the office many times but our contact seems to be "out of the office" more often than not. Contacted Allied customer service to see where we get with a remedy. Have also contacted an attorney due to the unresponsiveness of the company. Worst move I've ever experienced, and I've hired interstate movers many times. You have been warned!!! read more

If there was Zero they would get. The people they sent was excellent. But when they make a mistake they have a terrible company policy. They lost a separator to a very expensive dining table. The cost to get it replaced was $527.24 what they deemed they were responsible for is $60. What a bunch of crap $.60/lb. The also damaged an expensive leather sectional and decided they were responsible for $150. I have to find the repairman. I paid them over $5130 to store the furniture/belongings plus over $3500 for the moves. I would not even come close to recommending this company. Moves are rugged and will always have bumps; but WEsley, Spencer, and Travis, the guys who did the actual move, deserve 10 stars. I have used several professional moving companies in the past. These guys were the best. They were quick, professional, and helped me decide where things should be put. My "bump"was one of the packers who missed almost everything in the master bath linen closet and master bath drawers. Another bump was the amount estimated to be moved. The number of boxes estimated was not enough. At first I was concerned about the additional cost for boxes but then told them to go ahead - though they did not charge me for the additional boxes they used from their van, they did not have enough to get my house completely packed - which really was a pain to ask friends and relatives to come on move day, bring boxes, and help me. Overall I would recommend Morse moving, but I would budget 10% more than estimated. read more

The pick up of my household from Columbus, OH was delayed and left me a little frustrated. The company was able to make it up by quickly delivering to Columbus, IN. They arrived close to the appointed time. I was very happy with the delivery team. They were quick and helpful to take away the boxes and debris. Although a few items were scratched and dented in the transit, they were quick to send me a check for my claims. read more

I would suggest passing over Morse and Allied moving. Scott Manges their sales rep came out and gave a estimate for 8500 lbs. We had 5 other companies come out and they all estimated between 9.5-10.5 k lbs so I called Scott and he said he's normally dead on but he'd add 1k lbs to the estimate ..... Moving day comes Jose the drive say hey there's no way we'll fit all your stuff on this truck because the other house hold loaded on the truck had way more then their salesman estimated ...... Jose loads up the truck and takes off leaving about 1/3 of my stuff in the house. I then call Faith Toombs's at the Morse office and ask what the heck their going to do? Finally they send out another truck load up the rest of my stuff and put it into storage..... We are now almost 4 weeks later I'm in Florida and most of the stuff I need is in Indianapolis. First of all, Shannon was very friendly over the phone. She patiently explained the Morse Moving code (morse code, heh heh) while she figured up my estimate. Harry and Adam arrived early on moving day and moved me from my 1 bedroom basement apartment to my new apartment in 5 hours (in-town move). They were very friendly and pretty careful with my stuff. The guys got super sweaty. There was plenty of sweat transfer going on between the movers and my furniture... But I think that's to be expected. It would have been less gross if they had wrapped the larger items (like my mattress) in a moving blanket or plastic wrap. I used Two Men and a Truck last time, and they were not careful with my things (and left a lot of the smaller items for me to move on my own). There's a little cost difference, but I think going local was totally worth it. I would call them again. read more

Worst moving company EVER!!!! Avoid at all costs!!!We scheduled this move weeks in advance. We did a consultation and they reviewed all our items and gave us a quote. It was quite expensive but we needed this done right so we decided to go forward. Days prior to the move nobody reached out to confirm arrival date and time. I had to call several people to get that information. Driver arrived with 4 inexperienced and foul smelling teenagers. The truck did not have enough room on it for all our things despite us doing that consultation. The left 1/4 of our items and did not return until 5 days later to get what remained. We were told all of our items would arrive TOGETHER despite being loaded on different trucks/days. On delivery date several items arrived broken. They did not reassemble our items correctly. And they did NOT have all our items. We were told they would arrive the next day. After making many futile phone calls and sending many futile emails, I still do not have the rest of our items and it's been a week since delivery. They just gave me an ETA that it will be at least another week. They have zero professionalism, and do not care about the customer or their items. read more

Worst experience ever. Not only did these guys backout last-minute on my scheduled move, but refused to answer the phone or find us alternative help! We were told that the driver couldn't make it due to some personal issues. Basically, my husband and I were stranded with our apartment wrapped up and noone to help move our stuff, 1 hr before the planned time!! Ended up paying another mover twice the amount (we paid $650 to move 40 mins away, which is normally 300ish.. Ridiculous) to move our stuff the same day. Do yourself a favor, don't call these guys. I left a review several days ago thinking our moving experience could not get any worse. How wrong I was. The remainder of our goods were to be picked up yesterday (Friday, July 22). Last night at 9:05 pm I received an email stating there was not enough room on the truck for our goods. Don't you think after 3 weeks of waiting for our goods that ours should have been on the truck FIRST?!?! I have now demanded that I be able to have my goods picked up by someone else. I would NOT recommend them at all! After a 9 hour move that we thought was going OK, turned out not to be. The next day, while unpacking, we discovered broken dishes, dented safe, and dented gutters (from moving truck backing into it). The only thing they agreed to pay for were the gutters since we had pictures of it happening. The dishes and safe were blamed on us for not packing it correctly for the move. The worst part was stolen necklaces - some valuable and some just very sentimental. They denied it and wanted proof. Not sure how you prove something is missing when it was there before the move and not after. They requested a police report (which we didn't get) and continued to refuse to address it with their employees. At one point, the owner, Dave Morse, suggested that perhaps I just misplaced all 7 necklaces and was trying to blame them. He was going to review and get back to me and that was 9 months ago! We had a crew of 3 of the hardest working moving pros I have seen. They got to work quickly, took every precaution to protect our old home packed, protected and loaded our furniture and incedentals. When we arrived at our new home they were quick and efficient with the unload and took every precaution to protect our new home. They placed and put everything back together exactly as I directed. When everything was completed we settled slightly under the estimate. The guys were personable and friendly, and professional in every aspect. If you are thinking about hiring a moving company, I would highly recommend Morse Moving. My wife and I ended up deciding to move our items ourselves because we did not have much to move, so I cannot speak to the actual moving service itself. That said, the professional who visited our apartment was so helpful and friendly that I felt compelled to write a review. I called a few different moving companies to come out to our place and give us estimates and none were half as helpful as Mr. Rivera from Morse Moving. In fact, the North American representative was quite rude and offensive. Mr. Rivera was efficient in making his estimate and then sat down with us to talk through various options. Unfortunately, we needed to move all of our items in a single day which Morse Moving was unable to do due to the small amount of belongings we were moving. What impressed me was that rather than arguing with me to convince me that such a move was impossible (such as my experience with North American), Mr. Rivera suggested a number of ways in which Morse Moving could still be of service: movers to load and unload our Uhaul truck, packing supplies, packing services, et cetera. I have no doubt that their actual moving services are just as impressive as some other reviews have expressed. read more

What a joke that is. We had 20 pieces of furniture and about 15 boxes it took them over 8 hours. They charged us an extra $53 and damaged our property, I filed a claim was ignored on my last email back and received a check for $100 to fix my king size mattress, my child's bunk bed and dresser and my baseboard and walls. Looking to hire mover for a long distance move from Indianapolis to Manhattan, my research uncovered that every company has terrible reviews on pretty much every site. Not comfort inducing. I ended up choosing Morse/Allied and everything was as advertised. No hidden charges. My stuff was picked up and delivered when promised with no damage (a few boxes took a beating, but my stuff was fine). And their customer service was good. They had to use shuttles on both the pickup and delivery, which increased risk, but it went off well. I've had variable luck with Allied for long distance moves in the past, but this one went well. read more

Morse Moving and Storage made a disaster out of my move from the Indy area to the SF Bay area in CA. It started with Jack M. miscalculating the amount to be shipped. Then they brought the wrong size truck and forced us into an overflow shipment, which did not leave Indy until almost two weeks later. After signing and executing an agreement to deliver on a Sunday, "likely Saturday", the movers on the CA side refused to honor the agreement, unloading on Monday and causing me to lose a day's pay at my new job. As it turns out, Morse knew full well (Jack admitted it) that a mistake was made and there were no intentions to move me in on the weekend. Today the overflow shipment finally arrived in CA and the driver refused to take any of my goods to offsite storage, in violation of the signed agreement. So my garage and house are overflowing. Jack won't even take my calls about this. And to add insult to injury, Morse is trying to violate their own "guaranteed and binding price agreement" by increasing the price well over $1000. These are very dishonest people. Do not give them your business or you will regret it dearly. read more

If I could write a review with 0 stars, I would. My husband hired these people to move our things from a storage locked in Indianapolis to our new home in Texas. We got a good deal and they said they could get our things to us on Feb. 10th. It was a 2 week wait. During that 2 weeks we did not hear from them, which I found a bit odd. Then on the 10th I stayed home waiting for them to show up...by 3:30 PM my husband called them to ask when they would he there. They said they were close and would be there at 5 o'clock, so I waited...and waited...and they never came. At first we thought maybe they had gotten our address wrong, so we tried to call and for 3 days (business days) we couldn't get a hold of anyone. So finally we left a message saying that if we did not hear from them in 24 hours we were pressing charges. Still nothing. So today we called the police in Indianapolis and were told that we were by far not the first to have this problem with them, and that most people never see their things again. Basically, they give you a great deal, send you a confirmation and receipt, and then disappear with your things. Just to give you an idea of what was in our storage locker, we may never see my wedding dress, shoes, or pictures that only I have a copy of again. My husbands signed basketball jersey, and other expensive sports memorabilia, my Yamaha full length keyboard, our brand new TV, letters from my mother, tax receipts, books, journals...all gone. There is a small chance the police will be able to find our things before they pick through what they can sell and ditch the rest...but it's a small percentage of people who actually see their property again. Do not hire these people. Do not let anyone else hire them. They may not do it to every person who hires them, but if they do it to you, you'll wish you'd never heard of them. read more

My move with Morse Moving and Storage (Allied Van Lines) was a big rip-off because their "Total guaranteed not to exceed price" turned out not to be guaranteed at all. Their estimator, Tyler Feree, seemed nice enough when he estimated the job and gave a low bid for our move from Indianapolis, IN to Eugene, OR. We did have other bids for this job and Mayflower's weight estimate was significantly higher than Tyler's looking at exactly the same stuff. The bait and switch happened when they weighed the load and it was more than they expected. Tyler then called and in an infuriated tone and accused me of having more stuff than he estimated, though there was nothing that he didn't see on his physical assessment. He essentially told me that the "Total guaranteed not to exceed price" was just a fiction and that they would either leave part of my load behind or make the driver pay for it (asking the driver about that later, I found that this part was a bald-face lie). This may not have been a purposeful bait-and-switch, but this was his job as an estimator to get the weight right, not ours as customers. It would have seemed fairer if estimate overweight was charged the same rate as underweight that would have been refunded to us if the load was lighter than estimated - instead it was about 4-times the rate. They also left hundreds of dollars worth of garden tools behind, even though they were packed together and stickered for the move, and they were also noted on the final walk-through as needing to go. Morse asked me to bring the items to their warehouse myself so they could be added to my load and I did, but they still didn't ship with the rest of the load. They did ultimately send some of the tools by UPS, but left out all the heavy or awkward tools (axes, sledgehammers, pole pruners, etc.). In the end, I was forced to pay more than $4,000 above the "Total guaranteed not to exceed price" I had been given in writing. I would never work with these guys again and warn you not to either! read more

I used Morse Moving based on a recommendation from my real estate agent. Big mistake. The first two people I dealt with were great on the phone. The movers not so much. There were two movers. One seemed much more professional. The other was careless with my belongings. The first stayed in my apartment and moved things in and out. The other packed things in the truck. I should have looked at how these were packed. After everything was moved, I was given paperwork to sign, including a statement that I had inspected everything and there was no damage. I hesitated. I should have refused to sign because I hadn't had time to inspect anything. Over the weeks as I unpacked and moved things around I realized how much of my furniture had been damaged. I was appalled. It was a simple move. I have moved at least a dozen times in my life with the help of friends and during those moves only two items had been damaged. But with "professional" movers like Morse Moving, I had furniture damaged. I reached out to the company and was passed off to another woman who was so disengaged and unfriendly that I ended up hanging up and walking away. Lesson learned. I will never use Morse Moving again. I have moved many times and I should have known when Jack came to my home miscalculated move because it was a weekend move and the fact that he low balled the other three quotes I received things were not going to go well. I figured with his years of experience this should be no problem. Day of the move the guys complained and than mad because they had to move my big screen LCD TV. They were convinced it was a plasma and wouldn't you know it when installed in new home it was broken. Probably from the trip they took to get lunch. Very bad experience with this company. Have gone down hill since I used them years before. Had requested full value insurance protection insurance, but they changed it back at the office without me knowing it and then refused to compensate me for my damages after the move unless I gave them more money. Toll-free line disconnects and was a complaint of mine even on the previous move. Have had to go through their Michigan office even when trying to call Indy. Poor computer which purged my old file with them. Even worse was their claims dept. Really nasty and accusatory and kept telling me what they WOULDN'T do for me. Was a long distance move--Central to Northern IN, they insisted was a local move and said my claim was due in within 10 days, even though they didn't provide me with claim form until way after that. Charged me almost the same poundage as last move, but this time I didn't have a queen-sized sleeper sofa or a mattress/box spring. In other words, they ripped me off. Quoted me one price for an additional stop within my area. Changed the pricing at the time of the move before the van got here. Much higher. Had to negotiate them down or they wouldn't have done the extra pick-up. Still double the original quote, though. The only bright spot was the two women packing team and the young drivers. But even then suffered damages. My main problem with them was the office staff, the poor means of communication with particularly the Indy office (even though it had been discussed with them yrs. ago), the claims dept. and the nasty way they handle you, and the management/owner team who instead of doing anything for me, just kept throwing me back to the claims dept. I'm now having to work with my personal insurer, even though I paid a significant amount for my moving insurance and my move. I paid over $2900.00 for the total move. I move frequently and will have to reconsider whether I'll use Allied Van Line agents again. read more

I had used morse moving twice before. Both times the crew was very professional, efficient, and took care of my belongings. Both moves had the same crew supervisor. I believe his name was Chad. I was hoping to get Chad the third time as well. I did not. I had a crew of four clowns. They wreaked of marijuana smoke and B.O. 3 of the men crapped in my bathroom. Ok, not the end of the world. However, when I went back to the apartment the next day, it smelled like a pig farm in the bathroom with a toilet full of poop. I almost threw up in my mouth. Disgusting! They faught with each other the entire time. I thought two of them were going to come to blows at some point. There was no sense of urgency on the movers part. They took their sweet time. Always stopping. Always taking breaks. All they did was complain. They had no idea how to properly move large furniture. It was a total joke. Scratched the hell out of every piece of my 7 thousand dollar bedroom furniture set. Scratched the hell out of the spare bedroom set. Put huge gouges in my Oak hardwood floors, which is really hard to do. Put dings all over my walls. Took a huge chunk of drywall out of one of the corners. They were a complete joke. Worst of all, it took 4 men almost 7 hours to move my 3 bedroom apartment to a house 13 miles away. It took 3 guys only 4 hours to move two apartments into 1 that was 23 miles away. It should have taken 4 men only 4 to 4.5 hours. I trusted morse and they failed me miserably. This crew was just an absolute joke and if I owned this company, I would not tolerate those kinds of employees. Wasn't worth the 1300 dollars. I actually marked on their form that they did a good job because I try to be nice and understanding even though I was not happy with their effort and professionalism. But after I started seeing all the chips, dings, scratches, and gouges, I started getting angry. I would rather move it myself next time. Do not use morse moving. Irresponsible company! I scheduled an in-home estimate with them at 9 am 6/27/2013. They also sent me an email confirmation. On that day I held my Starbucks coffee trip and was waiting for them whole morning. They never showed and did not call me either. I tried to call them using the number they provided in email and got disconnected without taking a message. I sent two emails to them and asked what was going on. They never bother to respond. This entire company needs to think about who pays their bills. As I read many of the other reviews, I had all of the same nightmare problems. The local Indianapolis office up to the corporate office has zero customer service skills. As I was trying to get to the bottom of why my stuff was not being delivered they leave you with the impression you are bugging them. Not only are you bugging them but they respond with attitude. There is zero remorse or compassion when you ask why they are not living up to what they said they would do. The moving coordinator, response to why they weren't delivering on their word was, "I never said that." We went with this company because they ASSURED us we would get our goods delivered half way across the country by a certain date (the start of the spread). Not only did they not make that date they delivered after the contractual spread giving to us. In turn, I believe we fell for the old bait and switch. Their mission statement should read, "Once we have your money, we will deliver when it is convenient for us." If there were one moving company left in the US and it happened to be Morse and Allied, I would make 10 trips back and forth across country with a pick up truck before dealing with this living nightmare of a company. This was our first experience using a moving company, and it was excellent. The entire move was across the country (Indiana to Utah) and was through Allied Moving, so I will only comment on the movers that loaded our things on the Indiana end. Also, the move was paid for by my job, so I have no useful comments to add about price or billing. I had talked to a Morse representative maybe two or three times before the move itself. We also had someone come to give us a quote on the move; he was extremely helpful as we were still somewhat undecided about what we should take or leave. He helped us get a sense of how much the larger items would add to the total, as I had a limit from my company about the total cost. For the actual moving process, we had a two bedroom apartment with relatively little furniture, and were (mostly) packed when the movers arrived. They arrived at the scheduled time and offered to help us pack the things that we hadn't finished (I believe there was a mix-up between talking to so many companies and they thought they were packing the whole apartment). The movers were extremely friendly and courteous, quick, and efficient. They double checked everything to make sure they were taking the correct items (we were somewhat disorganized), and even gave us some extra supplies when we ran out of boxes. They also gave us some advice on how to wrap/package certain items that we were concerned about. Most of our items arrived in excellent shape, although this is not completely a reflection of Morse for the ones that were slightly smushed, as the items switched moving companies and trucks in the process of getting to Utah. The only things that could have been improved were that they broke off a huge limb of a tree in parking the moving truck outside, and I confirmed with a woman from Morse the day before the move that they were not packing our things.
